She slowly looked back at him, her eyes wide and frightened. "Them. The demons. Gods. Whatever you wish to call them...they might as well own my soul because of this. I'm in debt to them and owe them everything." Even as a foal, she had never been certain if something had simply happened to make her think this way, or if what she had been seeing as real were nothing but figments of her imagination. Either way, something was a huge bother and put her into too much a fear to think about a family at times.

She quickly nuzzled him and picked up one of the few burning candles. Kneeling down, she lit the oil and herbs a blaze and began muttering quietly.

He started to speak but fell silent as she began chanting. He didn't want to interupt her work or cause the 'fix' to not work. He watched her curiously.

Surely there was a way to..appease her spiritual counterparts if she really wanted to? He would have to inquire on that later. For now, he just watched.

Several minutes passed as she chanted before she fell completely silent and every flame in the shelter went out at once. The mare looked up and frowned a bit, hoping it worked but would believe it even if it didn't. Most of the times her curses and healings were rejected by the host completely.

She stood up on weak knees and sighed, pulling everything off him and cleaning up a bit, looking for a way to relight her candles again. "Wait and see...that's all we can do now." She muttered, hoping it held no ill effects on the stallion she found herself growing fond of.

Ahriman startled slightly as the candles all diminished at the same time, "Wow..." he whispered.

He watched as she rose back to her feet, "Can I move? I can help you if I can..." he waited for further instructions.

"You're free to move..." she muttered and started shoving the smoldering ashes outside and toward something wet to put them out. "I just need to find a source of light again soon. The darkness isn't all that great in here sometimes."

The mare looked back up toward him and then around the various objects in her home. It would take a few trips to replace most of what she used, but it would be worth it in the end and he could accompany her on these journeys if he so wished. "Though...that may require traveling out to one of the two-legger's camps. I need too again anyway."

His coat rippled slightly as he stretched and moved to help her. "I can help you gather supplies, if you want..." He didn't want to impose himself on her or her time, but the least he could do is offer. "It's not like I have anywhere to be," he laughed lightly.

"How often to do you make your way to the camps?" He was curious to see these two leggers that she spoke of.

She blinked back at him, surprised he offered to stick around with her. "Almost nightly sometimes...that's where I was headed back from when you startled me this morning." She headed back inside and continued to tidy up with him until everything was settled again, save for the light.

"And with the way the two-leggers react at times, it's safest at night."

"Well, then I will stay till night. If you don't mind, of course..." He followed her back inside. "Is there anything I can do?" he looked around, unsure how to make light. He could always move around some of the logs to make a window, but he was sure she wouldn't appreciate him re-arranging her home.

She shook her head and smiled a bit at him. "No, no I don't mind. I don't know how well that affected you, so it might be best to rest for now." She said, moving to stand close to him again and shook her head.

"No, for now I'll just deal with the lack of light. I can step outside at anytime anyway and do or get what I need."

He was glad that she was not sending him away, at least not for now. He only could hope that her charms and chants had worked magic like she said they would.

"I'll....I'll just lay down for now then." he replied to her instructions. He walked in a small circle and lowered his body to the ground. He felt a little light headed, but he was unsure if that was the effects of her magic or the lack of breakfast.

"Just...Just let me know," he yawned slightly, his eyes following her around her home.

Guedes nodded and finished tidying up around her home. She glanced over to watch him, finding he had, in fact, dozed off on her. A slight smile crossed the mare's face. She figured this was the calmest and happiest the poor stallion had been in so long.

Stretching out herself, she eventually found herself nestled down against him and resting her head across his neck quietly.
