~A dream that's like a far off memory...~

User Image

Ero quietly closed the hotel room door behind him. He breathed a soft sigh. So much had happened to him in a single night. Ero wasn't even sure if it was all real yet. He hoped that it was.

After a short trip down the elevator to the lobby, Ero started to leave the hotel, but paused. He walked up to the desk and asked if he could leave a note there for Keiji. He scribbled his name and phone number on a piece of paper and left it with the desk clerk before leaving.

When he got back to his apartment, Ero was completely exhausted from walking so much on so little sleep. He collapsed on his bed, sound asleep.

A motel near Narita Airport... 3:15 AM

A young man left one of the motel rooms, adjusting his shirt as he casually pulled the room door shut. He licked a bit of blood from the corner of his mouth. Though the thought of hanging around sleazy motels every night made him feel dirty, they served as an excellent place to find a meal, as long as one wasn’t too choosy about his dinner.

Feeling both full and lazy, the vampire took a seat on the front of his victim’s car. He lay back on the metal hood with his arms folded behind his head. He looked up in time to see an airplane landing on the Narita airstrip. Maybe he could find another human to feast on before sunrise.

((You did such a good job of introducing the hunter and put so much thought into him that I don’t want to take him away from you. A vampire counterpart would be interesting for him. I feel like they would have a more sadistic relationship based on power and the thrill that one could kill the other. I created a vampire character that can either be the hunter’s counterpart or just a body to display your hunter’s skills. Whichever you prefer.))

He left the airport and stepped out onto the streets, surveying for vampires that were getting in a late night meal before the sun chased away the weaker ones. He didn't sense or see any in the near vicinity, but a small scent of blood and the vague trace of one wafted to him thanks to the wind. He smirked.

He had only just arrived and he was already able to detect the presence of a vampire nearby. What luck he had. The red head began stalking in the direction of the origin to the feeling that indicated a vampire. He enjoyed fighting these leeches, cleaning out the trash that threatened normal humans.

The red-head hid his unnatural side behind thick barriers to appear human. As his race remained living, had a heart-beat, body warmth, and blood running in their veins, there was little to distinguish them from humans. It was especially difficult in their original, human-form. Hunter form was when it was glaringly obvious they were not mere humans.

They were the chosen of the gods, created from humans and enhanced to vanquish Vampires. Those of his race lived normal human lives up to a certain point. At that time, they would go through their first transformation, which was always the most painful as your body adapted to its newly maturing/ed powers.

His powers had matured sooner than normal. He remained in a teen's body, whereas it was normally in the twenties that the Noahs powers awakened. Obviously, aging ceased once their powers matured, as immortality was one gift they had been given. Or, near immortality anyway. Just as they could kill vampires -rather, they were the only things that could kill a vampire besides sunlight- vampires could kill them. Or worse, turn them.

If a Noah was turned, surely they would become a truly terrible force of destruction.

Keiji sighed, breath coming out shakily, closing his eyes as Ero shut the door after exiting the room. 'well that could have gone better..' he thought bitterly, sighing once more, this time in frustration more than anything. He usually was asleep around this time, but as it was close to when the others would be getting up, he decided against going to his bed and trying to get some rest.

Instead, he called up room service and ordered breakfast for his human band-mates.

The vampire had his eyes closed, appearing to be asleep but was fully awake and aware of his surroundings. He knew that a female was watching him, a young woman. He could tell by the scent of her perfume. It was sweet and floral; almost overpowering thanks to his heightened sense of smell. He slowly opened his eyes and glanced at the woman, who, in turn, was giving him a curious look.

He flashed the young woman a debonair smile. She would make for a wonderful dessert.

About twenty minutes after Keiji placed his orders, a waiter with a cart full of the food started to the employee elevators. Before he could get on, the man at the front desk stopped him and handed him a folded note to go to Mr. Eitai; the number that Ero left him. The waiter nodded and placed the note in his pocket. When he got to their floor, he first dropped off breakfast to the band mates. He then stopped by Keiji’s door and gently knocked. “Room service. I have a note left for you, Eitai-san.”

