Nothing new. I mean, my most recent game is Heavy Rain, and I probably would've beaten it like 10 times by now, but my PS3 isn't working. The DVD works, so I can still play PS1 and PS2 games on it, but the Blu-Ray drive is broken. So I'm just replaying a bunch of older games. I've been pretty busy though, with starting a new job and my band and things like that.

Once I start earning money, yeah. Though I dunno, cause as far as I know, it broke because Sony's newest Firmware clocks the PS3's higher. Which is okay for the slim PS3's because of... I dunno, better glue that doesn't heat up as much, or whatever. But the old school, 60 gig PS3s are overheating. And it doesn't happen for sure, and not at the same time, so it's like a ticking time bomb. So even if I get it fixed, it's still susceptible to breaking down for the same reason. So I was even considering just getting another PS3, a slim one, and then just using this one for PS1 and PS2 games, and downloadables.

Yeah, well, it started happening to various people here and there since the firmware was released in November, or early december. Didn't happen to me until the beginning of January. And yeah, there's a lot of people going, "Well, it didn't happen to me, so it's not true. It's just a random breakdown," but that's bullcrap. There's hundreds of people out there who it's happening to. And yeah, that might not seem like much from over 1 million PS3s that are out there, but it's still a lot, if you consider that it's only been happening since December. I'm just saying, be careful. Keep your PS3 in a ventilated area, and take breaks often. Don't pull 10+ hour marathons like I used to.

I hadn't heard of the problem. I'll have to be careful. Although the longest I have my PS3 on is about 4 hours in a day. So I hope it will be ok.

Well, I didn't even know about the problem until it happened, and to be honest, I had it running pretty hot the past few days before it broke down. It was in the warmest room in the house at the time. So maybe that's what did it.

Oh, I kept it dusted. Heck, I vaccumed it. I kept my ventilated too, but like I said, what probably did it was the room temperature. So, you should probabl make sure the room is at room temperature... So like, not much more than 72 F. I know it seems like micromanagement, but still, personally, I think they're all ticking time bombs, but hopefully yours won't break down anytime soon. Either way, I'll just save up and get a slim.

i dont think im going to get a themomter for my room just for it. if you have to worry about it every 2 seconds kinda takes the fun out of it. my room is usully pretty cool, but some times its warm... and i dont know if ive ever played for 10hrs or more. but i know some times ive played along time, or its gotten left on.

Well, 72 is the standard room temperature. I dunno, I can usually just tell if it's warmer or colder than that. Usually I like to keep my room below that, for the PS3 and mylaptop. But in the summer, it's not easy.

I live in Canada. But 72 is, I would say, the most average temperature comfortable to people. Well, maybe that's just in this part of the world.
