[Kyouko :: Hakurei Shrine -> Magic Forest]

Unfortunately, for both Sakuya and Sukina, Kyouko was no longer listening. In fac she was already flying through the air over the top of the steps, still holding onto Sukina. "Here we go, Hold on!" She said, and pulled Sukina onto her back before hitting about the 25th step down, and taking another leap towards maybe the step 30 more down. This continued all the way to the bottom, and before long they were partway through the forest of Magic, on the way to the Scarlet Devil Mansion. "We've gotta hurry!"

[Reimu :: Road to Shrine -> Hakurei Shrine]

"Not exactly." Of course this wolf wouldn't know what Spell Cards are. "It's a dueling system. I can teach you if you want, but right now, food takes a priority."

It takes normal humans a good full day of traveling to reach the Hakurei Shrine, but Reimu and Chiyo both were capable of making much better speed. Before too long, they arrived at the torii, not moments after Kyouko dragged Sukina off. The shrine looked small and just a little run down, fitting for a shrine maintained by a single, somewhat lazy, maiden with minimal funds. Reimu, however, didn't seem to mind it's appearance.

She gestured widely. "This," she said, "is the Hakurei Shrine. I live here. You can rest here for a while, I guess. We have food, too." Her affected disinterest was slipping, just a little. She still was speaking in a sort of bored seeming voice, but had stopped her scolding completely. She'd been answering Chiyo's questions the whole way to the Shrine, and honestly was begin to warm to the wolf.

Reimu reflected a bit on what Misae would think of her deliberately bringing a youkai back to the Shrine so soon after her lecture. She sighed a little, but somehow couldn't bring herself to be mean to such a helpless seeming girl.

[Sukina: Hakurei Shrine -> Magic Forest]

Sukina was actually quite happy that she wasn't getting dragged down the stairs. Not happy about being dragged along, but her frowned turned back into a smile. At least she didn't have to walk.

As she enjoyed the scenery fr om her 'perch' on Kyouko's back, the ivy youkai had a couple thoughts occur to her. "You know, you'd think with how you're doing this, you'd have huge thighs...just saying. Also...why am I still here?" Figures it couldn't hurt to ask.

User Image[Sakuya || Hakurei Shrine -> Scarlet Devil Mansion]

Sakuya frowned as she watched Kyouko take off without a second thought of anything else. How was the girl so scattered-brained? She knew she could easily overtake Kyouko and beat her to Remilia-Sama but at that exact moment was when Reimu entered... being followed by a wolf youkai.

"What timing Reimu, you returned just as Marisa's scatterbrained girl made off for Remilia-Sama.," Sakuya was a bit annoyed that she was going to have to deal with Kyouko twice in one day but instead, she almost smirked, since Reimu was around, obviously Kyouko was wrong about everything... as per usual. "She was ranting about all the humans being kidnapped, if you see Marisa... tell her to tell Kyouko to stop bothering my mistress please."

With that, her eyes flickered over to the wolf that accompanied Reimu in a brief acknowledgement before announcing her leave... murmuring something about saving her mistress from certain inflicted insanity from a certain someone. She disappeared down the stairs and once she was out of sight, time froze and she traveled towards the Scarlet Devil Mansion... intent on stopping Kyouko. She made relatively good time, chuckling to herself at the pun and went to place the fish in an ice box for dinner.

[Chiyo :: Road to Shrine]

"Dueling... system," Chiyo repeated, it sounded scary. Sure she had ot fend off other youkai before but to purposely duel. How odd. She would have thought longer on the matter had Reimu not mentioned food again but since she did, the wolf's ears perked and her smile widened.

They reached the shrine, and somehow... Chiyo had imagined the shrine to look different but that was just her imagination. Maybe it was how all shrines looked. Perhaps she was expecting something extravagant? Chiyo bowed at Reimu's words, this shrine maiden really was nice! Even if she was off-standish at first... maybe something was on her mind? "Ah! Thank you... Shrine... Maiden... person?" Chiyo faltered, not knowing Reimu's name and quickly blushed.

