Mountains Part 5:
Hospital

Kawaii_Hime_Ceres
After several hours in a private room Rhine had been stitched up in a few places, mostly on the hind end, and given blood to help recoup his looses. The doctors themselves didn't have much to say; mostly because he was after all a dragon.

Rhine opened one eye slowly before daring to open the other. What he does see is Jasmine... Jasmine and him in a strange room. This strange room having wires, and tubes; some of which are connected to him.

Rhine snorted trying to clear his head before muttering, "Min"
Ecavi
Jasmine had arrived with Rhine and shortly afterward called her mother from a phone at the nurse's station. She wasn't allowed to stick with him the whole time, but she didn't want to leave him without knowing how to contact his mother- someone should be there when he wakes up. He did say he didn't want to go to a hospital, and he might not know where he was.

Needless to say, once Rhine was given a room, Jasmine put the mirror she'd picked up on the nightstand beside the bed.

When Rhine finally starts to wake up, Min is sitting in a chair off to the side of the room, leaning against the wall with her eyes closed. She'd fallen asleep. Her clothes are no longer bloody, though Rhine wouldn't know she'd gotten covered in blood.

"Hrr?" she murmurs sleepily when a sound comes from Rhine, her wings fluttering a bit as she moves. Then her eyes snap open when she realizes that it was Rhine that was talking and then she smiles at him.

"You're up," she says, "I told you you should go to a hospital."
Kawaii_Hime_Ceres
"I've never been to one before..." Rhine was slow at speaking, with an occasional pause.

Rhine looked around. "Are you alone." Then he noticed the mirror. "Have you..." He sighed, and almost hope his mother wouldn't show.

Rhine gave a thoughtful look. "Thank You." He was teetering inside about how he felt. "I'm sorry..." He looked away ashamed. "I hope who ever didn't hurt you."

Rhine yawned despite efforts not to. "Also that you've lost your day over me." Inside he was almost sick that he actually felt happy that she had lost a day over him. This made his fuzzy feeling return.
Ecavi
"Yeah, but I'm always right so you should just have agreed to go," she jokes, smiling at him to encourage him to keep speaking despite the slow and halting pace.

"No, my mom's here," Min nods, looking toward the partially open door and back again, "I think she went to get a drink or something." She eyes the mirror when Rhine looks at it, "That was on the rug, I assumed it's yours..."

"Rose didn't hurt me," she says, almost laughing, "She let me use her cellphone to get your help, you really scared her. You shouldn't be so quick to jump up and scare people like that." She nods firmly, her tone is still a joking kind, though in a more scolding manner.

"And it's not a lost day if you're alright," she nods.
Kawaii_Hime_Ceres
"Always right." Rhine pauses with a nod followed by a smile.

"Maybe I'll get to meet her before I'm asleep again." Rhine thought for a moment, and then nodded his head as if ending the thought.

"Rose?" He paused, and then concluded in his mind that this was the last lady he saw before he collapsed. "I'll have to thank her when I see her again, and apologize."

Rhine stretched his front half first followed by the back half. He was stiff, and growing itchy. The room to him was almost to dry, but at least not overly hot. "I'll need wet towels, or some lotion soon." He blushed feeling that his almost made him sound girlish. So, he through out the last part. "Before I am half baked."

"It pleases me that your day wasn't lost." Rhine smiled looking into her eyes.

Rhine then nodded. "Yes the mirror is mine... It is my way home."
Ecavi
Jasmine just nods to most of Rhine's comments, pressing no issue farther than what he says until he mentions the towels and lotion. She points to a little row of buttons beside him, "I think you can call a nurse or something on one of those buttons, they'd know where to get towels and lotion." She nods matter of factly, but then is distracted by his explanation of the mirror.

"Really? How's it work?" She looks back and fourth from mirror to Rhine..
Kawaii_Hime_Ceres
Rhine looked at the buttons, and growled. The wires enough was scarring him, but let alone the rest of the mess just plain terrified him. He instead just opted not to push the buttons and suffer. "My home is of will, and not wire... How does everyone exists on Gaia and Earth? It is so cluttered..." He bit his lip hoping it didn't offend her.

