Elvis took sera's and one again and nodded. " Allright, ca't be too hard..." he said, walking with her onto the dance floor. He looked around curiously at the other's around them. " well..." He said, moving to place his free hand on her waist, trying to more or less look like the grown up besides them. "okay..." he breathed to himself. he figured they had the position down...now they just had to move around. He took the initiative to lead Sera around slowly. " Do you think we're doing it right?" He asked her, looking over at the other dancing couples.

Her heart was more or less attempting to drill a hole out of her chest. Sera was blushing like crazy, but spinning with Elvis on the dance floor like the adults near them. "I think we're doing it right..." She returned, glancing at the real couples as they danced. The young female was enjoying herself at the very least, even if it was kind of embarrassing.

From a corner table, the odd faerie stifled a yawn as she stooped to rest an ebony cheek against the loosely closed fist of her right hand. So far, Thara was far from impressed. While she did admire the costumes, some of which were quite elaborate, the teen found herself wondering why there was so little actually partying going on. Save for a crazed blue girl, no one seemed to be breaking loose. What was this she had heard about lampshade hats and underwear on the chandelier?
"What an adult sort of boring mess this is," Thara muttered to herself. She supposed a calm atmosphere was the best bet for a casual observance of typical Pae'il behavior. However, she wished she could be home with her sister instead; she hated leaving the child alone.
The girl twitched her elongated wings, causing them to shimmer in the soft light - warm orange candlelight dancing off of warm orange wings. The gypsy dress itched a little; clothing was a new concept to the fae who rarely felt the need to wear anything more than a cloak to both conceal herself and to brace against a wintry chill. With a small soft sigh, Thara lifted the glass of punch to sip.

Between the sudden outburst and the awkward looks being exchanged, Takeko guessed that she must have missed something while speaking with Faroth. However, Aysu's outburst didn't seem to be exactly helping the young men, so perhaps a distraction was in order. Putting on a wide smile, Takeko seized control of the situation and reached out for Texas' and Saffron's hands, pulling them lightly with a chuckle. "Come on, boys. This is supposed to be a party! Let's stop just standing around and listening to the music!"
After only a brief tug of invitation, she released their hands, reaching for Aysu's instead as she backed towards the dance floor. Contact was a good way to make a connection with someone, not only physically, but emotionally, and worked well to emphasize her offered invitation.
Unfortunately, she wasn't paying much attention to whether or not her path to the dance floor was completely clear and she let out a brief squeak of surprise as she backed into someone.
Eudora jumped at the unexpected contact, interrupted in her search for a chair or a stool to climb on to peer behind one of those paintings. Automatically turning to put a hand out to steady the other woman, she started apologizing, "Ooo, I'm sorry, miss!"
Takeko turned, taking in the pretty young Fae with a glance and reaching up to pat the hand on her shoulder. "Oh, no, it's all my fault, dear! I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going. You're alright, I hope?"
"I'm just fine, no worries, ma'am." She smiled, briefly turning and waving at the others in the group. She had no idea who any of them were, but she could always use new friends! "Oh," she exclaimed, as if the thought just occurred to her, "have any of you seen any good chairs around that I could move? Or a stool? Something I could stand on anyway?"
As if things weren't awkward enough, Aysu was yelling at them and his mom wanted them to all go dancing now? How was that supposed to help? Wait...and just who was going to be dancing with whom? This seemed about to cause more problems than there were already...
Oh thank the Guardians for convenient distracting Fae.

Every light in the great hall flickered briefly, noticeable enough to catch the attention of the gathered Pae without frightening any of the younger ones present. Before the light flared brightly again, the sound of a gong echoed through the mansion, the music falling silent as the crowd did the same.
At the far end of the great room, a cloaked figure climbed up on to a table to address the guests, coughing briefly as if clearing his throat. Whether by some trick of the flickering lights, or of the stranger's costume itself, nothing could be seen beyond the shrouded darkness of the hood, nor of the over-long sleeves. The cloak cascaded to the floor where it brushed lightly against the edge of the table. However, thoughts of a spectral spirit perhaps might be given second thought, as it was obvious that there was SOME form shifting beneath the billowing cloak. The movement was too natural to be a trick or illusion of some type.
Once relative silence was achieved, a deep voice rang out strongly from the depths of the cloak's darkness.
"Greetings, and welcome to my humble abode!" A discrete chuckle followed. "I am pleased to see how many of you have come to celebrate tonight. I promise you all, this will be an unforgettable evening and those in attendance will be lucky enough to witness it in person!"
The figure gave a flourished bow and a welcoming sweep of his arm, the hood glancing back up at the crowd. "Please, enjoy the music and the food and one another's company. The night is yet young and the moon is still on the rise!" With a final bow, the figure stepped gracefully down from the table. He glanced around once more, then the cloaked figure melted into the crowd, like darkness into the shadows.
The host's speech finished, music began pouring from the still instruments in the corner and the soft murmur of chatter amonst Pae'il began to swell once more.

