Joshua looked away from the wyvern general for a moment to nod at Ahili. "Thanks, I'll earn that coin back." He grinned looking back at Vaida again. "I suppose we'll have to have our conversation on my return?" He asked her. "You seem.... interesting. Or at least that’s what I've heard." Turning away from her he stepped forwards to join the others chosen to go. As he passed the snake man Joshua reached out and clapped him on the shoulder. "Don't worry so much! Either luck will be with us or it won't!" He exclaimed while using his free hand to toss a coin in the air, the coin lazily spun high up in the air with the sun glinting off it. The sight warmed Joshua's heart putting him in a fine mood as he caught it with the same hand, slowly opening it up underneath Ganon's chin.
The coin was gone.
"But if life's taught me anything skill comes into play as well." He said flourishing; he reached over to the snake woman and clenched her hand into a fist in his own. When she opened her hand she would find the coin in her palm.
Joshua chuckled as he took his place with the volunteers

Ninian simply nodded at Alihi's decision. The tactician knew what she was doing, and the dancer would trust her. "I understand, Alihi," she said, moving to stand with those who would be staying to act as a decoy.
Taking a deep breath, Ninian settled her scarf around her shoulders, mentally preparing herself for the battle to come. She hoped that no illusions would distract her, nor any memories or images appear to haunt her and break her concentration. She could not afford to get hurt. She had a promise to keep.

Charice turned, listening as Ganon spoke. She was taken inside? Dammit, now there are two people to rescue! Blossom, you'd better be safe up there...

Charice turned, listening as Ganon spoke. She was taken inside? Dammit, now there are two people to rescue! Blossom, you'd better be safe up there... "I see..." she said, not sure what else to add. After all, the Leon bit... not the best of times...
She hadn't been sure what Leon had been crashing through previously. All she knew was that at the time, she was glad she'd just come out and wrapped a towel around her body a few seconds before Leon came barrelling through the wall. While scaring the bajesus out of her (and almost dropping the towel in Leon's presence in the process), she still had the sense to NOT kill Leon due to one piece of evidence that saved his life:
"...The hell is this wall made out of CARDBOARD for!?"
Though she couldn't help but snort at Ganon's semi-threat. He came out here to save Alihi's daughter, and instead take out a gigantic bandit group... yup, I'd say we missed the boat on our objectives thus far.
But she grinned, and placed her foot in the right stirrup to mount up.
"Heh. Well, we've got the right place, we're well-armed, and we're many. We'll be fine, I'm sure."
Maybe it was the thrill of complete victory over the bandits that made Charice confident, but hey, they'd done well this far. They just needed to do well once more.

♦ ◄ALIHI► ♦ ————————————
Alihi rattled off a mental list of things she needed to do before rushing off to the tower. One, decide who is going where. ... Check. Two, make sure I have a weapon. She patted her side, reassured by the fact that there was indeed her blade there. ... Also check. Three, make sure that everyone else is ready. She glanced at the group, smiling slightly. ... As good as we're going to get. Four... oh, just forget about four for now! Just forget about it... "... Well! I don't see much point and waiting around here anymore. The longer we wait, the worse things could potentially get." Alihi didn't want to say that, but it was the truth; the best thing to do would be to get Blossom and Amara out of that tower as soon as possible. She pulled out her rapier, pointing towards the tower. "Now, let's go save our friend!"
Together the group advanced forward, the spire becoming closer and closer with each step they took. (( My writing ability, it is gobbled up by the beast known as NaNo! Dx Fffff. ))

"Onward march!" Isadora yelled out at the battalion before rode toward the tower with Alihi and the others. Despite that her speed had decreased due to the terrain, she would use her strength and defense to make this mission succeed.
As they approached toward the spire, Isadora saw dark silhouettes moving. The paladin narrowed her eyes to get a better look. It was not easy to see in the dark. If only daylight or giant bonfire was there for the group to see.
The dark silhouettes were in form of odd shapes. It couldn't be humans. Humans didn't stand or lean like limped trees. And it seemed that the figures were moving too. So it seemed those things were alive.
It was then that the figures began to form into monsters. So there were monsters around the area? Well, that would be taken care of. They had fought monsters previously throughout the events. It would make no difference. However, it was the number of beasts that the paladin was unsure. If there were too many, it would surely delay their mission to save Amara and Blossom. However, if they created enough noise and battled the monster, it would get Razevi's attention. The only question the paladin wondered was would Razevi be bothered by their battle. Only one way to test out the theory.
"Everyone! There are monsters up ahead of us!" Isadora shouted to get everyone's attention and awareness. She then pointed her sword in the direction of the monsters before she galloped. "Prepare to fight and don't forget your mission! CHARGE!"

