Paestri's attention was drawn away from the fire as Levi waved his hands. She tilted her head to the side, wondering what he was doing.
Huni, on the other hand was getting a little worried about everything. Perhaps they shouldn't have gone to the HQ after all...
The infant Legend's eyes went saucer wide at what Wren had done. She wondered if that symbol had anything to do with the ones carved on her locket, but that thought didn't last long as the fire was extinguished by the sudden appearance of water.
She clapped her delight and astonishment. Her mama couldn't do anything like that!
Huni, too, was amazed by the magic, she knew there were Gaians who could do amazing things, but she never thought she'd encounter one.

The air in the pathway was stale and old, and darkness enveloped the path. Only a tiny light could be seen down in the darkness

Nodding, obviously impressed, Levi nudged Wren once again. "Nah bad! Ahnna learn tha' trick, hoo." Shaking his head a bit, Levi delved deeper into the pouch at his hip...withdrawing a few more pennies. He'd recently learned that despite their lovely coin shapes, they were worth next to nothing.
Stepping closer, feeling eyes upon his back, Levi squared his shoulders and strolled towards the steaming frame. Absently reaching back behind his head, the young pirate grabbed one of the tails of his tattered head scarf...wrapping it around his face with one smooth motion. Only his eyes glittered above the cloth wrap, nose and mouth protected from the smoke and steam.
"Carefu', keetens and bebehs!" His voice was a bit muffled, behind the dun fabric.

Ink flails his short arms, completely frustrated with the situation. No one is there to hold him up high so he can see what's happening, not that he wanted to be held. Crossing his arms across his chest, Ink sinks into an angry pout.
Beside him, and forgotten by the short tempered baby Legend, his companion weeps softly, her fingerless paws rubbing at her large, watery yellowed eyes. Unlike her companion, her senses are much more acute and dulled, so she doesn't notice anything about her surroundings when her heart is poured into fearing the unknown.
"Mhaaareee hee-hee-heeeee.." she sniffles, antenna coiling up atop her head. Her short tail flickers back and forth with discontent.

Clare purred at the brush of the tail, and the kitten playfulness came out again as he batted at the bushy fur lightly. He got up as Lafe pushed him forward, padding toward Levi for a moment before his eyes caught a glimpse of something bright. Hmmm... What was that?
Demian seemed to be ignoring them, on the other hand. Standing up, he quickly padded over to the fireplace, sniffing the air and surroundings a little bit. Something was very different... It wasn't like the headquarters at all. The air was musty, as if he'd just entered a room that hadn't been opened in years. What was that dim light inside...?

Attention too focused on the fireplace and the pathway that it lead to, Huni failed to notice or hear Suds' sniffles.
Paestri, however, had thought she heard something and began to scan the rest of the darkened HQ for some sign.
"Is it safe in there?" Huni asked, hesitant on entering the fireplace.

"... well, you've got to have a knack for it," Wren chuckled at the nudge, pulling a handkerchief from his pocket and pressing it to his face as he stood in the passage way behind the fireplace. He was waiting to see if anyone else was coming along, in case they needed assistance. "Might try and teach you sometime, if I can," he added after a moment, his voice slightly muffled behind the handkerchief.
His eyes, however, were on the light at the end of the tunnel and the fact that he wanted to go investigate. "It looks safe, albeit a bit ... dusty and stale?" he responded to the question he heard, turning towards the voice. "Levi and me, we'll head on ahead and you can follow -- we'll make sure it's safe." And with that, of course, Wren moved to catch up with the young Legend.
"Don't get to far ahead of me," he said with a chuckle.
Lafe mock growled at the swat at his tail and jumped out of the way. He had, of course, meant to follow the others down towards the darkness -- but the bright. 'Have a look?' he whispered in a conspiring tone towards Clare. Obviously he was up to no good and he crouched low to the ground, dragging himself forward very slowly.
There is another baby near the creature, but ... he pays it no mind for the moment.

Levi ducked into the passage...staring in for a long moment before sighing. Lights? That took away half the fun!
Twisting to look back at the sad little sniffles, Levi squinted at an odd creature belly down on the floor. Glancing back at Wren, Levi shrugged, and edged back toward the light haired boy child and his tiny pet.
"Wan' hup? 'Mere!" Opening his arms, Levi waited to see if the babe cringed or shifted. He knew from Nisha if a baby wanted picked up or left alone...it wouldn't take much time out of his adventure to see!

