Taking a risk, Tarma nocked an arrow and let it fly, thudding as it struck the wall opposite of the door with a thud. It was then she bolted for the door, hoping they'd be distracted by the arrow.

((If anybody minds me cutting in, I'll delete this.))

The arrow dissolved into ash as someone followed the line the projectile had made, following the assassin out the door.

What is it?
Not sure.

((Nah, it's fine. ))

Tarma managed to slip out, not caring about letting the door slam behind her. Thinking she had left unnoticed, she sighed with relief before tightening her cloak and walking casually away. She'd find somewhere else to wait for the baroness.

Jericho watched as Tarma ran by, letting her pass freely as he had no idea who she was. Figuring it to be a relative or something Jericho merely opened his novel, the glimpse he had caught of half her face transferring onto a blank page in his book.

A firm hand found its way to Tarma's shoulder, stopping her in her tracks. The spell raced down his arm into her, paralyzing everything from the neck down.

"Leaving so soon?"

Tarma's eyes widened in shock and for several moments, she was speechless. "Who are you?!" She demanded after she regained her composure, though she was terrified. She couldn't run or fight back, but entirely helpless.

"No one of consequence. Now, what has the baroness done to deserve such a fate?"

There was a harsh edge to his tone, a slipping of the usual calm demeanor.

"She doesn't deserve to be a baroness. This is Argalt's castle, HIS land. Scum like her needs to be crushed beneath the heel and scraped off. He treated the people right." Tarma found herself wishing Argalt was there at the time, he could have helped her out of the tight situation.

"Well, then." It was half a snarl as silver-blue light flashed around the both of them, fading to reveal the library Tarma had just fled.

"My gift to you, Baroness." The paralysis faded but the assassin's strength was almost fully drained. "Do with her what you will."

Glancing over in shock, Izual asked "What was that?" A frown tugged at his mouth, as he took into his view Hrothbert and some strange woman he'd never before seen. He'd heard what the stranger had said about his big sister, and he was less than pleased. However, he didn't make any sign of it other than a glare, Hrothbert seemed to have it under control as was. He glanced toward Alnette, a look of slight curiosity betrayed by his eyes.

Alnette smiled maliciously when she saw Tarma. "Thank you, Hrothbert, we shall." This would be fun.

Discord was silent. His imposing figure cast a shadow over the would-be assassin. His mind was already devising several methods of torture, but that recreation would have to come later. All knew full well that she was sent by Argalt, but to think he would send someone this easily dealt with. The man had to be losing his touch, Discord thought.

Tarma did her best to show no fear, though she was terrified. She had thought this would be an easy job, but now, she probably wouldn't even see Argalt again. She took a deep breath and stared at Discord and Alnette. "It's only a matter of time... He'll crush you, you know."

Jericho entered the library, book tucked under one arm."He will, if he ever learns that he needs a direct confrontation. The Baroness has lost the Necropolis only through full scale war, as far as records show. Oh, and I apologize for the intrusion, it seemed like everyone was to occupied for the normal courtesies to have an effect." He bowed deeply to the Baron and Baroness, taking his hat off to place it over his heart as he did so.

"If all he has are people like you under his employ, Argalt couldn't even crush an insect." Alnette smirked. "She's all yours, Charles. You could probably find an appropriate punishment for her actions."

Alnette growled when she noticed the newcomer. "And you are?"