~...A far off memory that's like a dream.~
PostPosted: Mon Aug 22, 2011 7:48 pm

Keiji opened the door for the room service waiter and took the paper offered to him. He mumbled a 'thanks' before shutting the door in the man's face. The man looked offended slightly by the singer's attitude, but the rest of the band members said that he was like that and it was nothing personal, which didn't really help but well, Keiji was a rockstar and didn't give a flying ******** what the an thought of his manners.

He looked at the note and was torn between dancing for joy in a childish way that he'd never indulged in even as a human, or throwing the note away and never looking for Hi-- Ero again. But, if he could continue to gain Ero's affections, then consequences be damned! He kept the note, but didn't break out into dance or anything else stupid, though he was grinning like an idiot.

Which would have seriously freaked out his band-mates who had never seen him as anything but moody in private and professionally friendly in public. One of the guys must have known that Ero had been there, and left in one piece as a human, for they walked in and leaned against the door frame.

"So... That boy there was the 'one'? You're beloved that died the day you became immortal?" It was the lead guitarist, a man that had been trying for a few years (since the band formed) to get in his pants and become like him, though he kept pushing the other away. It never seemed to deter him that Keiji was devoted to Hiru or that both were natural Seme's and would not match well in the least. Though, he could admit that Seiichi was indeed attractive, just not for him. And he could hardly see the other being able to stand the first five hundred years of being a vampire, if he even survived the first century.

He merely glanced at the other male, who happened to be annoyingly taller than him... He remembered when the other was still short. Before anything else could be said, the band's manager appeared and informed them that they had work to do and whatnot. The look Seiichi sent him said that the conversation was far from over, but he sent one right back saying that it was over and that he wouldn't say anything more about it. The following days were too busy to contact Ero.

----------------------------------------

He noticed a man laying down on a car, looking casual, and the woman that seemed to catch the man's interest. His eye reacted, the one under bandages and an eye-patch, which brought to his attention that this was a vampire. He walked towards the woman before the other could.

"You should hurry along, ma'am, it's dangerous 'round here at night." He spoke, the ringing tone of his voice exerting something like a vampire's allure onto her. It was a lower-level skill that he had and could employ at a much higher level than most others. It worked only on normal humans, though, and was solely to send them away from danger or to hypnotize them to remove memories.

To any that weren't targeted by this skill, it would sound like a simple suggestion, and even better vampires never seemed to suspect that it was anything more than that. If they knew it was a Noah trait being employed, then it would be more troublesome to deal with the vampires as they would learn immediately that it was a Noah they were up against.

He happened to be one of the few remaining Clan Leader class Noah left, few made it to a point in their power that they attained the final level. He had reached that level long ago, and was taking his abilities to new levels with each year that passed.

((Ummm, yeah, i think that's good for me.... your turn. Sry it took so long to post...))

When Ero returned to his apartment, he did not immediately go back to bed, though he was tired and functioning on only a few hours of sleep. His mind was focused on Keiji and their past and possibly present relationship. Could he really have a lasting relationship with a vampire-obsessed rock star now, just like the strong and loving one that they had in the past? Ero was certainly willing to try, that is if Keiji was still interested in him.

Ero glanced at a nearby clock and was shocked to see that it was past four thirty in the morning. He was thankful that he had the day off from work today. He didn't bother to take off his clothes; Ero plopped into bed, quickly falling into a sound, dreamless sleep.

-----------------------------------------------

The young stranger grabbed the woman's attention away from the vampire, and his voice alone was enough to leave her in a slight daze. She slowly nodded, as if his voice had commanding power over her, and turned away to leave without a second glance to him or the vampire.

The vampire, however, was not pleased with this man's meddling in on his meal. He stood from the vehicle and strode over to the stranger, hands in his pockets, not aware of what he was about to face. "Hey, you." he said with a slight smirk to the red-headed male, "What's your problem? I could've gotten lucky with that girl."

((It's okay. I'm just happy I saw that you posted. I had almost given up on this thread.))

