Ayami bowed and apologized profusely hurrying to the back to get the hair ornaments. She set a few out for display, making certain that each was perfectly placed before moving on to the next.

Akasha went around the whole salon helping to clean it up. She had picked up this habit since she was little of being sort of a clean freak. She got a broom and started to clean the floor and the front area of the salon trying to make it as presentable as possible. She was wondering why is seemed to be somewhat dead around here today.

Turning from her display stand, she nearly bumped into Akasha, one of her co-workers at the salon. "Gomen nasai!" she apologized hurriedly as she hurried to get another broom. "Let me help you with that..." Starting from another corner of the room, she methodically began sweeping the floors. Great Ayami, you're late on your first day, you nearly bump into another girl, and you weren't there to help with the single customer who came by. Wonderful... she chided herself harshly.

Kioku bowed at her customer , Nitta-san and then excused herself. She went into the back room to get more wax. She brought it into the front room and tended to it over the fire. She was excited and hoped that more customers would come in soon.

"Please charge it to Nitta of the Tsuchinobara Okiya. And I will be sure to recommend your salon to others."

Ayami smiled as she finished sweeping, tucking one of her long brown braids behind her shoulder. "Kioku-san! Do you think it will take many days before many of the geisha and maiko decide to visit our salon? After all, Nitta-sama is a very influential geisha!" she remarked cheerfully as she collected up her sweepings and disposed of them.

Akasha smiled at Ayami, "Thank you very much." She said thankfuly. Once finnished she put her broom away and looked around the salon. She was pleased with the cleanliness. She decided to sit down and wait for something to do or if someone needed her help. She looked in the mirror and fixed a strand of her hair agian. Then Akasha turned around and went into the back room. She came out with a couple of pictures."Do you think we should put these up around the salon since it's a little plain right now?" She asked the girls.

Ayami looked over at the pictures with a thoughtful look on her face. "I think pictures would be a good idea...and do we have any of the particular hairstyles we cater to on famous or influential geisha? They could be used as a model for any geisha or maiko to come to the salon..." she suggested.

'Well,' Kioku said, 'Geisha and maiko hairstyles differ from each other. And if a maiko is about to make a debut or is going to become a geisha. her hairstyle is done in a specific way for that occasion. There is one universal hairstyle that both maiko and geisha wear though. But that is a splendid idea! We could go to the different okiyas and the tea house and show people one example of what they can get done. And we should tell them our salon is located in the Geisha Quarters Town. And that they can come to the salon as many times as they want under that single charge. (Which they are being charged even if they don't come to our salon.'

Akasha was already putting the pictures up in different places around the salon. She put them in the perfect spot so that the walls did not look bare. "There." Akasha said pleased with the salon. "Well, we could show stuff that we have done. Like have a photo shoot or something. Even if it is each of us in one of the hairstyles. Though the hairstyles are usually one of a kind we should still show them so they can still get an idea of how we are overall." She said as she looked at the two girls."I think that would could work." She smiled at the two girls as she took one more look around the salon. making sure there was nothing else that needed to be done.

"I agree!" Ayami nodded energetically. Realizing there wasn't much else to be done with the shop devoid of customers, she fidgeted nervously, picking up the broom once more and sweeping invisible dust off the floor. She had a habit of needing to do something if there wasn't anything about to be done.

Kioku smiled at Mizu. 'Thank you. We will need permission to go to the different okiyas the advertise. Hopefully more people will come' Kioku walked into the bacl room, rearranging all the boxes.