At first he thought that perhaps she was tricking him into calling his mother. He quickly shook the thoughts, and decided to just show her. In lower tones, almost a whisper. "Me of Mirror, Mirror of Me... I wish to go home." The word home was almost non existent, but sure as he had said it the mirror shook and glowed. The reflection shivered, and transformed to show not oneself but an island.

Rhine snorted, but didn't look at the mirror. "She'll arrive shortly I suppose now that there is a connection." He sighed. "She's creepy like that, you can never escape her knowing almost anything that goes on, on the island."

Rhine had given a pause for some time, followed by a long yawn. "You can pick the mirror up, and look into its reflection, if you like..." He thought for a moment, whether or not he should tell her the trick, or just let her find out. He'd very much like her to visit, but then decided that trickery was no way to treat a good friend. "Touching the reflection is what transports me." Rhine followed through with an after thought. If the mirror was larger all you would have to do is stand in front of it." Rhine smiled.
Ecavi
Jasmine blinks when Rhine complains about the cluttery world they- well, she apparently- live in. She just nods slowly, not entirely sure what he means about his home being of will and not wire.

"Um, ok," she mumbles, then watches with intense curiosity when he starts talking to the mirror. Her eyes widen when it starts to shake, standing up and walking over to him to get a better look at it.

"Wow, that's pretty," she says, looking at the Island reflected in the mirror and instinctively looking behind Rhine to the wall as if there is an island there. She smiles when he says she'll arrive, but has to ask, "She who? Your mom?"

She takes the mirror from him to get a better look when he says she can, tempted to touch it before he says what would happen- but even more curious about it when he explains. Jasmine smiles, and then sets the mirror back on the table, "Neat."

Just as Jasmine sets down the mirror, a fairy with long brown hair, currently tied back in a braid, and bright red eyes enters the room carrying what looks like a coffee cup from somewhere in the hospital, she enters the room without taking a good look around.

"Ceri's making quite the mess down in that playroom, but we're lucky it's th-" she starts before realizing the dragon girl isn't even in her chair anymore. Her red eyes turn to the bed, where she notices that Rhine is awake and Jasmine is standing nearby.

"Oh, you're awake," she smiles, setting down her drink on a near by wheely-table, walking over and asking, "How're you feeling?"

Jasmine almost rolls her eyes, but smiles and whispers to Rhine, "That's my mom."
Kawaii_Hime_Ceres
"Yes, my mother..." Rhine says reluctantly.

Rhine doesn't mention further about the mirror at the arrival of Jasmine's mother.

Rhine giving a snicker snort at Jasmine's whisper, he nodded softly.

Shortly after Rhine looked to the woman. He couldn't say that he had herd a lot about her, but was fairly impressed all the same. "I'm awake." He paused. "As to be expected..."

Rhine wavered a bit in thought. Did she know my name? To reduce doubt, he went ahead and said it with a smile. "My name is Rhine."

Rhine stood up, wavering a bit, he gave a long stretch. He managed to sit up, and yawned. You could tell he was waiting...

The wait wasn't long as a woman appeared in the midst of the room.

Ceres wasn't expecting humans, so she had not prepared a human entrance. Instead you say a 90 percent human, the 10 percent owing to a horses tail. She wore a purple-ish silver crisscross top, and the bottom half was covered by two pieces of cloth of the same material held together with two silver hoops. She wore shades, but her eyes were empty at first glance... She was blind, however, she had the air as if she knew everything around here. She had blond hair with dirty blond and silver streaks. It was tied into sections and fell to her ankles. Several silver pieces of jewelry was around her lower and upper arms, thighs, ankles, and tail.

"Rhine, dear, I was worried when you didn't come through after opening it...." Ceres chimed in a happy state until she got a good look around. "Why are you in one of these... isn't the island good enough?"

