Ellandra sighed again, taking Faolan's hand and squeezing it. "I'm so sorry for hurting you, Faolan, I truly am. . ." She wrinkled her nose a bit, though, on his comment about Keagan. "I don't believe he was thinking of that at all . . . I think he's been very, very worried about you. . . and with good reason."

"Eh, occasionally th' ol' man does care," Faolan chuckled, shrugging it off. He looked down at Ellandra again. "Think we're gonna be alreet now? I mean, we can see about counselin' or what hae you if'n you think we need tha'."

Ellandra squeezed his hand a little tighter. "I don't know, Faolan. . . there's so much about this we really did rush into. . . . we've both done rather foolish things. . . what's the best way to prevent them from happening again?"

"Well, I could not get married t' any other women fae a start," Faolan said, grinning. He sobered a bit and sighed. "I really donnae hae an answer, love. I knows I donnae wanna be apart from you, but I ain't e'er been in a relationship this long or serious afore. Seems I'm as lost as you are."

Ellandra bit her lip thoughtfully. "We could. . . . always talk with Aoi and Ziazan and Rhian all at once. Between the three of them, they might be able to help us unmuddle ourselves without going to see an actual counselor. Rhian's been growing up a bit lately, I think she might be able to help with that sort of thing, given a bit more time. . ." It was just a thought, a minor idea, but. . . anything to prevent this from happening again.

"Might not be a bad idea t' talk wi' Lauss, too. He's got a lot of booksmarts an' his lack o' common sense sometimes gives a fresh perspective," Faolan suggested. "Tha' an' your wean here would prolly like t' see him again soon."

Ellandra nodded and stroked Rhian's wing some more. "She most definitely would. . . these little ones. . . .. they offer so much to the world and everyone in it. . . how could anyone do such a horrible thing as what happened?"

"People can be ignorant o' what they donnae understand, lass," Faolan sighed, shrugging. "Th' persecution o' me peoples should be plenty proof o' tha', yeah?" He turned his attention to Ziazan a moment. "How much longer, lad? Starvin' some o'er here."
"Not much longer. Need to cook bacon and breakfast will be served," the Essentic said, keeping its focus on the food it was cooking.

Ellandra smiled. "It's good to hear you say that, Faolan. . . when I came home, I walked in on Keagan spoonfeeding you. . ." Her gaze grew slightly teasing then. "Oh, maybe you still need that - you must be terribly weak still."

"I'll admit, I let meself get in a bad way, sure," Faolan said, looking at Ellandra. He grinned after a moment. "You know, I ain't rightly sure I got tha' much strength back up yet, t'be honest."

Ellandra actually giggled at that. "Why, I do believe you're right, Faolan. You probably shouldn't even be using your arms very much. Why don't I help you with breakfast?"

"Of course not - you shouldn't even be up yet. In fact, after breakfast I think you'll need to rest for another few hours." This time, Ellandra was half-serious. She could see how tired Faolan still was, and wanted him to recover as quickly as he could.

"La, wife, I'll rest, but only if'n you be layin' by me side," Faolan said, gently moving Rhian from his lap to the couch cushions and standing up. He certainly wasn't going to make his very pregnant wife wait on him hand and foot.