Before Texas could ponder on who exactly he was supposed to dance with--he knew who he would like to dance with, but things were awkward enough as was--a cloak began to fluidly move and speak out a greeting to the Pae'il. How was he doing that? He supposed it was the same way he was making the instruments play with no music; this man certainly knew how to set an atmosphere.
Just as quickly as he appeared, the cloak left, blending right into the crowd as it seemed to disappear entirely. ...Texas appended to his previous thoughts that this man definitely knew how to set up an atmosphere. Unfortunately, the disappearance of the seemingly possessed cloak left Texas confronted, once again, with the situation of socializing with a man Texas was clearly incapable of talking to without saying something stupid or absolutely nonsensical.
There was a problem when icebreakers didn't seem to be doing their job. ...Well, it worked somewhat, until Saffron had to go and touch him. It was meant as an expression of friendliness, Texas was sure, but his mind was taking everything in the entirely wrong direction. Why couldn't he keep it in control? Texas could always keep himself in control. Right?
And there he was, more deep in his own thoughts than conversing with the angelic one next to him. This wasn't getting him anywhere. Texas cleared his throat awkwardly before offering, "Well, they certainly know how to set an atmosphere here. Got any idea why that cloak could have been floating?" The Frankenpae managed to grasp onto a solid topic without stuttering like a teenager who had just realized what attraction was. This was good.
When Takeko reached for her hands, Aysu only grinned widely and grasped Takeko's hands in turn, following the angel towards the dance floor. Unfortunately, the angel wasn't the only one not paying any attention, and the naiad didn't seem to notice that they were set for a crash course with, and crashed into, a darker fae in a beautiful Grecian-styled dress.
Hm. Where were all of these pretty Pae'il when she was going towards Noel? Maybe they could have distracted Aysu long enough to get out of that mess before the fallout that inevitably came later. ...Ugh, didn't matter now. And where was that voice coming from? The naiad managed to come out of her daze long enough to catch the disembodied cloak disappear before conversations slowly began once again.
"A chair?" The naiad glanced around the perimeter of the room, looking for something that may have been helpful. "Well, there's some decorated chairs over there near some of the tables, if you want one of those," offered Aysu, as she pointed over towards the side. For the moment, Aysu was pushing down the urge to say something flirtatious to the darker fae in front of her, figuring that she had already charmed someone tonight as was.
The naiad wasn't a pimp, after all. That was a pimp's job.

"Well, that was dramatic, wasn't it?" inquires Elizabeth dryly to Kieran. "Kieran?" she asks, looking around. He was only here a moment ago....
Ah, there he was. Wandering toward a pretty faerie with that stupid grin on his face. Elizabeth grabs another snack off a floating tray and watches him. This should be entertaining.
Kieran approaches the beautiful, mesmerizing Pae with a suave smile. Oh yeah, he was in the zone! And in this mobster costume, the ladies wouldn't be able to resist him!
"Hey there," he says to her, leaning against the wall and putting one foot up on it. "Can I get you a drink?"

"Well dear Dracula, shall we find people to meet?" Bel grins at her brother and nods at the crowd once the host had stepped from his spot on the table and sumarily vanished again. There were certainly people out there she'd yet to meet, and she was eager to do just that.
"We shall..." he draws his cloak up in front of his face with a sweep of his arm "And a snack too" he grins knowing he was being silly. He lets the cloak drop with a laugh and leads his sister into the crowd

