Eirnae Slytherin-Natenhar

PostPosted: Tue Mar 21, 2006 12:23 am

"Ah, that certainly seems to be his name, then," Eirnae confirms, taking a moment to look Rath up and down, lifting a brow at the sight of his leg. His growl had pricked at her hearing, but for now she lets it go. From the way he's moving, she belives his concern had lain with her posing a threat to the angelic teen near her. Perhaps the fresh bandage wrapped around one of this green youth's legs was the answer to his reasons for being protective. "Care to explain why the beast had most of its muzzle burned away, as if by an acid?"

Casala looks relieved that Eirnae is skipping past the fact that she nearly drowned, and gladly takes up the proffered subject. "Rath secretes a kind of green liquid from his skin. I'm guessing it is his special gift. That's what burned its mouth, and got it to let him go. I don't know if he can control it, though. The green stuff, that is." Not a very medical explaination, but she thinks Eirnae will get the idea. She turns around to offer Rath her left hand while gesturing to Eirnae with her right, smiling brightly to show him that the person she is indicating isn't a threat, mostly because she caught the edge of his growl, too. "Rath, this is Eirnae. She is my mother. Do you understand what I mean by mother?" She waits a few seconds before adding, "She is not from the island. She's an elf, from the world below."

Eirnae busies herself by wringing the moisture from her hair, all the while keeping a close eye on the two Pae'il. She's unsure of this Rath character, as Casala has always been a bit too trusting for her own good.

Rath peered at the tall one and shuffled his way forward and sniffed at it. It was very tall compared to him and he began circling the tall one, checking it over very closely. He peered at Casala at the mention of the green stuff on his skin, looked at his arm and held it up as white wet dripped from his arm. He concentrated and purple stuff was next, then orange. He flicked it off after, better not to touch it.

Rath listened to Casala's description of the tall one. Mother?.. what was mother? Rath looked up at Eirnae, the name he got, and shook his head in confusion, Eirnae was many things apparently, Eirnae, Elf, Mother, Ground thing. Rath was just confused and scratched his head.

Casala watches Rath with equal interest as Eirnae as he oozes the slimey fluids of differing colors. "I guess he can control it, then," she admits with darkening cheeks. She hadn't meant to underestimate him. She does wonder what the varying colors mean, but she knows better than to test them out by touch. She's rather fond of her skin, at least fond enough to try and avoid what happened to the muzzle of the animal they fought earlier.

"Not much of a talker, is he?" Eirnae asks while straightening, following Rath's movements warily, though she doesn't spin full around to keep facing him while he's circling. At the shaking of his head, she takes a chance and lowers herself to put her eyes at his level. She's all too familiar with how it feels to be looking up at others most of the time, and how it can make one feel out of place, or threatened. "Do you have a mother, Rath?" she asks softly, keeping her posture relaxed and ready to spring into a defensive position if need be. "Someone who helped take care of you when you were little?"

"Maybe that's not what's confused him, mother? Maybe it's the fact that you don't look like us?" Casala suggests helpfully, pointing to Eirnae's wingless upper back.

"Perhaps so, Casala, but remember... One thing at a time," the elven woman reminds her daughter with a slight smile, not taking her attention from Rath. "Have you a mother, Rath? If so, may we meet her?"

Rath looked on at Eirnae's face and her ears, he looked between Wirnae and Casala as he listened to what they said. He didn't have a mother, not that he knew of, he had a shiney, that was even better, nothing beats a shiney..... well, maybe a goopy box.

Rath blinked when Eirnae said that someone taking care of him. He smiled then, finally, so that's what a mother was. Why didn't these two just say so in the first place? He didn't know what Eirnae meant by meeting her, he didn't know who her was, but maybe they could meet his mother... maybe. Rath looked around the area, trying to find something that looked black and found an old burnt piece of plant. Walking up to a big hard tall plant, he began to scribbled, drawing on it. Finally using some of the mush from his leg, he ended up with this.

Rath turned and pointed at his picture. That was mother he guessed, and he showed them both the present he got from the man in black. His other shiney, the one round his neck.

Eirnae and Casala both wait out Rath's sudden burst of creativity, watching as the stick figure takes shape. Eirnae is the first to comment while she rearranges the leather strap between her breasts, its mithral chains clinking softly as she makes sure the blue leather doesn't dry at the wrong angle. "Ah, so that's your mother," she states, taking in what details the crude drawing allows. "Does she live nearby? I'd like to have a talk with her, especially if you live out here by the Dragnid Forest with her. I'm sure she has much to share about the area."