Ceres was cut off by Rhine, as he snorted. "It was an accident. I pasted out, and Jasmine and her mother were kind enough to bring me here instead of leaving me to..." He didn't say the last word.

Rhine looked to Jasmine whispering. "And, now you've meet mine." He gave a very long drawn out sigh.
Ecavi
"It's nice to meet you, Rhine," Ecavi says amiably, "My name is Ecavi. It's good to see you're awake, we were worried about you." She keeps a smile on her face and looks him up and down a bit, wondering why she'd not heard of Rhine before today if he's such a good friend of Jasmine.

Jasmine jumps when Ceres suddenly appears in the middle of the room, not so startled by the means of entry but the suddenness of it. Ecavi has a similar reaction, but doesn't quite jump. Jasmine is less tactful with her gaze, her expression entirely curious, where Ecavi keeps a smile on her face despite her curiosity.

"Does she always just appear in places like that?" Min asks Rhine in a hushed voice, leaning back on the nightstand beside his bed.
Kawaii_Hime_Ceres
Rhine muttered out of the corner of his mouth. "I told you she was creepy."

Rhine looked up at Jasmine and her mother, and smiled. He was considerably better from a few hours ago. He then shifted, and carefully with the chairs around him climbed off the bed. There was a limp, and a look of pain in his eyes with every movement.

Once on the floor he slithered towards Jasmine, and as best he could he reared onto his two back claws. He swayed a bit, feeling light headed. When he put his front claws on her shoulder they were a bit heaver than normal. He then laid her head on his shoulder, and whispered. "I've got to go home... I cannot travel alone like this, my will isn't strong enough to control my path home. I also know my mother cannot stay long here, more than an hour at best." Rhine paused with a long sigh, and still in a whisper. "Thank You, and I'll take better care to listen to your advice next time..." Rhine again sighed, it was taking every ounce he had stored up to manage this. "Soon, I promise I'll return to you, and by then I'll know what I feel."

Rhine smiled, and then slid back to the ground. He looked to Ecavi. "Thank you. I hope next time we meet it will be under better circumstances." He nuzzled her hand.

Then Rhine went to his mother. "I know why you've come. Not only out of worry, but to take me home." Rhine snorted not happy, but in some small way he was. "I'm ready..."

Ceres nodded, and lifted his mirror into her hand. She then knelt onto the floor. "Thank You again, if there is a way to repay you for your services please let me know."
Ecavi
Jasmine laughs quietly behind a golden hand, and steps back to make it easier for Rhine to get off of the bed, murmuring, "Be careful." Last thing she wants to have happen is him trip or something, though she doesn't really think it'd cause that much more damage.

"You're leaving?" she asks suddenly, looking surprised. Ecavi looks slightly surprised as well, but doesn't say anything at the moment.

"All right," Jasmine says with an exagerated sigh, "No more climbing for awhile, OK?" She grins, and then bites back a laugh, which only broadens the grin, when Rhine says he'll figure out how he feels. When he looks to Ecavi and thanks her, her expression is somewhat surprised but she manages a genuine smile at Rhine.

"Take care of yourself," she says.

Rhine's Diary Entry 5

I can officially say that I am sure there is nothing land based out there that I am good out. I got a sudden urge to climb a mountain. Getting up was one thing, but getting down. I had to send myself into the sea. Swan dive is one thing, but a belly flop is another.

I didn't come back unharmed, in fact I came through it pretty beaten up. Bleeding heavy in some areas, mostly on my hind end.

Anyways, once I got home I confessed about 90 percent of my past few weeks to her. I left Jasmine out of it. I am not completely ready to share those facts just yet, because first i have to understand them myself.

I didn't stay home long because I didn't want to give her time to fuss over me. Instead I headed to the Agency for some rest.

I did manage some rest, and when I woke Jasmine was there.