Ink scrunches up his face, but complies without a second thought, opening his arms to be lifted. It would be his only chance to see .. whatever it is that has made such a fuss in his new home. He mumbles a string of gibberish, something that could be misinterpreted easily as a thank you.
His companion, on the other hand, doesn't notice the offer, too busy drying her eyes. The two are no doubt connected, though they don't seem to be in the way that they are aware of the other consciously. [Nevermind the fact that Suds, though adorable as she is, is tremendously slow.]

Clare followed Lafe's lead and crouched down low to the ground, prowling for a moment before crawling a little bit on the floor. Whatever the bright thing was, it was small... and it moved. It even sounded like it squeaked. Was it a mouse? Or maybe it was a toy...
Demian slowly began to move forward into the darkness, looking over his shoulder every few moments to see if Levi or Wren were following. When he noticed they weren't yet, he decided to stop and wait. As much as he hated to admit, he needed their help while in this form... If there was anything dangerous down here, he'd need someone much bigger to hide behind.

Huni set Paestri down for a moment, trying to find something to wrap around the Legend's face. To be honest, she wasn't sure if she should bring Paestri along. Finding only one kerchief in her pocket, Huni opted to use the front of Paestri's apron as a mask.
"Stay still, Pae..." Huni instructed to the squirming infant as she tried to tie the apron on.
Paestri didn't want her apron on her face! That was silly and it made breathing a bother. Eventually, the apron was secured to the lower half of her face and she frowned at Huni from behind the mask.
Taking her own kerchief, Huni wrapped it quickly around her nose and mouth before picking Paestri up and following after the others. She was glad that there was a great deal of light at the end of the tunnel, though she wondered how exactly this all got there.

Scooping up the babe, hefting him over to one hip, Levi grunted and reached for the odd little pet as well. He didn't know if it belonged to the baby, but he'd learned a valuable lesson from his little sister, Nisha. Babies threw fits when they were away from their pets.
Snagging Suds if he was allowed too, Levi waddled towards the fireplace entry. He wasn't very strong, not like Elle or Devi, but the boy was only a little thing. The others seemed to have guardians or parents with them, so, they should be okay....right?
Shuffling into the passage, scooting aside any char or sharp bits with his foot to make way for the random collection of animals, Levi hurried to catch up.
"Wren! Eh! Uh...where b'Lahfe?" The boy was here, wasn't he? Why wasn't he with Wren? The question died on his lips as he caught up to the adult...staring at the cavern that spread out before them.

(( AKI. YOU SPOILED THE FUN OF POUNCING SUDS. WE HAD PLANS, T___T. )) Wren merely gave Levi a brief, curt nod as he disappeared back out the way he came. He was, actually, moving forward. Towards the light. This was going to be an interesting story to tell Halo. So, I was walking through this tunnel and heading towards the light. No, NO, I didn't have a near death experience. As if. Snorting to himself, Wren paused when he glimpsed the black kitten. "Waitig, are you? So, let's go ahead ..." Glancing back over his shoulder, sensing more people coming, he continued to move forward towards the light and into what looked like a cavern. 'Pounce?' If it was a mouse or a toy or even something else, obviously the brightly colored creature needed to be pounced. Lafe said so. His tail flicked, nudging Clare once again, and once he was close enough he seemed to be waiting for some cue. As if him and Clare were suppose to pounce at the same time. Once it was obvious that Suds was getting picked up, Lafe let out a whine. NO FAIR.
Grumbling, he started to prowl after Levi. He, obviously, had what he wanted to pounce and he was going to get it. ... or attack Levi's boots. One or the other. Lafe paused long enough to look back at Clare. Was he coming along? It'd be fun! His tail flicked back and forth rapidly, silver-blue eyes gleaming.
Stopping in his foot steps, Wren turned back towards the opening that lead into the cavern and looked at Levi. "Lafe? Uh, well ... he's around, but he's not the same." A brief pause. "He's a small red fox. He's around, I'm surprised you haven't seen him."
