after blade had asked her name, poke decided that the best course of action was to take to girl to her home. Perhaps there they could have the help of her other relatives.
"Riwen..." poke started carefully. "could you tell us where your house is? we can take you there and...erm make sure your alright." The idea also surfaced that she may have some relatives that could shed some more light on the situation.

Riwen stared at Poke for a moment, with more tears welling up and her lip quivering. Before long she started to sob even more, not really saying anything. It sounded like she tried now and then but couldn't talk through the tears.
The dragon and the human looked at eachother before looking back at the elf.
said Maelthra.

The fact that she didn't say anything but sob, in a sense gave poke the answer she was looking for.
I think that this elf was her last relative... She told Varun, whom nodded in response.
Even so, she should still have a place to go to, right?
I'm not complety sure.. poke stated, letting the girl sob into her shoulder. Depends if it was him who owned the house, or if they were living with someone else. Would she even be able to afford a place to stay now? poke sighed, wondering how exactly were they going to solve this problem

With a sigh, Blade watched the elf cry into Poke's shoulder. After a few minutes, her sobs became more subdued, allowing her to breathe more easily.
"H-he was all I had left..." she said between sniffles, still having some difficulty.
It was at that point, that Riwen's Kulgenki showed up; a small panda who seemed to have just woken up. The panda blinked at the scene before him. The look of confusion soon turned to shock, and then concern though, as the elf filled it in on what was going on mentally. And now it almost looked like the panda was going to start crying as well (if a panda could cry), but it managed to hold back the tears.
"Riwen says she's really sorry too. She didn't mean to blame you guys... she just didn't know what to do.."

looking a little surprised that her kulgenki would be a panda, poke quickly hid the surprised and smiled. "thats alright, I could imagine this would be terrible for both of you to handle"
Noting that the panda seemed a little more composed then the girl, varun slowly stepped up to it. "would you be able to tell us anything about him? and why he was up on the moutain?"

The panda seemed to be a bit hesitant, taking a few moments to converse with his Humakin. However, he soon looked more towards Varun with a sigh.
"I'm not really sure.. He told us this morning he was going out to run some errands in the city and that he'd be back in a few hours... He never said anything about leaving into the mountains."
Listening to this, Maelthra shook his head. This didn't sound like they were going to be getting any clues of what the guy was doing in the mountains.
"Did he have any enemies?" he asked.
The panda hesitated once again, trying to think of any specific examples.
"We don't think so. But Riwen says that it seems like he wasn't telling her everything anyway.."

"It sounds like this guy may have had a few more secrets then he lead on about...." poke mentioned
"yeah, but he'd need a pretty big secret in order for someone to target him specificly. it still strikes me as odd, he doesn't seem to be anyone worth doing this to."
"it still is weird, that he wouldn't mention going to the moutains. And he went by himself, which isn't always smart"
"Unless you have a strong kulgemki to protect you" varun interjected.
"well yeah of course...speaking of kulgenki, what kind was thentos?" poke asked the panda.

Blade nodded grimly at the comments Poke and Varun said back and forth to one another. Then, as the dragon asked the panda about Thentos, he looked more towards it, now curious about what sort of Kulgenki the dead elf had as well.
"Thentos was an air scorpion, a big one too. About the size of a pony," it replied.
Taking a moment to imagine this, Maelthra shook his head to himself. He hadn't seen a scorpion that large before, and it was slightly unsettling to think of one.
"Thentos and Lyrell always protected us..." the Panda added afterwards.

"an air scorpion??!?!" poke repeated dubiously. "As big as a pony?! that would be almost as big as varun!!"
Varun was also trying to imagine what the air scorpion would look like, and came up with the image of a white scorpion with puffy wings. It took alot of self control on pokes part not to burst out laughing at the image, and he turned around in order to allow himself not to smirk.
"still...thats somewhat concering" poke said to blade and maethra. "it would be wuite hard to beat a kulgenki like that, as the size along suggest he was pretty high leveled...it just doesn't make any sense..."

"Yeah... and there still weren't any signs of the attacker," mentioned Blade, who had furrowed his brow at the new information, "Whatever did it had to have been really powerful."
added Maelthra privately, figuring it wouldn't be right to say something like that out loud.
At those words, the thief casted him a glance before looking back at the elven woman. She looked to be maybe in her teens, but chances were that she was older then him. Riwen had stopped crying, but she kept her head low and didn't speak up. Though the reason for that was probably because she didn't want to end up breaking out into more sobs while trying to talk.
"I don't get how this could have happened. What was he doing? How did he die..?" said the Panda, though more to himself than to the others, "Oh... and thanks for taking him back here.."
It was at this point that the guard returned with a couple people. They had a stretcher with them, so it was likely that they were going to take the body for examination now.
"Good to see you all kissed and made up. We'll take the body now."

casting a look at each other, varun and poke nodded at the guards words, but didn't say anything. In truth, it should of been up to the elf to decide what shoudl be done, but perhaps this would be a better option, seeing that she wasn't dealing with any of this at all.
They still hadn't found out why the elf had been killied either. What the girl had told them was all just basic assumptions. As they pondered away, and idea suddenly occured to poke.
"Have you had any strange happenings in this town lately? disapearences, strange noises, people being injured, or...?" poke asked the guard before she could leave.

The guard paused, just as the body was set onto the stretcher. Thinking about it, she turned towards Poke to speak.
"There have been some reports of some attacks over the past couple weeks. About one or two really. This incident might be linked, but we need to investigate more to find out really."
Blade frowned at the news. It seemed that all the information they were getting really didn't help with figuring anything out. Maelthra was a bit frustrated as well, as he snorted soon after the guard finished speaking. They weren't sure if she was being vague on purpose or what.
"Some people around town claim it's Inskilio. But that's just absurd," she added, "Now if you excuse us, we have work to do."

Sighing once the guard had left, poke looked at varun for some sort of idea on what to next. Varun just shrugged his shoulders.
We could just leave it to the townspeople to solve this Varun said through their telepathic link we've done our civic duty, and there really isn't any reason why we should involve ourselves with people who don't seem to want our help.
"hmmmm..." poke thought, taking glances at the pandas kulgenki and the elf girl. "why would the guards of this town purposely hide information?"
"Thats assuming they have information to hide from us" Varun pointed out, then thought some more of the idea. "The only reason they would hide information would be to prevent the townspeople panicking from a potention threat. Though the only threat I could think of would be if other nations where trying to spy on us"
"And that would be assuming these spies would know our location" poke said to him.

"I'm pretty certain they don't know where we are," interjected Blade, "But there are some other possibilities. Maybe there is a feral out there... not Inskilio but something else. Either that or some mad serial killer of sorts."
Neither of those prospects sounded too good, he thought, but to him it was at least better than their city's location being found. With the two possibilities he listed, the problem would be a more of a short term one. There was still danger, but not quite like one that may mean armies marching up to the city's borders.
At this point, the Panda was nuzzling its Humakin some, to try and comfort the girl. Maelthra looked at the two, then at Blade to see if he had any idea of what they should do.
asked the thief.
"Yeah we do..." said the dragon while looking back towards the wood elf, "Well, get up on your feet Riwen. We need to run an errand quick, but we'll walk you home if you'd like."
"We would like that," said the Panda as Riwen nodded her head as well.

"if it's a actual feral, then the guards could easily take care of it" poke said after blade had suggested his idea. "It would be easily outnumbered."
When maelthra told the girl they had to finish their errand, poke got to her feet and helped the girl up. "Well walk you home as well" poke said. "Then, we'll proably have to leave with these guys."