Casala walks up to stand next to Rath, studying the drawing far longer than Eirnae does. Somethng about the figure's eyes bugs her, a fact that tickles the back of her mind but refuses to be clarified. Why is she so concerned? Maybe his mother just has bright green eyes? Turning her attention to Rath, she smiles softer than before. "You don't have to introduce us to her if you don't want to, Rath." She looks back to the drawing, tapping the bark of the tree he'd chosen for his canvas, she continues, "She looks very tough. I bet she could have felled the thing we fought easily."

Rath stood back and admired his work, it really did look like the man in black. Turning around to see if the other two were looking, he hadn't noticed they had walked up and his face went straight into Eirnae's squishy's. He blinked, although they felt nice, he pulled his face out and felt warm and fuzzy. He poked at Eirnae's squishy, they were biiig, biggest he seen, and looking at Casala's he pouted and poked his own chest. How come he didn't get any?

Hearing them talk about meeting the one that looked after him, he scratched his chin and nodded and took one of their hands each in his own. He lead them through the tall plants watching many fuzzy's scatter from them. They passed a bigger fuzzy, Rath growled at it and it slowly backed away, it knew Rath very well, that's right fuzzy, we not foods. The walk also brought them across a stick like thing that hissed when he stood on it by mistake. It reared up and bit Rath who got mad and kicked it. IT wriggled around, feeling the ouchies that things normally feel when they bite Rath and curled up and stopped. Rath stopped for a moment to pick it up and put in his bag for nammys later. Coming out of the tall plant place, he saw his home and smiled. Letting go of their hands, he ran to the flap and crawled inside.

Eirnae Slytherin-Natenhar

Eirnae hadn't been prepared for Rath's face to end up mashed between her cleavage. She was even less ready for Rath's none too gentle poke at one of her leather wrapped orbs. Arching up a 'not amused' brow, Eirnae opens her mouth to inform Rath that despite the fact that she's not the shy sort, she isn't one who appreciates being prodded on her more sensitive parts. However, the teen Pae poking at his own chest shifts her mood towards that of amusement just enough to keep her grousing in check. "Rath, perhaps your mother has yet to explain..."

Well... crap. Eirnae doesn't get the chance to further her instruction of Rath on the difference between boys and girls, as her hand is grasped along with Casala's, and the two of them are led through tall grass in the direction of what she's guessing is Rath's home. Putting the brakes on her apitude for advice, Eirnae decides that she'll wait to meet Rath's caretaker before starting up that conversation again. After all, there is a chance that his mother hasn't told him about it for a reason. What that could possibly be, she cannot fathom, but it isn't within her code to break another's way of raising their children without due cause.

Casala had to supress laughter at the sight of Rath's face wedged between Eirnae's breasts. She's still not sure why men are so intriqued by those things, and has yet to explore her own, she's been so busy training and fixing up the temple. Maybe she should, just to figure out the mystery? When Rath takes her hand she ignores the flush that comes to her cheeks, and gives his a slight squeeze as they walk. Perhaps she could call him friend sooner than she'd thought? She knows this feeling of butterflies in her stomach, and ignores it, associating it with her brief first kiss by Bellatrix. Things that make you feel strange about friends aren't worth feeling.

The angelic Pae had been about to greet the wolf as Rath growled and sent it away. Knowing of the cycle of life didn't make it any easier to see once again how the hunter could become the hunted in the wilderness. The fear in the wolf's eyes as it slunk away tells Casala more about Rath, even if the information is vague.

Eirnae also notes the retreating animal, and lets it slip away. Interesting. The snake is finished off just as her sword is readied in her free hand. My, this young man moves quickly. She tries to get Rath to stop so she can examine where the snake bit him, but he insists on moving on. Casala also expresses concern, but the denomic Pae proves more stubborn than they are insistant.

Near moving as one, Eirnae and Casala follow after Rath as he scurries ahead of them to duck inside the huge skeleton with its leather flaps. Casala is the one who stops just outside of the skeleton's jaws, stepping to the side to let Eirnae lift up the flap and crawl inside, one of her daggers loosed from its sheath and in a hand... just in case.

Casala seems as if mesmorized for a moment, then slowly walks around to stand under the skull's right eye socket. She backs away, then bows deeply at the waist, as if greeting royalty. "Aaye, Hodoer," she intones respectfully to no one in particular. Or is she talking to the skeleton?