She easily hid it by looking to the maid woman who seemed to be waiting for the shrine maiden. Maybe they were friends? Didn't seem too friendly by the way she talked though. Chiyo shrugged, maybe that's the way they did things here'. "She's pretty..." Chiyo commented after Sakuya left and looked up to Reimu, noticing that she was pretty also, especially with the red ribbon in the hair. "Oh, but you're pretty too, Shrine Maiden-San!"

[Reimu :: Hakurei Shrine]

Reimu introduced herself: "I'm Hakurei Reimu." She didn't ask Chiyo's name. If the wolf felt like introducing herself, fine. Otherwise, Reimu was alright with continuing to not address her by name. "Pity Sakuya didn't stick around. We could've got her to make us some food! I wonder what that was about Kyouko, though." Reimu briefly considered pursuing the matter before deciding that whatever the crazy oni girl was up to, it was adamantly not her problem.

Reimu led her companion up to the shrine, and went to the kitchen area, putting on rice and getting out a large stewpot. She tossed a set of keys to Chiyo: "Here, could you head to the store room behind the shrine and get some stuff to cook with? There are some skinned rabbits and leeks we can make stew with. Get some sake, too. We might as well make this a proper flower viewing."

Reimu never went to get her own supplies when there was someone else there to do the work for her.

[Chiyo :: Hakurei Shrine]

"I'm Chiyo!" The wolf pointed to herself before looking to where Sakuya disappeared. And... that was Sakuya. She kept staring for a moment as if she felt a tear in the space around her before shaking it off and running after Reimu, her tail wagging.

Chiyo caught the keys effortlessly and nodded, reciting each of the objects in her head before running off to the back of the shrine. She picked up the rabbit, resisting the urge to just eat it raw and daintly picked up the leeks and the bottle of sake as well.

"Yum!" She exclaimed as she walked back into the kitchen, carefully juggling the items. She loved rabbits.

[Kyouko :: Forest of Magic]

As Kyouko cruised through the forest at top speed, with Sukina on her back, she listened to the Youkai girl's question. "Because if this many humans disappeared, it would upset the balance in Gensokyo, and I'd have no other humans to be friends with! We have to save them! Plus, this is an incident, and without Reimu here, someone else has to solve it, so it might as well be us! And the more people working on it the better right?" It would still be a while before they got to the Misty Lake, and then they'd have to get over the water to get to the mansion.

[Misheru :: Scarlet Devil Mansion]
User Image
When a loud growl from her tummy woke the Kitsune Misheru up from her nap she stretched, rose to her paws, and shook out her fur. With a sniff she tested the air for any signs of food nearby. 'Alas... must not be meal time yet.' Moving slowly as she warmed up her muscles she made her way to the kitchen. 'I had hoped Sakuya would be here stiring up something yummy for Remilia and Flandre that I could share.' Her head hung low for a moment and then swung up, with a happy yip she took off out the nearest door. 'I'll go running!!!' She loved the feel of the air as it rushed past her, she would chase the wind if she could move fast enough. Outside she made her way down to the lakes edge and started playing with leaves on the ground. Pounch, spring, roll... "Yippp... Yipp." Spring was a fun time of year for the fox youki.

[Remilia Scarlet :: Scarlet Devil Mansion :: Magic Library Voile]

Remilia was in Patchouli's library, dwarfed behind a pile of books that she was really only sort of reading. Open on her lap was a marine encyclopedia, with many informative and beautifully illustrated entries describing sea life and naval technology. Indeed, if one were to examine the books piled all around the little girl vampire whose feet did not quite reach the floor from the stool she was sitting on, one might observe the common theme between them: they all dealt, even if only tangentially, with the sea.

Why was the Invincible Scarlet Devil so engrossed? Well, in just the last hour or so, she had decided to become suddenly obsessed with underwater travel. She would go on an undersea trip - that was simply the end of it. The fact that there aren't actually any oceans in Gensokyo was a mere setback, one that would be overcome. Somehow.