We had a very heart warming chat. Jasmine told me that I should go for help. I being stubborn didn't. Instead I continued to chat with her. I even told her about my fuzzy feeling. I don't completely understand her explanation of a fuzzy feeling.

Also Jasmine showed me how comfy a sofa is. I must get one for my room, but waterproof it.

I have a visit from Ayo coming up soon, and after that I am going to visit Ayisha. I think she can explain this fuzzy feeling to me.

Speaking of which mother hasn't questioned me yet about Jasmine. Maybe it is because I don't even know what is up. But, I bet she is waiting to see how I act around Ayo.

Anyways, I ended up passing out at the agency. Jasmine and Rose (?) where kind enough to take me a hospital.

I don't know how long I was out, but when I woke Jasmine was there, and we talked about my mirror. Shortly after our mothers arrived.

I had to leave with my mother because I wasn't strong enough to transport myself home.

Rhine's Diary Entry 6

Ayo was intersting to meet, she is really hyper. Her mother was nice.

We went down to the beach, and had a picnic.

Ayo liked the shells there. I helped her collect some.

Ayo wanted to learn how to swim, but we didn't have time. Perhaps next time I can help teach her.

Ayo said she has a horde... Perhaps those shells will be someting nice for her to add to it.

She found a shell she really liked. I gave her a piece of silver rope to string it to.

Rhine's Diary Entry 7

Kaida is a knew born dragon, and from what I understand I was the second person (if you can call me a person) she has interacted with.

She is so tiny, but adorable.

I don't know how, but she brings out a big brother side of me. I like this side of me. I just hope I can continue to be this kind of figure to her. Well, that is if her mother doesn't mind. I am not all that sure if she even likes me much. Then again she didn't hit me or try to when I was around Kaida.

Speaking of which, I helped her learn to walk (she went from the sofa to the rug). She tumbled a lot, but she still did an awesome job.

I got to recommend my favorite rug under the window. From what I saw she really enjoyed it because she was out for a nap in no time. I of course kept her company.

Also, tomorrow I am going to Ayisha's, and then GraMa. I just hope I can avoid mother in the process. I don't want to have to discuss this fuzzy feeling with her until I understand it myself.

Fuzzy Part 1:
Ayisha

A little after breakfast Rhine called out to his mother. "I'm off to visit with Ayisha."

"Alright, but later I want a word with you."

Rhine sighed, and slipped out the front door. Ayisha lived next door, so it was a quick walk over.

Rhine's tail hit the door hard, it was his form of knocking. He waited.

Ayisha called out. "Be there in a minute!"

Shortly after the door open. The twins were in the back with Masika.

"What do I owe this pleasure to?" Ayisha asked showing Rhine in.

Rhine didn't normally venture into his sisters home. He normally kept the visits to when Ayisha came over to visit with mother.

Rhine was starting to wonder if they was a good idea after all, but also thought who else could solve such a puzzle.

"I've got a feeling..." Rhine paused, thinking to himself how lame that sounded. "But, this isn't a normal feeling, it is something all together different." His words slowing the further into it he got, and the stupider he felt. "And, I only get it when I am around a certain girl." Rhine bit his lip; however, it was a relief of pressure off of his chest.

Ayisha listened, and nodded her head slowly. "It is something natural that happens to everyone." This came out mater-of-factly. "Have you discussed this with Mom?" It was an end thought.

Rhine shook his head. "It is a bit of an embarrassing matter not understanding ones self."

Ayisha giggled. "You know she'll corner you eventually."

Rhine sighed and nodded his head. "Yeah, and I feel like it is coming this evening." Rhine paused. "So, what exactly is this feeling?"

Ayisha thought for a moment. She didn't want to misinform him. "When boys and girls get older, and become more mature there are a different set of reactions that happen. You won't just love your mother anymore, also goals and priorities change..." She paused.

Rhine sunk a bit because this was proving to be a lot more complicated than he thought.

Ayisha saw him sinking, and patted him on the head. "What your feeling is probably what a lot of teens call crushes. Crushes later on become dates. Dates later on become serious relationships. Serious relationships become marriage."

