why compare the books? your bringing down books about magic. Harry Potter made sense. Twilight? not so much
Stephanie Meyer who "never read a vampire book" before made vampires who are super strong and brave but too whimpy to go out in the sun because they sparkle. Girl vampires can just put on a lot of make up!

Harry Potter. Most definitely. It got character development, a really good story and strong characters.
Twilight is just another stupid love story by some 12 year old girl that pretends to be older or got some older relative to publish it!

Harry Potter has everything Twilight doesn't. Character Development, and a Plot. and the characters are EXACTLY what they are. Wizards. Vampires that sparkle in the sun? that's a freakin PIXIE!!!!!

They are both good writers. WAY better than I could ever do. And I have read both series, so that means I like tham both. =]

Lets just say I die a little inside whenever I hear someone fawning over twilight.
I mean, have any of you ever read Evermore? It's not nearly as bad, nor the best book I've read, but it came out a year or two before, the monstrosity, was published, and it is VERY similar. It even has the meadow scene that supposidly came to meyer in a dream. rolleyes
I've also noticed themes from books like the very excelent 'Interview With A Vampire' series, etc.
So, to go with the giraff crap theme, is it real giraff crap, or is it a basterdised version of the nutrtious leaves it started out as?

In my opinion of wizards vs. vampires.
Twilight has a unique writing style which makes people want to read it..though it lacks in characters story and all around sense..
Though Rowling wrote a book that made sense, mixed romance a bit but it wasn't the theme and that people of all ages could like without being picked on.(besides at first by ecstatic church people..which made me go atheist for a while)
I personally have a strong hatred towards twilight,though i have to give the writer some credit for her style..but the story itself stinks..in other words if you watched the movies your just watching junk..
Not to mention the writer of twilight has had 2 people who have sued her.
One which was a college room mate to her said she stole it from a paper she wrote and expanded it into a book..i mean she said she never read a book ..then why did she write about them? and the second said one of her books followed a eerily similiar storyline as theirs..(both sued for recognition of the fact ,not money)
in other words...Rowling wins!!!!

Both the movies suck.
Though Harry Potter was a really good book and a little part of me died when it ended. But Twilight (as I have said before) was such a bad book when I fished Breaking Dawn I threw It across my room and Yelled "I WANT MY WEEK BACK YOU b***h!" The part that really bugs me is that the author needs to learn how to write. And I find it sad that so many girls are sucked in to this crap storyline and some of the worst characters and plot though of by a human being.

HARRY POTTERRRRRR!
The books were bad written at some points, but TWILIGHT was...crap. Really, trust me. It was really bad written carbage about emotionally unstable people. =____=
ALSO: Twilight stole ideas from various vampire books..I have collected a huuuge list of similarities already..