{{please don't. Give up on it that is. If ever i disappear again... pm/spam my arse with howlers (in Gaia form....) }}

The redhead tilted his head slightly to look the other male in the eye. He smirked and let his eye turn golden for the briefest of flashes. "I know you weren't thinking that. She was likely going to be your last meal of the night, no? [Vampire scum]." The insult was spoken in an old language used only by Vampire hunters and only other hunters or Vampires would understand it.

His eye narrowed at the other, silently challenging him to try something. Of course, it would be stupid to engage in a battle of any scale with a vampire in such a public spot, so he would need to convince the other to go somewhere that innocent bystanders wouldn't get caught up in it. Or trip him into making the battle go somewhere away from human eyes.

A slight scowl came to the vampire's face when he heard that ancient tongue. So, this brat was a hunter.... The vampire figured that there was no way that he could easily get away from the hunter without a fight, so he resigned himself to Fate, either live or die. Kill or be killed.

"There's nothing wrong with a man having a snack before he retires." he said in response to the Hunter's first comment. The corner of the vampire's mouth lifted in the slightest of smirks, an odd expression for someone in a life or death situation. "I guess you'll want to settle this in a more private location, Hunter? You wouldn't want to hurt any of your precious humans."

((Okay. I'll remember that.))
PostPosted: Wed Sep 21, 2011 8:57 am

(( Sorry for not posting... been in a funk for a while, and just the day before yesterday we had to put our dog down...))
"There is, when that snack happens to consist of human blood and human lives." His return grin would have shocked anyone that only saw his 'baby-faced' appearance. It was dark and could possibly freak out most vampires. "Oh, the human's don't really matter to me.. I just don't want to let your kind do as they please and keep this kind of thing hidden from the rest of the world." He moved forward in a calm manner, though no one was really paying attention to the two, and jerked his head in the direction of an alleyway a ways off that would be completely ignored by other's.

Once there he let his Noah appearance bleed through, though hid his rank by only revealing a fraction of his power. The vamp might run if he knew he was up against a thousand-year-old Noah General. What he'd said earlier was true, he didn't much care about one or two humans lost, but he did have a thing against vampires getting away with killing said humans. In fact, he rather hated humans for how he'd often been treated with fear and hate by those same human's that he saved from a terrible fate of either dying at the hands of a vampire or becoming vampires themselves. Becoming a vampire was actually the worse of the two, as far as any Noah was concerned.

Some humans thought vampires were cool, glamorous, and whatnot, but it wasn't as fabulous as they made it out to seem. Living forever was a terrible thing if you couldn't find someone to share the eternity with, not only for vampires but Noah as well. The Noah never inhabited the same town, unless it was as large a place as Tokyo or Vancouver... places that were practically multiple towns all clumped together in one.

((and they'll get into a battle that my Noah character ends up getting pressed against a wall in the alley and feels an odd fluttery feeling in his chest... but will deny for a while what the feeling really is... and the battle will need to end without a conclusion for it is close to morning and so that they have reason to meet once more... your vampire will be enough of a distraction that Keiji has more time to woo Ero and convince him that while he is a real vampire, he isn't dangerous or whatever (at least to Ero, for he'd never hurt Ero).

((I'm so sorry to hear that. I understand, so don't worry about not posting for a while. I hope that things start going better for you.))

The vampire listened silently to the Noah as he talked; his expression unfazed. He followed the Noah toward the alleyway, walking just as calmly as the other. He was a little surprised, at first, when the other mentioned his lack of compassion for humans, though he didn’t say anything about it. How could this hunter not show concern for the very things that he was working to save? In the end, though, it didn’t really matter to him, especially when he was mere moments from a fight to the death.

He could feel the Noah’s aura when they were both in the dark alley, and could not help but feel a little bit disappointed by his lack of power. This hunter was so young; there was no way that his full power could’ve awakened yet. He shouldn’t be too much a problem for him.