Rhine's eyes got wide, and gave a wow type look. His mind had never thought of such possibilities. "But, you married a girl. So, does that mean I am suppose to marry a guy." He was about in tears because Jasmine wasn't a guy, she was a girl.

Ayisha frowned for a second. "When falling in love it is your heart and emotions that choose for you."

Rhine nodded. "So then having this feeling towards a girl is alright."

Ayisha started to smile again and nodded. "Yes. Actually in most societies it is common practice that opposite genders get together, and that I would be the odd ball."

Rhine giggled. "But, you are the best odd ball there is then."

Ayisha smiled and hugged him. "Do you feel better now?"

Rhine nodded, and smiled. "Yes, thank you! Now I am going to do something about the way I feel."

Ayisha nodded. "Just don't go rushing in!"

Rhine gave a puzzled look. "Why?"

"Because crushes, like a lot of emotions take a while to develop. You'll know when the moments right." Ayisha was straight faced.

Rhine nuzzled her. "Thank you!"

"You are very welcome. I hope this crush of yours works out for the best." Ayisha smiled. "Now, please excuse me I need to get back to cleaning up the house."

Rhine nodded, and Ayisha walked him to the door.

Fuzzy Part 2:
GraMa

After Rhine's visit with Ayisha he didn't go straight to GraMa but instead for his morning swim at the lake, and then to water his flowers. They had blooms on them, and looked as if they were going to open soon.

Rhine made a mental note that while he was in the Gaia Realm he would have to go buy a vase.

The trip into the grove wasn't to difficult of a task as Rhine knew what to expect.

"Hello, GraMa." Rhine chimed.

Mother Trees branches swayed. "Hello! What a nice surprise."

Rhine gave GraMa a pretty detailed recap of the mountains, hospital, and what he had just discussed with Ayisha. Mother Tree was listening intently and didn't interrupt.

"You've been busy." Mother Tree chuckled.

Rhine nodded. "Speaking of priorities, I've got a few things I want to accomplish."

"Want to tell me?" Mother Tree smiled brightly.

"I want to develop my ice breath further, and learn to shift into a human shape." Rhine sounded proud of the things he wanted to accomplish.

Mother Tree sat silent for a moment. "The grove would be a good point of practice for strengthening your ice breath."

Rhine nodded and smiled. "I also want to find a way to impress Jasmine."

Mother Tree nodded. "You mean the flowers?"

Rhine blushed and nodded.

"I wish you luck." Mother Tree chuckled.

Rhine stretched out. "It is about mid afternoon, I better get home... Mom wants a word with me." He sighed.

"Tell her I said hello." Mother Tree smiled.

Rhine nodded, slithering off.

Fuzzy Part 3:
Ceres

When Rhine entered Ceres was resting on the sofa. Tinker was in her room doing her normal, and the rest of the girls had gone into town.

"Home early?" Ceres asked in a most nicest way.

Rhine nodded his head. "I suppose I am, but then again I knew you wanted a word with me." Rhine paused a moment, holding back the urge to roll his eyes. "Words I am sure that are long awaited, and that I deserve."

Ceres smiled oddly. "You haven't let me get much of a word in since we argued..." She paused. "Even when you confessed."

Rhine had almost forgotten that she had never gotten to talk to him because shortly after his leaving he had ended up in the hospital. He was almost sorry, and let out a long suppressed sigh. "I'm sorry."

"It is alright. I understand you need space. I just didn't expect you to want miles of it." Ceres flushed slightly.

"I appreciate the fact that you didn't push." Rhine nudged his mother.

Ceres reached down and helped him onto the sofa. "I'm sorry." She added as an after thought. "I keep forgetting you don't want my help."

Rhine shook his head. "It is alright." He smiled. "We all need it some time." He hung onto every word. It almost felt good to be near his mother again.

"I've really got nothing to say, I just wanted a little time with you." Ceres debated a bit on her next question before asking it. "Well, I do have one question... Who was that girl back at the hospital?"

