Roy glanced over at Mel. He then sighed before he spoke.

"Yes, FD's my Uncle. I'm surprised you didn't choke like you did last night when you heard that Ninian was my mother."
he said with a smirk.

He then heard Elly speak. Magvel? Wasn't that where Amelia was from? He wasn't sure if Elly was familiar with the name, so he didn't bring it up. But then his stomach rumbled. He wanted cake now. Roy looked around for one of the waitresses or waiters (if there were any), wondering when he would be able to order the cakes he wanted.

Melethia blushed a bit of embarssement. So someone DID put two and two together.

"I was hoping no one noticed that." She mummbled. "And I don't have food in my mouth like I did last night Roy."

"It would be hard not to notice you choking conviniently at the same time those words were said. And you happen to have cake, so it still counts." said the young lord.

It was then that he noticed that a waitress was already at the table. Oh. Um...what did he want again? Vanilla cake? No. It had to be chocolate. Moist chocolate. The kind that had that succulent flavor when you bit into it. It had to be that kind of chocolate. What shade of chocolate? Dark, Devil's Cake, white chocolate? Devil's cake sounded nice...but no. And...it had to have icing.

"I want...chocolate cake...with icing. Lots of icing on the top." he told Lyre. "And for a drink...milk sounds good."

Why milk? It certainly wasn't because he was still a growing boy. No...it's because milk complimented cake, like it compliments cookies.

"Oh man." She blushed from embarrassment even more. She looked at the tea cake that was in her hand. It had gotten some dust from Ganon dropping in. She wasn't going to eat that anymore. She set it aside. She said nothing else for a while. Roy had done enough to her already, saying something else might make it worse.

User ImageTibarn looked up thoughtfully at Annis as he sipped his coffee, then smiled. His eyes were still half-lidded, with little black bags underneath them. He definitely wasn't getting enough sleep lately... not for the past week, at least. "Very well," he said. "I'll see you at three, at the castle. Tell the guards you have an appointment and they'll let you up to my office." He sipped his coffee again and sat back a bit, closing his eyes to enjoy it. It hadn't been a request of her presence. It hadn't been an order. It had been a statement. It meant I'll see you at three whether you like it or not.

"I'd like some spice cake, please. And perhaps some hot chocolate? Do you offer hot chocolate?" He replied to the waitress attending their table.

Magvel... FD tried to recall what little he knew of the place. The only other person he knew personally to be from Magvel was Amelia, and all he knew of it from her was that she was from a country called Grado. Renais and Frelia were both foreign words to FD. And monsters! There seemed to be all sorts of monsters that had infested Learania at one point or another that he recalled Amelia recognizing from her own world. Mogalls and things. But, that was really all he knew of the place. Not that he could claim he knew all too much about where he was born these days himself, he mused. Elibe certainly must have become a drastically different place in the millenium that had passed by since the Scouring that had him leave it took place. And the single... visit he had made back to Elibe, courtesy of Nergal, had berserked him. Not that he was there long enough to learn anything about the place. There was also the land his people now inhabited... an entirely different matter.

"Magvel then... I'm afraid I don't know much about Magvel, much less Frelia or Renais. How are things there?" FD curiously asked the girl.

"..A mother..." somehow that simple comment. How many years has it been since she had a mother to call? Oh..Right, six years..those six years she lived with her brother, Elly never got out of the house all that much really.

She turned to the waitress with a shy tone "U-Um.." Ooh, what she did want, there was too many to choose and quite franky, Elly was just hungry and could eat about any cake there was here. "S-Strawberry..shortcake....i-if..you have..it" her voice slowly dropped with each word she spoke and her head sank once more.

Elhaym turned to FD when he asked how things were. She pondered the thought for a moment. "The last..I checked...Renais and Grado were..at war.." yes, that was what she remembered...that was when she ended up here "I..never really left the house much...my brother always told me to stay.." suddenly she remembered that she had disobeyed her brother and followed him anyways. "Hwaa~, I-I kinda disobeyed my brother and..and and...well...I tried to follow him b-but..for the most part all I remember was a war going on" yes, that's all she remembered. It wasn't in her nature to travel..yet how she got to sniper? Vigorous training by her teacher and that was not an easy training.

