Mikoto ate about half of his sandwich before putting it down to speak for a moment. "Uh, well, about that. In the notebook, Liam refers to Laeglas with such deep emotion. It confused me slightly. I get they were master and servant but...the way he speaks makes me think that something was a bit off about the two. I can't wuite figure it out though..." Mikoto paused to let his mind wander about the details.

"Oh, is that all?" Liam asked, and took a sip of his coffee. That was quite an easy question to answer. After all, Laeglas' whole purpose for living had revolved around the prince. "They were lovers," he answered simply as he set his coffee cup back down. "For four years, before Aiden was crowned king." Should he tell him about Laeglas' death? No, now was not the right time. He should wait until Mikoto asked, or found out for himself.

"L-lovers!?" Mikoto exclaimed, surprised. "W-well...that definitely explains a few things..." That was a response he hadn't expected. All the same though, he had wanted to know, and now he does. And yet, further knowledge he still wanted. "So, they were separated by his rise to Konghood? That's...depressing..."

Liam was surprised by how surprised Mikoto was. Was it that unusual to think they had been that close? Or maybe... Maybe Mikoto was not gay? Liam felt a spear of worry, and a little heartbreak, go through him. But there was no proof of that yet, the bartender told himself, no need to worry yet.
"Well... You could put it that way," he murmured, suddenly feeling nervous. How did he break it to Mikoto? He did not want to break it to Mikoto.

Mikoto noticed Laim's nervousness. "Um, Liam... Is this troubling you?" He tilted his head to the side with a raised eyebrow.

"No," Liam said quickly because he did not want to worry Mikoto. But it was obviously a lie. "Yes," he muttered, but then shook his head. "I'm sorry, it's just... If you haven't remembered about how they parted... I don't think I should tell you." It was strange, talking to this man about who they had been in their past lives, when Mikoto did not remember everything. Of course, the prince had more memories than Laeglas. Perhaps that was why he was missing pieces still.

"Hmm..." Mikoto fell silent as he listened to Liam speak. When the other was done talking, he took a bite of his sandwich and chewed as he thought. "Alright. If you think there are certain details I shouldn't know about at this point, I understand. After all, this...seems like a delicate subject. So, for the rest of our time together, lets just hang out like buds and get to know our current selves!" He smiled as he presented to idea. He really didn't like causing discomfort for others. He hoped that this would allow Liam to relax a bit.

Like buds. Liam had been in love with Aiden, his prince, for his entire life. He finally found him again in this life, and the other man did not even remember him. He was disappointed, but what had he expected, really? There had never been any guarantee that the prince in this life would remember his past life, or want anything to do with Liam.
"Yeah," Liam replied with a faint smile. It was a nice dream to think they could have fallen into each others arms at first sight, like long lost lovers. But they had only just met in this life, they would have to go about this like normal people. "That sounds good."

"Ah, okay." Mikoto spoke evenly, but he still sensed to other was still upset over somethign. I must be doing something wrong. I- He blinked. His surroundings seemed different somehow. From what was a small diner, transformed into a small room with a simple table. Liam, or rather, Laeglas was sitting across from him. Laeglas, well, his eyes, held a great weight of depression. Then the image quickly disappeared. "W-what? Huh? That was..."

Though he had looked down for a moment to take a bite of his sandwich, Liam saw how Mikoto's eyes seemed to unfocus for a moment and the other man stared blankly ahead. "Mikoto?" he asked when the man came back to himself, "Are you alright?"

"I don't know. I just...saw something. I think." He furrowed his brows. "I just saw you...not you but...Laeglas. There was no sound, just sight." Mikoto fell silent and looked at Liam. The prince...for me to constantly see his view like this, he must have really lvoed Laeglas. They were star-crossed lovers indeed. It's kinda... His eyes widened slightly as a thought came to him, but he quickly masked it. Could it possibly be that? "Um, Liam. I wish to ask you another question. But, I'm afraid it might be a bit too personal..." He looked to the side.

"Oh, I used to have flashes like that all the time. It was really confusing as a child. They thought I was schizophrenic for a while," Liam said to assure Mikoto that it was nothing to worry about. But perhaps he said a little too much. "You can go ahead and ask me," he replied, "I can't say if it's too personal until I hear it."

After listening to what Liam had to say, he nodded. "Ok. I'm just going to ask right out... Are you in love with Aiden just as Laeglas was?" Mikoto put on a calm face, fhe was just confirmation his observation of since he met Liam. If he could gain some understanding from it, he'd know how to deal with the younger man better.

Liam did not answer right away. He looked away, embarrassed and unable to meet Mikoto's eyes. It was sad, wasn't it? He was in love with a memory, a person who had died centuries before he had even been born. "Yes," he replied meekly. "Maybe not as much as Laeglas did, but I do love him." Was that so wrong? Liam had all of the servants memories as though he had lived that life himself, knew all of his thoughts and feelings.

"Oh...I see." For a while, Mikoto said nothing as he finished his snadwich. ONce done, he took a sip of his drink before looking up at Liam again. "I've thought on it, I will neither laugh nor scorn you. I believe you can fall for whom you love no matter who and when they are. Also, I'm assuming you have ALL of your memories, so that makes it even more understanding." A pause. "It makes me...kinda jealous."
