I'm not a dim light reader, both lights in my room are fairly bright. I just buy more books than i can read at any one time. (Or not, am reading four right now.) So my room is filled with books, they cover my shelves, fill my one tiny cubord (sp?) and cover the floor.

At least I don't fold pages. It realy annoys me when people do that "Get a book mark! Or remember where you were!"

1)Never marking where I am. I don't like to dog-ear the pages, but I never use book marks for some reasond. I always have to try and remember where I am in books, which can be really fun if I haven't picked up the book in a month.
2)Being klumsy, as I always am. I try to be careful with books but my complete lack of grace will forever be the bane of my existence. I'll try to read everywhere; usually I'll do fine, I've had plenty of practice over the years, but if I'm in klumsy mode then nothing can stop me from destroying the thing I love most. In middle school when I read Le Mis I ended up dropping it in the toilet because I had one of those moments. redface I'll never live that down.
3)I have to join the group whoreads in poor light. One of my favorite places to read is in bed and on some nights when my mom tells me to go to bed I'll be at a really good part of a book or close to the end of a chapter. At times like that I'll turn off my main light but leave a smaller one on, all with the meritable aim of reading a few more pages. However, it never turns out to be just "a few more pages", it's usually more like 30 or 100. I have no clue how my mom can tell when I do stay up late reading. I've done the same thing with the lamp myself and gone outside my room to check & I can't tell a difference. Maybe she just figures I'll be reading late almost every night and goes to yell at me according to that logic.
4)Trying to read 6 books at one time. I'll get into different kind of book moods so sometimes I may feel like a classic while other times I'll want to read fantasy. I"ll then want to finish each book and end up with 6 books on my plate when I'm really busy.
5)Buying too many books at a time. If I go into a book store I'll see all these books I want and know I won't find again for ages so I'll buy 6 at a time. Usually I'll be in the middle of one or more book(s) and have to put the recently purchased books on hold; or a new book I've been waiting for will come out & I'll re-read a series; or I'll have bought other books I'll have to read; etc etc. Usually the previoius reason can weigh heavily in not finding time to read all the books I buy.

I do all except number 4! I also despise dog-earing pages. So, to this list I also want to add...

6) Reading in the car. Really I don't see what the big deal is though, I do it so much I don't get sick.. Not now anyway. sweatdrop

7) Returning library books late. ^^' I can't help it I'm so forgetfull! That's why I leave my books open on the table, I can never remember page numbers.

I'm not sure whether I'd call mine bad or just annoying towards others.

-I tend to read in dim or no light because I can be too lazy to get up and turn the lights on. I have glasses now because I've read so much that I had problems seeing anything that isn't close to me.
-I sometimes read in class when I should be: taking notes, doing work, listening to the teacher, doing projects, ect.
-I slap my neck over and over with my book mark sometimes without knowing it.
-If I am in school and someone bugs me when I am reading I snap at them quite a bit. (Happened to a teacher once.)
-I always want a new book everytime I set foot into any type of store that has books.

I am ashamed to say that I tend to be the type that dog-ears the page. But only if I own the book. I would never do it if it belonged to someone else.

I leave books everywhere in my room so they lend to get squished and bent. I also read in the dark so I have bad vison. I dog-ear pages too. I read in the car too even though I get motion sick. I also read when I'm sleepy so I end up reading the same line over and over again.

I can't read one book at a time, no matter how good it is, because my attention span is...well....short sweatdrop

Reading by candle-light, stopping at random times to read, reading just after I got out of the shower, or late at night, reading when I am hurrying to go somewhere... sweatdrop

I never want to get rid of books, no matter how old...I'm obsessed with them. Half the time when I want a new book, my parents say to throw out or sell some others first...and I give them a look like they're crazy...then I go buy more anyway. So they're just all over my room. The shelf is packed...my nightstand drawers, some boxes, the closet...

Ha, ha. Me too! I have so many books, that I have my shelves lined double-deep with even more books on top of those! That still doesn't stop me though, I always go to every booksale I can find.

My bad book habit:
(y'all will flay me alive)
I read books in the shower. I've been blessed that I'm tall enough to be able to avoid most of the spary . I started about 10 years ago, when I was in jr/sr high school and my mother would tell me that I wasted my time reading. Needless to say, I've mastered the one handed shower and have built up a resistance to soap in my eyes.

Oh, I know what you mean by leaving books everywhere. It's such a bad habit! redface I really mean to take care of my books, but the reason my room is always such a mess is that I have books all over the floor (and chairs, and dresser, and nightstand, and desk, etc).

I find myself reading when I'm in a rush to get out the door. I've been late to work a few times for that. I'd probably have been late for school too, but I was home schooled. wink

Mine aren't too bad....

~I write the number of the page I'm on on my hand.. Dog-earing is annoying, and I end up chewing up my bookmarks.
~I can read in the lowest light-I've been able to make out words using an EXIT sign, a flashing ring, and an LED pen... (glasses)
~I paint and read at the same time...Very colorful, in the least..
~Never can read a book twice. Never. Ever. I end up donating almost every book I own to my school library.

~Myeh~

I dog-ear pages all the time sweatdrop Its not that I wanna ruin the book, its just bookmarks always fall out and I have ADD so I always forget the page(that and reading 4 books at once...)I wills ay most of my books are library books though...

Another bad habit is I tend to stack them Everywhere, and I hate throwing them away/giving them away. I still have little kids books with crayon on them sweatdrop

hmm I tend to read too much, like forget homework, not pay attention to my teachers.

I glimpse up at the page number constantly like I'm impatient.
