OK so since I only just jumped in here I think I'll start with answering the actual topic of the thread ^_~:

Basic Opinion/What You Answered in the Poll: heart heart heart

Rating of Favoriteness: Numero Uno, no contest. Places 2 - last are all contested and change from time to time, but Seto is always my number one.

Why You Hold That Opinion: As pretty much stated, he's a jerk. He's a cold, semi-manipulative a*****e. He's self-obsessed and obsessive, and almost determined to be miserable. Yes these are things that completely managed to endear me to his character. That aside, he's smart and ambitious - I mean how many high schoolers even want to run companies, much less do? Family is everything to him - maybe a bit to an extreme, but you have to admire the dedication and protection. He may keep everyone at a distance, but he's paranoid and insecure - and probably for good reason considering his history/childhood and what not - so how could I blame him? He seems unwilling to admit his faults, admit when he's wrong - but I think it's because throughout most of the series they aren't proved to satisfaction - to him I mean. He doesn't respond well to criticism, and I think part of why he fights Yuugi and his friends so hard is because it's him versus a mob. I'd be self-defensive too if everything I consider an essential part of my core was scrutinized and challenged by several personalities en masse. Umm...think I'll stop with that for now, and of course I'm not trying to "convince" anybody of anything. It's just how I interpret, think and feel. Of course I'm not defending the assholeness either, I wouldn't even want to. He's a jerk, and I like that.

Favorite Characters to Pair With: Well if I like a character I'll probably pair him with Seto, I'm awful like that, I always make whores of my most favorite characters (and Kaiba is my most favorite character in this series). In no specific order: Otogi, Pegasus, Yami no Bakura, Yami no Yuugi, Ryou, and Gozaburo (noncon only with that one). I'd probably also like him with Malik, maybe Yami no Malik, Mai, and even Anzu and Honda despite my not liking those characters much. Isis is an ok selection but she doesn't interest me much as a character. And while I don't pair him with Jou, I don't despise the pairing as much as my best friend would like to think I do (tee hee hee <<--supporting weird type laughs rofl ). I don't indulge in the fiction really, but sorry bff, my favorite character + pretty character (whom I like), I just CAN'T hate it.

Pretty much the only people I wouldn't pair him with is Mokuba (I've got A LOT of incest pairings in my repertoire I have to admit - and not just twincest, which is wonderful btw lol - but no, this one creeps me out, sorry to all it's fans), Noa (doesn't creep me out, just no), Kisara (aside from the whole altered time periods, I just do not like her) or Grandpa (I pair nobody with him, old people *shudders* ^_^).

Mkay that's it for now...as to everything that was rambled on about since before I entered this thread: generic yay! Haha, to lazy to reply - except, I LOVE ODD!! Ok that's it. Just wanted to say that because I've been dying to watch Code Lyoko again lately, randomly, not sure why because it's been awhile and I've had nothing recent to trigger such a desire. Oh well, I want what I want.

Yea, I randomly watched an episode or two of Code Lyoko on Cartoon Network and ended up really liking it. I never got hooked to the point where if I missed episodes I'd try to find them later, but if I was home I would aim to watch it. Now I want to go back and fill in all those holes - and then rewatch a lot of what I've seen. If you ask my friend she'll probably say the show sucks (dunno how much if any she's seen of it though, that's just what she said - although I think a lot of her opinion was based on the art style, which I happen to really like). I however liked it...^_^.

And I think the group thing was just something I could personally relate to at some level. I mean my situations have always been me (being stubborn and always thinking I'm right - becaues I am! Haha, j/k!!!) versus friends, so I think it would be even harder to be in that situation with rivals. I mean even if Kaiba ever felt he was wrong, how the heck would he ever admit it? And would Jou ever let him live it down? Hahaha, I think not. Seto can't just laugh and brush things off, so each time anyone teased him he'd get personally offended and upset. It's a pretty strong incentive to never put yourself in a position to be teased.

And yea, some of my favorite characters I'm uber possessive of to one or two pairings (Such as with Randy - whom I only pair canon - in Fake, Chrono and Rosette in Chrono, Ritsuka and Soubi in Loveless and Kyouya and Karou in OHC - whom I'll only pair with each other, or Kyouya with Tamaki, Kaoru with his twin) , while others I whore out like crazy (such as Kyo in Fruba, Draco in HP, Ed in FMA - although alternatively my other favorite, Roy, I refuse to let anybody but Ed touch, haha - and obviously Seto in YGO). So I definitely can relate to the feeling as I get it half the time.

For years I think I hated puppyshipping just because I was indifferent to it, and my best friend HATES it so much - so I agreed because it made her happy and I had no reason not to. However with liking both characters, boredom led me to entertain it from time to time and I just can't hate it. It amuses me, at times entices me, and it's a fun pairing to bash too, so I figure why not just entertain both the good and the bad. Hating it on principle earns me no merit.

I think what I liked about the art style was that it was different, it seemed an odd mix of styles, and it flounced suggestively on the edge of unattractive, which made it completely fascinating to me. It made me want to look at it, it made me think about it, made me wonder why. As I'm busy getting drawn in by "what exactly am I looking at" I quickly got drawn into plot and characters. For a long time a lot of the episodes end the same pretty much, which is maybe a turn off, but again it's characters that I'm mostly attracted to - so between that and baffling yet alluring art I found it very enjoyable.