Seraphim sighed, rolling his eyes. This figure was dramatic if nothing else. The male angelic turned to his mate, spinning her into a dance. He didn't ask her what she thought of this hooded form, if she wanted to speak of it, that was her choice. He wasn't going to mention it, best to keep it at the back of his mind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sera blinked, looking up at the hooded man. She clung some to Elvis in response, but kept silent as that seemed thats what the big guy wanted.
She whimpered lightly when he disappeared into the crowd, mildly scared of the figure. The female was glad to have Elvis there to cling to. He was a good source of courage sometimes.
Elvis stopped when the hooded figure appeared, a bit surprised to feel sera clinging to him. He looked at her and pet her hair, nothing was gonna happen to them, it was a party.
Carter watched quietly, chuckling a bit when alister whined in fear and hid his face in his leg. " aw..." He breathed and picked up the little pae to comfort him. " it's allright alister, it's just part of the show," carter reassured him and pet his back to make him feel better.
Thara glanced up from her musings and cast a wary eye on the young faun. It's not that she didn't find his attention flattering... it's that she also found his machismo a little, well, cheesy. Despite her best efforts to look sternly unamused, the corners of the fae's mouth tweaked upward. She could barely maintain composure and force down the girly giggle that tried in vain to escape.
Lifting her glass of punch toward him, she responded in a warm pleasant tone. "Got one, but thank you." She thought about it a moment then tilted the glass toward him. "To your health," she toasted before sipping the punch again. "May your legs always reach the ground and you whiskers never whiten." The fae hoped her joke wasn't lost on the other teen, that he caught the teasing manner in her voice.
Ella looked around for Kali. She had been ditched by her babysitter as soon as they hit the door. "That heifer!" the little faun stamped in agitation when she found the teen angel hot trotting on the dance floor. "DITCHY MCDITCHYPANTS! How dare she leave me alone, that mellonface!"
The child had half a mind to march over there and kick Kali in the shin when she spotted it.
The refreshment table.
...snacks....
CANDY!!!!!
Delighted giggles of joy escaped the little faun in white and she trotted merrily toward the giganto bowl of candy sitting at the edge of the table. She had almost reached it when she spotted something vaguely familiar following a floating tray. It kinda looked like her "big brother" but covered in purple mud and such. "F-faroth????" Ella squealed, eyes sparkling.
Could it be? The last time she saw him they were both notedly smaller, but she couldn't be mistaken... could she?
Kieran touches his chin, hoping that whiskers had grown there while he wasn't looking. "Thanks," he says, lifting his glass to her, just a little disappointed. "Mind if I join you? I'd be honored to bask in the presence of such a beautiful woman." He smiles his signature smile again.
immortalmina Apollo was surprised by the girl pulling him to dance, but he just went with it. Once she introduced herself the fae smiled. "I'm Apollo. Why do you need to get away from his eyes?" He had to get away from his dad for plenty of reasons...just never ones that were his father's fault. Although, having new sisters was still weighing on his mind. "Nice to meet you Ama." "Oh, he's simply being a tad over-protective... He thinks me dressing in this costume is going to attract unwanted attention or, even worse, make me go down a path of 'filthy lechery and seduction'." She recited her father's remark with a roll of her eyes.
Looking around as the lights flickered, Ama's eyes rested on the cloaked figure and instinctively she took a step closer to Apollo. "Our host I presume....?" She muttered softly once the speech was done.
Grendell watched the crowd, headed towards the starry angel dressed as a vampire. He didn't appear to see her that was not pleasing in the least. Of course, before she could force him to notice her, the man appeared. At least, she thought he was a man. A woman, judging by her mother, would rather show off then hide completely. A man on the other hand, probably enjoyed this mysterious air. That theory that women like mysterious men was preposterous. In her mind, if they were hiding anything, they were dangerous to her and her family.
When the theatrics were done, she looked back to the man she was seeking but he was off. Fine then, with a dismissive snort, she looked around her for others. In a room full of people, they were there yet not. Glancing this way and that, confidence was pulled on was she tried to find someone to interact with.
Morena was intent on the host of the party who appeared. She sought through his disguise, but it appeared the shadows served him, or he had practiced this a lot for it to work that way. It was a trick she could pull off without much effort.
Her eyes tried to follow him, but she failed. This was going to be a long night, but with a grin the fae believed, it ought to be interesting.
Apollo didn't really know what was wrong with her dress. Then again he liked Greek stuff and went as a God a few years back or what it last year? He couldn't remember now. "I think you look great." He smiled to her.
As the lights dimmed he couldn't help but glow and even get out his saber. He was instantly worried that his father's darker side took him over and had found the party. It would be the perfect thing to lure him as he would love to 'play' with all these people.
After the host was seen and spoke Apollo put away his saber as he knew it wasn't his father and hopefully everything was okay. "I guess so. He was interesting."