((Note: Elhaym came before the Sacred Stone Battle, Ephraim came after. Just so that's clear))

Lyre scribbled it all down on her cute little notepad that she kept in her pocket.

"I think we've got all that... I mean I swear we must have every type of cake imaginable, Kris must've been up all night baking or something! ...Or maybe Hatmon somehow magically procured all of them... eh, no matter." She shrugged, and dropped her notepad back into her apron pocket.

"I'll be back in a minute with your drinks." She gave a quick head nod, and was off to the back.

Annis the Raven

User ImageThe hands I'd kept clean
Now look dirty
Before I can doubt my memories
My memories are doubting me...

Annis paused next to Tibarn's chair once he had spoken. What time was it now? Nine o' clock, perhaps about fifteen minutes earlier or later. She closed her own eyes for a few moments, pursing her lips together as she tried to steady herself. She could feel her hands trembling a little; a small part of her wondered if anyone had overheard Tibarn speaking. Had the waitress heard? Annis glanced over at her for a split second; she recognized her from somewhere, perhaps just around town, but did she hear anything?

The raven let out a little breath. Tibarn was drinking his coffee in silence, apparently enjoying it. She stood there for another moment, then spoke in a low voice; humiliation ran deep through it, but there was a sharp knife of anger gouged in deep that not even the shame could hide.

"Fine. But I'll have you know that I don't tell people about my difficulties for a reason, Hawk King. I don't need you taking pity on me because of them or notifying me of things I've already known in public places."

She paused. "And I'd suggest you get some sleep. You look like death warmed over with that pallor and those bags under your eyes." With that, Annis strode to the front of the cafe, walking a little faster than necessary. She shouldered the door open, peeling her cake- and cream-covered gloves off of her arms as she emerged into the morning light. Out of Tibarn's range of sight, Annis let out a nervous little shudder and closed her eyes tightly, willing her panicked heartbeat to calm before hurrying down the street.

User ImageThe half snake waited patiently for a reply until... Crash! Her attention turned to the cause of the loud noise. “Ganon,” she yelled, surprised to see the large reptile fall through the ceiling. The drop didn’t phase him. Aruna sighed with relief to know he was okay. For a few moments, the female naga had forgotten just how ...endurable their race actually was. She didn’t concern herself with the poor fellow whom Ganon had landed on.

Hearing John begin to speak, the waitress spun back round to face him. Aruna nodded her head as she memorized the man’s order. “Coming right up, sir.” She slithered away, avoiding the area with broken floor/ceiling boards. Getting a splinter in her soft underbelly would hurt. A lot. And the nagini wasn’t a fan of pain. Suddenly, she was reminded of the glass that rained down at last night’s ball. Why didn’t she worry about the glass shards then but now she’s weary of wood chips?

Before she knew it, the woman had ventured into the kitchen and near the counter with all of the fresh pasties. Spotting the tea cakes, Aruna took a piece then placed it on a small plate. Now for the green tea. She traveled to the bar. “Vika, I need a cup of green tea,” declared the nagini. There was no answer. “Vika,” she questioned, thinking that the raven was below the bar rearranging bottles or something like that. Finally looking over the counter, Aruna noticed she wasn’t there. “The crow missed work? How odd. Looks like I’ll have to get the tea myself.” Some various teas had already been brewed probably by Hatmon or Kris. She found a tea cup and saucer among the other glasses kept near the bar. Then setting the cake down and taking a kettle with green tea in it, she poured the liquid delicately into the cup.

Order filled. The scaly hostess slithered her way, once again avoiding the debris, back to John’s table. “Here you are. Enjoy,” Aruna said sweetly as she placed the tea and cake in front of him. “If you need anything else, do not hesitate to ask.”

Blue eyes leered over the rooftops, a span of black wings clumsily batting the air. The avian form bore the image of a hawk but the feathers of a raven. Black hawks were probably not a common sight, but Ed didn't exactly know how to change the color of her feathers...