It's true, but the longer he keeps the walls up the tighter he becomes and the more walls he consequently must erect to hold up the former pillars. Kind of a never ending cycle type of deal. Maybe if he was less proud he could break out, but he isn't, so he can't.

I read volume 1 of Fake at Yaoi-Con 2007 in the manga room and was like wtf, and kind of said it was ridiculous. But for weeks after I just could not stop talking about it, I slowly realized that I was obsessed - that while I might be saying the words "stupid and ridiculous" I was utterly fascinated and drawn in. I wanted to forget it, I was obviously in love. So I got pretty much the whole thing for Christmas (save for volumes 6 and 7 - the sixth of which apparently took me an extra half year to find, I bought 7 and then sat around sadly staring at it because I couldn't read it until I got 6). But yes I totally agree, Fake is absolutely fantastic, I don't know. It attacked me like a hammer but I guess I'm glad I did because I love it so. And I love Bikky too, that kid is absolutely adorable).

I like how we'll whore out one character in a series yet reserve another exclusively for them. The way you only give Hakura to Makota but Makota is free for all. Just like I only let Roy be with Ed but who don't I whore Ed out to? Hehe.

Haha, uh-oh...*enticed by dark side*...ok I won't get to it tonight but I'll bookmark it, it'll be my treat to myself as soon as I get my letter of rec forms mailed off to my professors (which will hopefully be in the next couple of days, just waiting for them to get back to me with addresses). I must reward each step to convince myself to carry on with this nightmarish process. And yes, thank you, I appreciate you keeping that incomplete best one to yourself. I mean I've got tons of stories I've loved and I don't want to say I want to unread them, but sometimes it's so frustrating - especially initially when the story is still fresh in my mind and I WANT MORE!!!

Of course I've already crackified your fic (I am the anti-deep!!) - haha, Pegasus someho manages to also wake up in Kaiba's mental fortress, yet he is like, OMG I AM IN THE LABYRINTH, GOBLIN KING!! Prattles on about how amazingly fashionable he is. Later he's all pouty that this isn't THAT Labyrinth, he won't get to meet his tightly clad idol, and it's just some emotional blah blah blah for Kaiba-boy. He inevitably decides to "help" though. Antics ensue, hilarity all around (except for a frustrated Kaiba). Eventually though all will still be solved, Kaiba will still get some of that deep goodness, and at the very least toonshipping shall end up heavily implied. Aww s**t, I destroyed your story, haha...or, in the ever so famous words of Invader Zim "worse, or better?"

Yea, I watched the OVA online and then I bought it, I don't remember where but it was only $5 or something. And yea I love it, I wish there was more. I guess I can't like J because Fake is one of those series where I'm possessive and not whorish with my pairing. I'm always like HANDS OFF! Haha, although I do rather like Berkeley.

If the plot is good I'm totally fine with pairings being forgotten.

Yea I have a few stories that went YEARS between updates and then randomly udpated again. So I can't give up hope even with stories from 2006 - though honestly I know there is almost no chance of any much less all of my incomplete stories ever reaching even a hasty, illogical conclusion (much less the epic awesomeness I crave).

Haha, glad you side with Zim - you know in this case, because in other cases Dib is totally better to side with. *Huggles Dib*...hehehe.

Yea Ryou is definitely my favorite, I think that's why J bothers me and Berkeley doesn't. I tend to be more annoyed by my character's "pair" being taken away than by my character being taken away. I could handle Dee jealous and alone and heartbroken, but not my Ryou. So yes even though he's not a threat I think it's just a principle issue for me.

Yea, I think most of my favorite stories are pre-pairing. Especially when it comes to couples that shouldn't for some reason like each other. So stories that don't officially ship until the end (or only ship through mild suggestions and thoughts and the like) are more often than not what I prefer.

I'm making me miss them too!! I save a lot of my favorite stories (completed or otherwise) but when my desktop crashed I did lose a few. Most I found again, but there was a FMAxHP crossover I was in the middle of that I couldn't find again (I think it links up with OotP...though maybe it was HBP, ugh I'm pretty sure it was the first - anyhow it was pretty awesome and fairly relevant to the plots of both of these seemingly very different stories). FMA and HP are slashed a bit more often than an easy search enables - especially as BOTH of these series have a high amount of fanfiction attached. And then I could never again find this completed Supernatural fanfiction that I loved, I want to reread it (even though I still have it fairly well memorized) and I can't. I am so sad.

Haven't lost any of the YGO stories I like though...^_^...does help that most of my pairings aren't extremely highly patronized (at least not fictionalized at any rate), so if I do ever lose a bookmark I usually only have a few pages of stories to leaf through anyhow.

Yea he is, hence the being him for Halloween. My friend wanted to be Zim at some point (her favorite character), but I doubt she'll ever get all that together. It is a bit more work - especially being green, haha. But yes I LOVE Dib sooooooooo much *huggles more*.

Yea, Ryo is mine so while J is not a threat he's a bit of annoyance because he's touching my character's property, hahaha. After Ryou it's probably Bikky than Berkeley. Dee is 4th followed by Carol.

And yea, I KNOW that's why...still, makes it annoying in trying to find the ONE story I want. I mostly gave up by now though. Maybe I'll stumble across it some day but I've stopped actively searching.

I hate when I don't save stories, because they aren't that good and I don't think I'll want to read them again. Then find I REALLY wish I had.
