Deuteronomy chapter 22 verse 5

A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this.

If you look at this in contexts it falls under the law. Which some would say is not applicable and I would say some of it is. Remember that Christ said he did not come to abolish the law and the prophets but to fulfill them and that every letter of the law would stay in tact until his second coming.

Transexuality is a sticky subject however. I myself as a joke have dressed up as a female, as have several guys that I know. However there is a point when th line is crossed and I think that everyone can agree that the line has been crossed when an adult male or adult female for a lifestyle on a regular basis dresses as the opposite sex

Okay thank you Friar and um well sometimes I'll wear baggy pants like some guys and I'll wear some shirts that were handed down from my dad and older brother, like a Twins shirt or one of my older brother's old sweatshirts. Is that bad? That doesn't mean I'm actually dressing up as a boy, does it? (because it's cheaper and I don't like having to get new clothes)...and I'm not trying to be mean but a lot of girls clothes I see are always low-cut and show more skin than I'd like...

I feel that it is less what you wear and more the motives behind it. In the time that this was said, it was out of rebellion or homosexuality that people dressed as the opposite gender. It's a matter of the heart more than anything else.

Okay, thanks! I never was one for rebelling... I've tried before but failed. Well, thanks for helping me!

Friar Thomas
He didn't ask if it was wrong to be NUDE or NAKED. He asked if it is wrong to be a NUDIST/NUDISM and if it is a sin..

NUDISM in and of itself is not a sin

It is not wrong to be naked or Nude... to be a NUDIST on the other hand is wrong because you're exposing yourself to the public

I'm sorry Gothic but sometimes it is necessary to look to other places besides the bible to get answers. The concept of a NUDIST isn't found in the Bible anywhere, but the concept of Exposing oneself, being sexually immoral and the like are.

Also if you discount Deuteronomy why not throw out Leviticus, and Genesis and Exodus for that matter. Biblical books are still cannon and still holds weight even if we don't necessarily follow every little thing that Deuteronomy and Leviticus says anymore.

Furthermore something that is shameful may not be sinful per say but is not everything sinful shameful? . The Bible also says do not cause your brother to stumble. If you're walking around in a nudist community as a nudist you are walking up to the line and saying I don't care if this causes someone to stumble. And you WILL cause someone to stumble with their sin.

Nudism isn't a sin......i've posed nude for my fellow art students and i'm not doing it as a sex object and they don't look at me in that way....to them i'm just something else to draw.

and nudists in nudist colonies aren't sinning either by being nude....just because they live out their daily lives nude doesn't mean that they are being sexual or trying to be lusted after.
i mean you don't lust after someone because they are nude anyway....people lust after others because they find the person attractive.....i mean if you saw someone that is nude out in public that you found unattractive would you still lust for them.

What exactly determines what is proper for a man to wear and is what proper for a woman to wear......i mean really who decides?
I mean we certainly don't dress like they did back then and styles change all of the time. Does the majority decide and if they do how do we know that the majority is right?

I feel that if what you are wearing isn't revealing or of a sexual nature then you should wear what ever you like....i mean we have a right to our own style.

Cerulean... do you not realize how your last two posts contradict one another....

One one hand its acceptable to be a nudist on the other its unacceptable to wear clothing that is revealing or sexual in nature.