Rath shifted inside and flopped onto a pile of furs and picked up his plushie friend and sat him upright, against the cliffside wall. The wall itself was covered in drawings like the one made in the plant place, the told stories to him. There was one where Rath defeated the big fuzzy, and one where he drew Kaelin and how it made him the goopy boxes and how Kaelin fixed his hand. there was a picture of the man in black hunting fuzzy's fur Rath and how the man in black walks with the black things. Most of all Rath had drawn his favourite shiney in lots of places, it was his favourite thing. Rath pulled out his snake and put it next to the last of his goopy box stuff, his now green box sides and a bit of left over squirrel.

Rath looked over at his little hot place. The man in black built it for him, he said it would keep him Warm if he fed it plants. Rath dropped some sticks on the hot place and watched it eat and get bigger again. Rath finally pulled out his shiney and sat it in front of him as he watched Eirnae come in. He looked around and put a bit of fur down for Eirnae to sit on, it would be a while. Rath had seen the man in black four times total since he was here, he had tallied them under one of the man in blacks drawings. Rath curiously watched Eirnae for a bit, looking at what it was covered in, then pondered and looked to his foods. He had some left, and so he started making a goopy box to eat on, how he remembered how to make them. He hoped Eirnae liked green boxes, and when he was done, offered it to Eirnae.

Eirnae Slytherin-Natenhar

PostPosted: Tue Mar 21, 2006 10:08 am

It's been a long time since Eirnae's crawled into such a dank, dark, and dingy place as this. Moving forward on her hands and knees, she's reminded of old dungeon crawls and trash strewn alleys. Though Rath's home lacks the debris of either place, the moldy food and the lack of regular air flow well makes up for it.

She spares a look at the walls of this place, or rather the ribs and leather flaps that serve as walls, and scoots over to sit down on the fur Rath set down for her as she looks from one drawing to the next. Her fears of this Pae living on his own come welling up in her heart, and she lets out a precious puff of air. Sometimes she really hates being right. The way he acts, with a mingling of raw instinct tempered by a basic awareness of his true place in the world, had been her warning. This Pae may indeed have a mother figure, but from what she can see, and smell, she has barely been involved with his life.

Considering a drawing that near matches the impromtu one that Rath had drawn for her and Casala earlier, and wondering what the four lines scratched just below it might mean, she accepts the slimey sandwich from Rath automatically. Her gloves keep the texture from fully registering, but her reflex to not eat anything she's handed without inspecting it first saves her from biting into the putrid mess. "Ah... Rath, this looks to be spoiled," she says while holding out the sandwich in front of her. What in the hells is she supposed to do with it now? "I appreciate the gesture, but if I eat this, I will become sick." Speaking of which, why isn't the young man sick if this is all he's been eating? His digestive system couldn't of adjusted that fast, could it?

"What's spoiled?" Casala asks as she ducks into the skeleton, patting at the underside of the left side of its jaw affectionately. "Rath, Jusron suggests that you replace the leathers on his right side. They are wearing a bit thin. Oh, and I would be glad to help you make yourself a smokestack for your fire. Jusron doesn't want you to breathe so much of the ash."

"Cass, slow down, dear. Who is Jusron?" Eirnae asks while edging over to the small fire. She's not quite sure what she'll do once she reaches her goal, but at least her moving gives Casala room to comes over and sit down.

"Oh, my apologies... Jusron is the spirit of Rath's home." Casala touches part of the sun bleached bone with a slight grin. "He's a bit of a grumblepuss, but that's just him trying to hide how kind he really is. He's really very fond of you, Rath. You made him into something special. He's now not just another pile of bones. He appreciates that, so don't worry over the groaning you may hear in the night. That's just him checking to be sure all of the leather is secure."

To Rath, the goopy box was good eating, but he guessed Eirnae meant that his food was bad for Eirnae. Rath was a bit upset at that, was trying to do something nice and ended up trying to hurt the new friends. Rath sighed and crawled over and took the goopy box back with a disappointed look. Looking back to Casala now, he looked beyond understanding of everything that Casala blurted out, like it had all gone over his head. Rath blinked and tried to picked words out with a scrunched up face. No Casala's funny talk was no good for listening to.

Rath put the goopy box in the lap of his squishy friend, maybe it was hungry and would eat sometime. Giving it a pat on the head, Rath picked up his shiney, his favourite thing and gave it a spin. Stopping it in his hand he pushed the big bugs back and watched the sharpies pop out. As per usual, he used them to sharpen up the burnt stick and began to draw on the wall. He eventually came up with this.

