Semiremis Call Me Apple Semiremis That's pretty much the impression I got from the Williams interview. Ahmadinejad is a good speaker, a very persuasive one especially when it comes to a lot of university, progressive, very far left leaning liberals in the US. He completely avoided the main question and redirected it on to the injustice he sees regarding the Palestinians so I couldn't say for sure what his views are and how much he denies. On a side note, he asked for evidence of the Holocaust, why hasn't anyone provided him with some? So far it seems like all of us in this Guild are in agreement that the Holocaust is a very sad and tragic reality but for those who aren't, does anyone actually try to show them the evidence they are looking for, or do we just scream at them and call them racists? If we do give them the evidence do you think it would do any good? I sort of think it goes a lot deeper, which is what you sort of pointed out already, I think resentment over what went down in Palestine over 50 years ago, ignorance, or just plain hatred is the culprit behind the denial in many cases. But that's just some of my own thoughts, this is something I haven't put much thought into since the numbers of those who deny the Holocaust seem very small (it hasn't really been brought to my attention much at all). I think all this stemmed from the 2009 UN conference. You may want to check out a video of it. The second link was a video excerpt of it right? OMG yes my mistake.

Never in my life have I met someone who thinks a large amount of time passed is fact compared to something smaller with more evidence. Next your going to tell me Anderson Ville, the Union Prison, was actually a nice place where they took care of their prisons. I got sick in my stomach reading your posts and now have to go to the bathroom after having shellshock flashbacks of my great grandfather fighting in the war.

@pg 2: There is proof that Jesus existed, even if it's not proof enough to convince everyone. The Bible, and there was a whole documentary about them having His burial shroud. The whole thing about people denying the holocaust is stupid and those people are idiotic and callous, but I think anyone who thinks Jesus didn't exist is just way too skeptical.

The Bible is not exactly evidence of Jesus existing. Saying that would also mean that Lord of the Rings could be a Bibliography. However, if you want to believe it is true than go ahead. Just don't say it is evidence. As for a documentary, that can't be evidence either for many large reason as the same as the reason for the Bible.
I believe the holocaust existed because there is no doubt it did exist. My family was even alive then to remember it. As for Jesus, I believe there is a possibility he existed but his powers was overly exaggerated. Sorry for being too skeptical considering I have no reason to believe in Jesus unless you want to count his miracles. However, I could twist that around and question why you don't believe in Allah's miracles.

The Holocaust has pictures. Videos. The ruins of concentration camps. Blueprints of Auschwitz. More eyewitnesses than I want to know. Over 6 million people disappearing from the world. Jesus may have proof but the Holocaust has a hell of a lot more. The two don't even compare.

LotR was clearly written as a fantasy whereas the Bible from the start was written to record the Jewish history. It has genealogies (sp?) and was considered sacred, not just some fantastic book. I'm not saying the evidence is enough that skeptics can't deny it, but as the Holocaust deniers prove, people can take skepticism too far. I'm not saying it compares either, but that doesn't mean I've seen any real good reason to deny that Jesus existed except to be difficult. And I never said I didn't believe there weren't Islamic miracles, but I from what I can recall, Muhammed didn't perform any, and I think evil spirits did those miracles to lead people away from Christ.

Did you not happen to see the post explaining that my Jewish friend believe in Jesus? I do not know much about Judaism, most of what I know is from her and she told me that every good Jew knew that Jesus existed. He was not who the Christians believe his was, but that the person did exist.

However, both could be used to say it is used to describe what happened in the past. Neither have a correct label of fiction or non-fiction.
I can't believe in Jesus because all the evidence there is is a book written a long time ago. That isn't enough for me at all.
Muhammad did perform a few good miracles such as the girl who cried sharp crystals. Point being, I was implying that a belief can't be pushed by miracles.