Rhine went wide eyed. He'd expected such a question, but still the upfront efforts of his mother caught him off guard. "Her name is Jasmine, and she is a really special person." Rhine paused, and decided to leave it at that before adding. "I've been visiting her at the agency for a while now." Rhine smiled pleased with himself now that he knew what he was feeling.

Ceres smiled. "I take it you feel different around her than you do when you met Ayo."

Rhine went red as a tomato as he nodded; however, he choked on his words. "Y" was all he could stammer out.

"I also take it that is the reason you went to Ayisha's today..." Ceres paused. She was enjoying the open communication, and didn't want it to shut quickly. "Because you wanted more information on this matter."

Rhine nodded.

Rhine was starting to squirm with embarrassment. Ceres picking up on this just smiled.

"Perhaps another time we can talk more about her." Ceres smiled, and hugged Rhine.

"Alright." Rhine replied in squeaky tones.

"If you need anything you'll let me know?" Ceres held concern in her voice despite her smile.

"Alright." Rhine again replied stronger this time than the last.

Ceres stood up. "Dinner will be ready in about thirty minutes. I hope you'll do more than eat and run this evening."

Rhine smiled. "I can manage it for one evening."

Ceres giggled. "Alright then. By the way, your doing great in accomplishing your goal of becoming built." Ceres paused. "I'm proud of you."

Rhine gave his growl like purr. "Thank You!"

Rhine got down from the sofa and slithered towards his room. Ceres went into the kitchen.

A strange package is delivered to Ceres's home, a large basket tucked in with warm blankets. Its contents are living, but enchanted with a sleep; she will not wake until the proper person touches her. The basket itself is enchanted so that none may touch it or its contents unless they are also the proper person; upon her awakening, both spells will dissolve.

Attached to the basket is a note, done in Sunny's chicken-scratch handwriting:

Sunny's Note
I have a favour to ask of you. The original person who adopted this girl had proved.... unsatisfactory as a parent. I need to find her a home, soon.

I'm asking a lot, to expect you to take care for another of my kin, but honestly, there was not a lot of time. Bring her back if this won't work, if you can't do this, I'll find her another home if I must, but for the meantime, I need her to stay somewhere.

Her name... I don't know what her adoptive father called her. If you will give her a name I would be most appreciative. She may have trouble adjusting. Can you blame her?

I'm sorry. I didn't know what else to do.

-Sunny

When the blankets are drawn back, they reveal a small, brightly red dragon hatchling.

Cassara

Rhine was slithering out the front door to head to his morning swim when strangely for the first time he could not. There was a package that was before him. A package that he, himself could not touch, or get around. However, he did notice that it was for mother, so he called out. "Mother, there is something at the door for you!"

Ceres came quickly to the door, she couldn't remember that she had ordered anything.

Rhine moved over for Ceres to get closer.

Ceres knelt, and reached a hand out for the basket. She paused, breathing hard. She read the note over several times, and finally curiosity got to her, and she grasp the basket. She folded back the blanket, and gave a very warming smile.

"Rhine, dear..." Ceres had an ear to ear grin. "Get Tinker!"

Rhine nodded, wondering what the big deal was. He arrived back shortly after with Tinker.

Rhine was just as shocked at Tinker, and they stuttered at the same time. "Another... One?"

Ceres nodded. "Isn't she cute?"

Rhine's eyes got wider. "She?"

After a few moments of shock Rhine himself was rubbing against her. She was hotter to the touch than himself, but bearable. "Does she have a name?"

Ceres flipped the paper over, and shook her head. "No, but I do believe Cassara is a fitting name."

Tinker and Rhine nodded.

"We better prepare a room. Does it say anything about Race, Element, or Sphere?" Tinker's voice was one of excitement.

Ceres shook her head. "Perhaps it is on the adoption papers like it was for Rhine."

Tinker nodded.