Eirnae manages to hide her smile at catching Rath giving the sandwich he had offered her to his plushie, finding the gesture cute despite how it further places Rath into being more a child than a teen in her scope of reality. Her right hand twitches when she hears the 'snick' of blades popping out of Rath's yo-yo, then the eventual eyebrow lift occurs when she observes Rath's sharpening of a stick. Right... She's never seen a weapon of that make before, but she's not about to ask where Rath got it just yet. "Cass, love, I do believe you've just lost your audience," she remarks, gesturing over to where Rath is now adding more art to his walls.

"Audience?" Casala asks, moving closer to the fire before sitting down. "Ah. How to put it in shorter terms... Ah, Rath? Your home, it has a name. It's Jusron. Your home's name is Jusron, and he wants his leathers changed on the right side." There, that should be enough for now.

Casala turns around to watch as Rath finishes his artwork, her hands quickly covering up her mouth to keep from giggling at the sight of Eirnae's stick figure. "Mother, we've been added to Rath's collection."

"So it would seem," the elf replies while taking in the considerable assets that her stick self has. She couldn't possibly look that big, could she? She resists the urge to look down to be doubly sure, and instead looks directly up from where the fire dances surrounded by ash smothered stones. "I can get to work on that chimney for him. Cass, you two seem to be becoming friends, of a sort. I'll be just outside." She gets on all fours once more and crawls out of the structure, pausing only once to pat at her chest, once for each breast. Shaking her head, she makes sure the front flap is left slightly open to better air out the inside.

Rath smiled when he was done and stood back to admire his work, it was a good picture, Rath bashed on the big fuzzy. Turning around he hear Eirnae and Casala talk about him. Casala said his home had a name? Wha? home has a name, called home. He looked at Casala strangely, how can the home say something, it didn't have a mouth.

Rath looked around the wall of tough skin things that the man in black brought and shifted somearound. Guessing that is what Casala was talking about he sat down quietly by the hot place and looked at Casala. Hearing the flap, he watched Eirnae crawl outside and turned back to Casala with an almost disappointed look as if to ask if she was leaving. Rath didn't care, shouldn't really, he was in charge with no one around and could do what he liked.

He spent his time feeding the hot place and watching Casala closely, wondering if Casala could do trick things like grow too.

Casala catches Rath's numerous looks, and chooses to respond to his disappointed one. "Don't worry, Rath. Eirnae should come back inside soon. She just wants to help fix up Jusron." She points to both sides of the skeleton's walls to illustrate her point.

She watches Rath add twigs to the fire, and wonders just what she should say now. Well... "Where did you get all of the leather for your walls, Rath?" she points to the wall again, hoping that he'll understand her question. "And your food?" She points to the sandwich plopped onto the plushie's lap. "Did your mother get them for you?" Her finger then jabs in the direction of one of the drawings of the stick figure with the black hat.

Rath nodded at Casala and looked a bit happier that no one was going just yet. Although he prefered to be alone, he'd been getting a nagging feeling about meeting others, like he shouldn't be alone. Rath passed it off and listened to more of the questions Casala kept asking.

He answered the first one for Casala, the man in black, that one was easy. He wiggled around a bit and pointed at the picture on the wall, the man in black was the one that got it for him. The second one was just as easy, though he scrunched up his face and raised a brow. Kaelin wasn't a mother, though Rath did think about it. The way they described mother, Kaelin sort of fitted it right, hmm Kaelin was nice, but too the foods, he pointed to Kaelin's picture.

Rath blinked next as he headrs a familiar voice and looking he saw the picture of the man in black's eyes glow.

" You know, being called " Mother" is such a demeaning term, neither am I a father. This one takes care of himself... that's all you need to know about me"

And with that, the voice was gone along with the light, and Rath smirked and grabbed up his black stick and scratched another mark for another visit by the man in black.

Casala had started as the eye began to glow, grabbing for the ends of her sash and preparing to hurriedly unwind it. It hadn't been the gradual green pulse of light that alarmed her, it was the sickenly slow trickle of black that leaked out from the portrait, as if Darkness itself had decided to come by and swallow up a couple of ill-prepared Pae'il. She stiffens as she listens to the voice, her hands twitching as her fingers set into a deathgrip on her sash.

She remembers to breathe as the light fades, but unties her sash anyway, squirming side to side to work it from around her waist to wrap it about her shoulders. She isn't about to be caught weaponless again. "That happens often?" she asks, eyeing the image the presence had chosen to possess to deliver its message.