Ed was attempting to balance herself on a rooftop, beating the air in a somewhat novice-like manner. She'd practiced this routine many times already but still hadn't the strength nor technique to fly great distance. The best she could manage was hop from one roof to another, beating her wings enough not to crash into any walls. The hawk sighed as she plopped down on the rooftop and glanced down at the streets below. She was also smaller than the typical transformed laguz, owing to the fact that her transformation method was far different than theirs. There were times she wished it was better and then times when she wouldn't have traded it for anything else in the world.

The bird rolled over and splayed out on her back, gazing up at the skies, enraptured by the acute details of what clouds were available. What she'd discovered was that her eyes were useless in the dark, whereas as a wolf she would have had no trouble navigating, but she supposed that was okay. Their enemy was a bird too, right? Ed figured it was better fighting on the air than groundbound since their foe could take off as desired.

Still, some things didn't add up. Vanishing bottles and disappearing acts... Ed didn't question the fact that the bird had a sword, no. She wielded swords herself — she just wasn't able to in any animal form.

The sound of a door opening made the hawk tilt her head back, beak open in a clueless look. She flailed and flipped onto her talons, realizing that it probably was not a good idea for a bird to lay on her back, and then she stepped up to the edge of the roof and peered down. A raven laguz was exiting a building, from which wafted a serenade of aromas and scents. Ed found that she was hungry but figured she couldn't just swoop in and snatch something.

Naww.

So she sat there and watched the raven laguz dart down the street, halfly wondering who it was who'd just ran off and halfly wondering why she looked familiar.

Moving in, clutching his shoulder, since it was still stinging from that slash, Ziaram looked over and noticed some cakes and grabbed one, slinking off for a table away from some people. "That darn raven...going for me, then slashing my shoulder after...yet taking a small girl? How much lower can some go in this kind of area?" Yet after taking a bite out of the cake, he then just chose to immerse himself in the cake and worry later. Though his shoulder would be a reminder to him about it for sometime.

Looking up, Bartre realized more people had come to join them...yet one of them seemed a bit familiar, yet he could not put his finger on it, so he moved up to FD, then asked, "I have a feeling I have seen you somewhere before...yet no name is coming to mind."

"Uhh...where is Fa?" she thought as she pushed herself up and looked at her surroundings guessing it was a room somewhere neat FEF Castle. She swung her feet around the side and stood up to see her leather boots and velvet cloak. She put her left foot in the left boot first then vice versa with her other boot. She wrapped her cloak around her neck and then felt the sides for her dragonstone that Ashera had gave her. She felt it. Radiating with energy, Fa took her hand off of it and opened the door and skipped out of the room slamming the door behind her. Fa looked outside and saw it wasn't too far from FEF castle. Fa decided that she wanted a bite to eat.

So,Fa skipped happily through the field all the way over to the hostess cafe. By the time she got there it was after noon. She saw the door opened and happily skipped in and tripped over something hard and fell face first onto the floor onto some weird man thing. Fa sat up and sniffled and let out a loud wail that would shatter eardrums as Fa held her knee and rocked back and forth.

Lance didn't quite get this place.

A little kid just got kidnapped.

By a flying Laguz.

In a mask.

That escaped by crashing a window.

And now people were acting as if nothing happened. Having cake. Partying.
There was writing on the wall there, but no one seemed to be reading it. As far as Lance knew, people tended to go nutters if a child got abducted, wanting everyone to go looking for it. But these didn't.

Maybe the higher ups were working on something. Lance didn't know. What he did know was that it rubbed him the wrong way. Lance came to this party nevertheless, because almost everyone else did, but he didn't bother dressing up. He didn't feel like it. He wore a mask across is eyes with his goggles up, but that was it. He was dressed as if he was going on an adventure. Cake, hmph. If Lance was in a lousy mood before, it just got worse.

Now, however, he was just moving flowingly around the room, not really stopping to chat with everyone. He would probably snap back if anyone spoke to him, anyway.