Unfortunately, Sakuya was out doing errands, so Remilia couldn't bug her to go find materials for constructing a submarine. She was taking an uncharacteristically long time, too.

[Sukina: Magic Forest]

"Oh, well. I guess you're right. When you look at it like that."

Sukina was actually confused. How could someone be this far into denial? This was obviously NOT a human. But Sukina actually didn't care. Not really. Especially considering she was getting dragged around to do this 'investigation'.

[Kyouko :: Forest of Magic :: General -> Alice's house]

"Right?! We need to get to the bottom of this as soon as possib- OH HEY, ALICE'S HOUSE IS NEAR HERE." Kyouko suddenly shouted. "Maybe she knows something, or maybe she's seen Marisa and has a clue as to where the humans have gone!!" And with a sudden swerve, they were careening through the forest in a different direction than before. "Should be right up here in a minute..." Just then, they entered the small clearing where her house was, and Kyouko skidded to a stop. "AAAAAAAALLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIIICE, YOU HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRE?" She yelled. "ALSO, IS MARISA HERE? SHE'S NOT AT HOME OR AT THE SHRINE!! OH, AND REIMU SEEMS TO BE MISSING TOO!!"

[Reimu :: Hakurei Shrine]

By the time Chiyo returned with the ingredients, the stock was ready. Reimu tossed the leeks and rabbit in, and took out some snacks and drinking cups. She brought the latter items outside, to the area behind the shrine that overlooked some of the most splendid flowering sakura in Gensokyo. Beckoning for Chiyo to follow, she set out the snacks and cups, preparing a small flower viewing for while they waited for the stew to finish cooking.

"You missed the full bloom," Reimu said, "but the flowers are still nice this time of year." She took a sip of the sake. Though she might not look it, Reimu was actually a fairly heavy drinker, almost (but not quite) capable of matching a tengu drink for drink.

Really, she thought, who cares what Misae thinks, anyway?

User Image[Sakuya || Scarlet Devil Mansion || Kitchen -> Library]

Sakuya moved lithely, placing the teapot on the stove and with her powers, effectively made blossom tea in mere seconds. Smiling slightly to herself, she set the pot on a tray followed by four small porcelain teacups. She was already behind schedule, concerning her errands. Stupid Kyouko. Luckily the oni had not reached the mansion or else Remilia-Sama would also be bothered. Sakuya sighed and figured she would be better off serving her lady first and if she asked questions, she would answer them. Knowing her mistress... she would probably... be in the library, so that was where Sakuya would check first.

She stopping time, Sakuya walked through the great length of the hallway all the while ensuring that the tea was still hot. It was much easier when one could control time to ensure small things such as the temperature to tea, but to Sakuya, such trivial things mattered immensely.

And of course, the chief maid was right. She quietly walked up to the little side table and deftly poured a cup of steaming tea, its fragrance soon filled the room. "I'm sorry I was gone longer than usual. Would you like some tea Remilia-Sama?"

[Chiyo :: Hakurei Shrine]

Chiyo watch eagerly as Reimu prepared the food. The shrine maiden seemed to work so quickly and comfortably within the shrine, meaning she had been inhabiting the place for a while now. The wolf felt a deep wash of gratitude as Reimu worked through the kitchen, stirring the broth and preparing the other condiments. She followed like a faithful dog, though she would never, ever compare herself to a lowly dog. Nonetheless, Chiyo followed, her tail swishing left to right as they went behind the shrine.

"Wow! This is beautiful! I've never seen these on Mt. Hokkaido before!" Of course, her world was one encased in snow and when she traveled down the mountain she ran in a blur past the blooming trees. But now that her icy eyes took in everything, they reflected the soft pale pink of the color and Chiyo grinned widely to Reimu. "Thank you! For showing me this!"

With that she gingerly ate at the stew, relishing in the taste and not at all minding the hotness of it despite being just taken from the stove. It was delicious. She sniffed a little at the sake, concluded that it smelled a bit... fermented and decided to skip on it.