Cassara finally stretched out in Ceres' arms, however she didn't open an eye. She could hear people and they were talking about her. At least that is what she was presuming. Until Ceres said the name directly at her.

"Cassara." Ceres said firm yet gently.

Cassara opened an eye, then two. She have a low screech. Her head rolled around in a lul and she saw another dragon, and something odd.

"Cassara." Again Ceres said in the same tones. "This is Rhine, your brother." Ceres pointed to Rhine. "And, that is Tinker one of your many sisters." Ceres pointed to Tinker.

"Tinker is a really nice sister." Rhine chimed in.

Cassara squeeked, and again closed her eyes.

Ceres ran a hand across her head, and down her back. "It's alright. I know it is a lot to take in. But, you are at last at home."

Cassara snorted.

Rhine was about to get bold towards her, but Ceres stopped him. "Now, now this is her second chance. It will take time to adjust. Also, let us not forget she has been in a deep sleep for sometime." Ceres smiled.

Rhine snorted, and nodded. "I'm going now..."

Ceres sighed, and nodded. "Enjoy yourself!"

"Maybe when I get back she will want to be friendly towards me." Rhine said cheerfully before exciting.

Ceres sat with Cassara in the living room. Tinker went back to her room to tinker.

Rhine's Trails

Rhine left a note for his mother that he was going out, and wouldn't return for at least a couple days. Rhine didn't leave any hint where he was going, or what he was doing.

Rhine was heading for the Grove. As GraMa had suggested, and he too figured that it would be a good spot to strengthen his ice blast.

He didn't go in confidence, or fearless; mater of fact, on purpose he went in with every sicking feeling he could muster... Even the fear of loosing Jasmine, and his family.

Family he was starting to understand was something of importance. It was like a link in a chain, ever strengthening as another was added.

The first creature in Rhine's path was the one he had promised he would return to defeat. Simple enough he thought because he had remember his tactics and operation had mother not shown up.

However, the Grove was not giving in easy. This snake like creature with two tails, and three eyes having a slick black body was quicker, and nastier than the previous.

Rhine bellowed deep within, a war cry. He reared onto his hind legs, and from deep within he let loose one blast of ice after another. At first the aim was horrible, but after the third or fourth it was becoming closer and closer to its target. Panting and out of energy for the moment Rhine was left to resort to combat hand to hand. It took several furious tail swipes, and claw swipes before the Creature retreated.

Rhine panted, and took stock of damage. Several bites nothing too bad, except one particular nasty bite at the middle of his tail.

As he moved on he found that the grove didn't want him to find the middle. It wanted to toy with him. Offering maze, and puzzle one after the other. Day and night mixed.

Rhine felt the sicking feeling of hopeless creep over him.

Then he saw it, bodies. Bloody, and beaten. They were of his friends and his family. He felt himself wanting to give up. To give in.

He nudged at each body. Each colder and lifeless as the next.

Growling as tears struggled forth. He ran, ran harder and faster than before.

NO mater how far, they where always in front. Angry he shot ice blast after ice blast. Each body shattered like mere illusion.

Rhine trembled and fell, panting hard. He was trying to remember all the happy things. All the things he care for. For the girl he crushed on.

Weak, and tired. This trip into the Grove was at an end.

The middle is what he saw, his GraMa.

GraMa smiled. "Stronger you are my grandson."

Rhine nodded, and rubbed against her. "Thank You." He paused. "Did you make things easier on me than I wanted?"

GraMa swayed but didn't answer, so it made the answer straight forward.

Rhine smiled. "Next time ease up on the slack."

GraMa nodded. "You are tired, go rest... Return again."

Rhine nodded, and slithered out.

When he returned home he didn't have a sense of day, or time. His stomach was empty, and his heart ached. He knew what he saw was untrue, but still it hung in his heart like a bad dream.

Ceres smiled. "Mother Tree told me what you were up to. I am proud of you. You will be the little warrior soon."

Rhine smiled as Ceres sat down a plate of food.