Ganon looked up at the call to charge, then suddenly grabbed Aruna and gave her a long, deep kiss. As soon as he pulled back, he murmured, "Get to the back, I left my pack there with some elixirs and bandages, and a jug of water. I'll see you after the fight, okay? Stay out of trouble." He grinned, then held her close for a moment before letting her go.
His guitar was in his claws a moment later, and he plucked out a few notes as he approached Ninian.
"Ninian, think you can follow along? Once I get this started, if you can match me, I think we might be able to tip the tides of this fight." He grinned and began to pluck out a few notes, walking toward the tower with her.
The song began to form slowly at first, as if rising out of the notes he was playing, but quite soon a quick and uplifting melody sprung forth and began to wind through the air, bolstering the strength of their comrades!

"AWAAAAARR!"
It was a great, guttural sound, its voice booming over the battlefield like a clap of thunder.
Behind the assembled monsters stood a towering gate. A large, hulking figure stood atop this gate, his three heads high and every eye ablaze with rage and hunger. Each head was fashioned after the face of an ancient direwolf, pointed ears as sharp as the beast's yellowed teeth and the spire that rose behind it.
Cerberus let loose a deep, growling cackle that was almost human in nature. The minotaurs, mauthe doogs, gwyllgi, revenants, wights, gargoyles, mogalls, and gorgons that comprised the newly arranged guardian force below all paused to regard the creature. It appeared only his middle head was addressing them while the other two were sightseeing.
"THIS IS RICH! MY PREY WOULD COME TO ME RATHER THAN I TO THEM!" the creature boomed uproariously.
"IT WAS AS PROMISED! YOU WORTHLESS CARCASSES, FASHION YOUR FANGS!! IT'S DINNERTIME!!"
And on command, the tower's guardians ran forth to meet their invaders while Cerberus stood atop the gate, overlooking it all.
The Magvellian monsters rushed mindlessly into the combat while their tower-spawned brethren hung back, their obsidian skin marking them as native entities of this peculiar structure. They were more Gothic in appearance and seemed to prefer calculating the odds of the battle rather than rushing headlong into the conflict. Obsidian gargoyle Spawn perched on their pedestals, not even bothering to ruffle a stony wing as they gazed on, watching the Magvellian monsters fall upon their visitors.

A roar emanated from the direction of the tower, sending chills down Charice's spine. Whatever was making that noise was freaking HUGE. ...Worse yet, it could apparently speak human tongue.
...And worse still, it wanted to eat them, along with a horde of bloodthirsty monsters. TERR-ific.
It was rather scary, watching a horde of freaks and mutants mindlessly charging right at them. However, it was their appearance which made them so scary-looking, and she'd seen them before last year. They were a nasty lot, yes; but she'd been left with the impression that they only had the upper hand when resistance was disorganized, sparse, and terrified. They just charged pell-mell at them with no sense of tactics. They would have been quite a laughable lot, these monsters, if they were regular army soldiers.
Now, THESE monsters would be dealing with a group that was organized, numerous, and although nervous, certainly not terrified. ...Much.
Aphrodite beat her wings, rising slowly into the air, moving higher and higher, giving her rider a clear (albeit dark) view of the battlefield and offering her the choice of target. Not that it took Charice too long... "Those eyeballs can fly, and if memory serves, cast nasty spells, Aph. Let's take care of those first."
The mogalls and gargoyles appeared to be the primary aerial threats; fortunately for Charice (and perhaps not so much for Mihira and Vaida), the Mogalls were out in front, having a seemingly easier time flying through the air than their winged allies. But unlike gargoyles, they'd have to stop in order to concentrate for casting.
I'm glad they stop to do that, Charice decided as she plunged her lance into the first giant eyeball, the mogall bursting apart into shadowy globs as it fell to the desert below.

