Joel sounds much more like Joe then Josef in Swedish though.

It's pronounced "Sense-dog". Two syllables, very simple to remember.

Probably because Gaia is, overall, an anime-based forum. Anime is then, in turn, japanese animation, and if one were pronouncing "Kaiami" in japanese, it would be a fairly long thing, not to mention different sounding.