"I'm sure you'll go again." Ceres stated almost in question.

Rhine nodded. "It will be a while though."

Ceres nodded. "Let me know if you want more, and rest well afterwords."

"Alright mom." Rhine smiled.

Cassara's Attempt at Take Over

With Rhine having been the past couple of days Cassara had taken up searching the house. She avoided her sisters, and even her brother Sky.

Tinker tried to be a big sister to Cassara like she was to Rhine. But neither her nor Ceres, her mother, was having much luck.

Instead she insisted on being left alone. She could occupy herself for hours with her prancing room to room, leaping from chair to chair. However, the spot she'd come to enjoy the most was Rhine's rug under the window. It smelled of dragon, and almost like a piece of a previous home.

Meal time was the only time she showed up around the family, and that was nothing short of a hassle. Cassara was proving to be an extremely picky eater. She refused any type of meat, and stuck to strictly veggies.

Ceres couldn't wait for Rhine to return home. She thoughts perhaps that he could have a word with Cassara.

That thought quickly came to an end, because when he did return home he had found that his rug, and his window had been taken over.

Also the fact that Cassara was considerably more active than Rhine which didn't allow for Rhine to take his usual naps because she would taunt him. She would let him have the rug, just to push him off.

Rhine didn't react just yet, but temper was rising. He looked to his mother snorting, and then headed out the door.

Ceres sighed, hoping he would return again soon. Something had to give. Mater of fact, both had to give.

Broken Doors

Rhine went for his evening swim, cooling down was easy. His head was filled with thoughts of Jasmine. He would be going into town soon to get a vase, and possibly a little something else.

Back at home he slithered quickly towards his room. He stopped about mid way to shattered wood in the hall way. He knew that such maters didn't happen during a remodel because of this house being of will. He inched slowly towards his room. It was his door that was broken, and his things where every where. The culprit, Cassara was laying under a tree asleep.

Rhine snapped as this was the last straw. He bellowed deep within, his war cry. Cassara woke just in time to see him charging forward. She was without reaction as he clamped hard onto her tail with powerful jaws, lifting onto to legs he used his weight and slung her through the door way and into the hall. "Out of my room!"

Cassara screamed in pain. She growled and hissed. Her mind told her to fight back. Untrained, and just a hatching she took first reaction. She smacked him hard, her claws digging into his face. "Meany!"

Rhine snarled. "Go mess your own room up." His eyes were icy. "And, stay the hell out of my way. You are a nasty little something."

Cassara's eyes went wide. "But... I thought it was my room." Tears started to stream. This was a poor attempt at a lie.

Rhine panted hard hanging on her explanation. Almost falling for it, but suddenly realized that mother must have showed her by now. "Lier."

The screaming match had finally reached Ceres' ears out side, and she came running in.

"Am not!" Cassara yelled back.

Rhine's tail pointed to the room across the hall. "Try that room! And, you are too!"

"You too need to stop!" Ceres sighed, and went in between them. "What happened?"

Rhine snarled. "Look what that twirp did to my room!"

Cassara batted her eyes trying to act innocent.

"She says she thought it was her room... She is a lier." Rhine added.

Ceres finally noticed that each was injured, and shook her head. "Cassara your room is next door. I am sorry that isn't as great as Rhine's. I am waiting to speak to Sunny first. Still that is no excuse to mess Rhine's up and using it as an excuse that you didn't know it wasn't yours." Ceres' foot was tapping.

Rhine nodded his head happy, a smirk on his face. Cassara felt small.

Ceres turned quickly. "And Rhine just because your sister messes up your room is not an excuse to mess her up. Your room, any room is easily fixed in the house."

It was Rhine's turn to fell small. Cassara had a small smile on her face.

"Now you two better take a cool down, and afterwords you two will have play time together. You two will learn to live together!" Ceres fixed Rhine's room and walked off.

Cassara pranced with her head high into her room.

Rhine, however, pulled out his mirror. Gaia is where he was heading to take his break!