Joshua ran at the word charge keeping pace with Ahili as they neared he noticed quite the horde of nasty things waiting for them.... along with a three headed dog. "Wheeew!" He whistled. "Thatsa big pooch, if it tries’s to stop us I've got a nice big bone for it." He drew Audhulma as he spoke as it looked like he'd need it for the coming bit and the resistance to magic didn't hurt none either.
"Ahili. Look. Some of those monsters are staying back.... I don't recognize them from Magvell. Looks like they're going to be right in our way... maybe theirs a back way in... Or we're going to have to re-think this a bit." Joshua might have had more to say but at that moment the first Maelduin reached him, hooves pounding in the sand and swinging a large axe at Joshua who rolled under it and came up on one knee the Ice Blade slicing through its legs at the joints. A high pitched scream could be heard as the beast fell three legs less then it had started. A flare of Joshua's sword and it was headless as well.
But before the sword master could continue on a Wight lurching at a faster pace then most was heading towards him. Quickly sheathing Audhulma in his belt Joshua pulled his Steel Sword out and charged it spinning away from its clawed hands at the last moment getting its back and cutting a swath through it, severing its spine and causing the creature to crash to the sand moaning in its constant creepy moan.
He looked back over at Ahili slightly out of breath spinning was flashy and effective but it could be tiring. "No sweat." He said raising his sword to meet the next foe.

Now I'm stuck here But I don't belong here ~Ninian~As they walked onwards toward the tower, Ganon approached the dancer. Plucking out a few notes on his guitar, he asked, "Ninian, think you can follow along? Once I get this started, if you can match me, I think we might be able to tip the tides of this fight."
Ninian closed her eyes--eye--listening to the melody as they kept walking. Slowly, the song began to take shape. Its uplifting melody rose, floating across the sand. Ninian found the rhythm, found the underlying patterns that gave the music its shape.
"Yes," she whispered, losing herself in the music. With the beginning of the next phrase, she began to dance, letting her body follow the music as it would, eventually settling into a pattern of her own, different from her normal dance, but one that suited the music Ganon played. It felt good to really stretch her legs and to dance with the flow of the music. When she finally settled in on the patterns, Ninian added the knack of hers that would enable to dance to lend power to her allies. Having pulled out Briseschal once again after she had finished her dances for Rei, Ninian felt the scarf adding its power to her dances as she twirled it through the air.So . . . there is some good in it after all. . . .An unearthly roar almost broke Ninian's concentration, the dancer stumbling in her steps as she turned to see what in Learania had made such a terrible noise.
An army of monsters was assembled before the tower, an enormous creature seated atop a high gate. The monster had three heads, and was obviously the leader of this horde. Creatures, the likes of which the dancer had never seen, charged at their small army. Some of the monsters appeared to be smarter than others, holding back while their companions, for lack of a better term, rushed the Learanian forces.
As per her promise, and in keeping it, Ninian stayed almost at the back of the army, dancing for anyone who looked tired or worn as the battle raged on.
The battle to save Amara had begun. I wanna be where you are Maybe I'm not so far from home

Shaking now, trembling,is a light all alone not a thing to heal the pain...it disappears -Ephraim- -------------------- Ephraim kept running, dodging and twirling around the enemies. Only attacking when neccessary. The killer lance was reaching its limits and there was no way Ephraim was going to enter weaponless...again. That fight against the bandit really did a number on his weapon. He dived, sliding against the sands as one of these..creatures, tried to attack him head on. Joshua suggested finding a back way into the tower. Ephraim looked up at him before rolling to his feet. "Wish to say there was, but from what we know all together, there is only one way in..unless we somehow magically are able to climb in through the windows. I just don't see a back entrance without exploding the tower" Even if there was a back entrance, there was no way the enemy would be careless enough to leave it unguarded. There were more of these monsters around here. ((I'm not creative today..mainly cause I really need to finish my cosplay stuff like now )) -------------------- with no return, the memories flow all being swept away toward the end of this world