“Well…” the vampire began nonchalantly, crossing his arms, “Now that we’ve reached the battlefield, I say we cut the small talk and get things started, hm?” In that instant, the vampire pulled back his fist and attacked with amazing speed. It wasn’t a full-fledged attack though; just something to gauge the Noah’s skills in combat.

All the short while it took them to get to a deserted area nearby, he let his thoughts flow undisturbed. It had been over five hundred years since he'd seen another of his kind. They only interacted with each other on rare occasions, such as when there high many high-level vampires in town or when instructing a newly awakened Noah in how to use their power to hunt vampires and remain hidden from the human's. The vampires voice snapped him from his thoughts immediately. He watched the vampire move as though to strike him and easily dodged, aware that it was an attempt to gauge his strength.

He grinned evilly, letting out a bit more of his power, though he was still weak-seeming to the vampire. "How much about the Noah do you know? Obviously you are underestimating me from my young appearance.." He spoke in a bored, conversational tone as he practically glided away from the vampire's strike.

“I’ll admit that I don’t know much about your kind, [filthy Hunter]…” the vampire said simply as he used his fingers to push his hair from his eyes. He could feel that the Noah’s power was indeed rising. He figured that the Hunter had been hiding his power to try and lead him into a false sense of security; a lowly yet effective ruse. “But you do insult me, hiding your power like that. I’m hoping that you’re stronger than this; there is no fun in killing something so weak.”

The vampire then smiled an unsettling smile toward the Noah. “I don’t feel like playing games anymore.” He resumed his attack, this time at his full strength and speed with the intent to kill. He had to end this and fast. It would be morning soon, and he dared not push his luck against the sunrise.

{You didn't.}

The Hunter didn't look the least bit fazed by the derogatory term the vampire used on him, nor did he bristle much when the vampire said that hiding his true power was insulting and that he was so weak-seeming that it would be no fun to beat him. "How's about you wait to decide whether or not it will be fun for you until you actually beat me. Though the likelihood of that is non-existent." He replied in a monotone as he dodged an attack full of killing intent.

He smirked and spoke again. "Well, I see you are no push-over. Though I doubt you are strong enough to last in sunlight yet... So lets see if you can manage to escape in one piece before the sun comes up, hmm?" He challenged tauntingly. He let out two levels of power so that he was releasing fourth-level Noah power. With this boost, he was now able to move much faster. He was also able to access four levels of his clan's special ability. And, should he uncover his eye, he would be able to use an ability uniquely his own.

The rosary he'd held on the plane, which had been dangling from his Bible-ish Holy book... began glowing, well the stones on it were. A green eye slid closed, seemingly leaving him open, as power swirled around him in a shade like that of his eye. The light formed thorny vines, though were without true physical form. He was chanting something in the old language only Hunters and Vampires could speak. Prayers of his Clan to use this kind of power. But one down-side of this particular spell, it required concentration and time to complete.

Thus he would be open for attack and less likely to be able to dodge. This was a third-level skill of his clan's.

The vampire’s jaw tightened. He was indeed strong, but the sunlight was still a weakness to him. He glanced at the sky. It was still dark now, but it would soon lighten with the sunrise. He did not have time to play around with the Noah, though he was curious and wanted to test his strength against the full power of the young Hunter before him. He had to end this now if he wanted to see another night.

He watched intently as green energy began to swirl around the Hunter. His one visible eye was closed and his guard was dropped in order to chant some sort of spell. It seemed too easy, like this was some sort of trick to draw him in, but the vampire had to take this chance no matter the consequences. He wasn’t going to die, not without fighting to the bitter end. The vampire lunged for the Hunter in a last ditch effort; he was going to stop the other before he finished the spell.

Though he heard the male approaching, he was unable to act while performing this spell, hence he was caught and slammed against a wall. The spell was not broken though, and he finished it with the vines becoming solid and starting to wrap around the vampire.

The vampire was hoping to make a quick escape while the hunter was momentarily stunned by the impact against the wall, but it seemed that his plan had failed. He growled angrily as he leapt back, escaping some vines as he used his claws to tear through the ones that managed to wrap around him.