When FD had arrived with the group, he’d seemed to lose track of who was where. He’d conversed with Aruna on the way over, getting to know her better. But she had attached herself to the bard, Ganon, and he didn’t want to intrude on them. He’d heard Roy call out to him to tell him to watch over Ninian, but when FD looked for the lord, Roy was already on his way. No need to slow him down, FD thought. The dragon had no idea what Roy had been through and didn’t want to distract him.
And now, the tactician they’d come to assist to begin with announced the strategy she intended to use. She’d take a small group in the tower while everyone else remained outside as decoys. It wasn’t much of an issue for FD as to where he’d do best: in the open desert, his Flametongue would be impeded by nothing – if anything, once transformed, his scales would help to keep him cool while the heat would only contribute to his attack. He had no idea if his Flametongue would be appropriate in the Tower. There was the chance of the architecture being too restricting, and him not having enough space to transform and move, much less attack. And experience with attacking indoors before at a certain party was enough for him to know better. No, he’d fair much better outside, and a dragon would make an excellent decoy, he figured. In his natural form, FD wasn’t exactly easy to miss.
And more importantly, he needed to protect Ninian, who had already taken her place among those who were remaining as decoys. He approached the dancer, his beloved’s sister. And OH, as if there wasn’t an interesting history between the two of them! FD remembered being pulled from the Dragon’s Gate. Ninian had come awfully close to killing him that fateful day. Almost killed by the sister of the person you love, the irony of it all! But she hadn’t, thankfully, and if not for the efforts of her party, Nils among them, he’d never have ended up in Learania to begin with (much less meet Nils). And that would have been the greatest tragedy.
“It looks like it’s you and me, Ninian.” FD told the dancer. “I’ve always wanted to participate in a battle with us on the same side,” he grinned. “So please, allow me to be your personal bodyguard. If my work with Kaoru… um, I mean Nils, is any indication, we’ll make an awesome team.” FD caught himself saying. It was awkward to refer to Nils… as Nils – he was Kaoru to FD. “Besides…” he went on, “we’ve got people we need to return to.” Ninian was already dancing at that point, along with Ganon the Bard, so FD transformed at that point into his natural, massive, Flametongue-loving draconic self.

“Fine. I’ll be a good girl and go to back,” she said with a flirty pout. "Take care of yourself. I don't want to have to heal you."
After the kiss and embrace from her beloved, Aruna slithered to the back of the group to act as a healer if the generic clerics failed to do their jobs for one reason or another. As she did so she watched Ganon and Ninian perform the Song of the Fleetfoot together. Her childhood fantasy took over her imagination. For a few brief moments the nagini imagined herself as the dancer, moving so delicately and with such elegance upon the battlefield.
The loud roars of a large three-headed beast commander awoke her from her daydream. The enemy began their charge, but Aruna could only watch from the back. Her attention should have been following her allies in case any were to get themselves injured, but it suddenly switched to FD as he transformed into a huge red dragon. He had told her in their previous conversation that he was a dragon, but she was still a bit shocked. This was her first time seeing such a magnificent being. ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ ※ Lethe had been traveling alongside her twin sister the majority of the journey. She didn’t particularly enjoy walking on hot sand, but she wasn’t going to complain. Finally they reached their destination. This obsidian tower as the beorcs referred to it.
The lizard bard had offered a strategy and the beorc tactician made it official. Lethe decided to stay with main group. And she was proud of her choice. It meant she got to fight a large group of monsters instead of sneaking around inside the tower looking for some kid she didn’t even know. The closest she had ever seen to these wild monsters were her feral kin. It didn’t matter though. After hearing the musician’s song and watching the dancer dance, Lethe felt herself become faster. This performance gave the cloaked feline confidence.
“They dare call us prey! Let’s show them what cat laguz are capable of, Lyre,” she ordered to her sibling. The Gallian captain transformed to her animal form and charged headstrong.
Not much time passed before her first encounter. A mauthe doog challenged the cat to a duel. It lunged at her. Its fangs ready to snap. She easily leapt to the right to dodge the attack. With her sharp claws extended, Lethe pounced on the mauthe doog. She dug her claws deep into its left shoulder and kicked off it with her hind legs. As she landed on her feet, she heard the dog howl in pain. Quickly the cat readied herself for another attack. This time she was going to scratch its throat. The monster thrust forward with its jaws wide open. Lethe ducked down as its teeth came closer. Suddenly the laguz stabbed her paw into its mane and swung downward with great force.
The beast was slain. But it was just one of many. Lethe prepared herself for another brawl. She had plenty of energy left to fight with in this form. Even if she were to run low, there was a pouch of Olivi Grass to reenergize her.
