Elisia tried to summon a small smile as Kato told her that she was not worthless. At least, it felt a little better to get everything off her chest although she felt a little weird about telling people this. Shaking her thoughts from her head, she watched as Kato seemed to try to get something else out. Angels? She had not really thought much about it now...
"Why not? After all, the Shinigami exist even though the humans can't see nor do they believe in us. There might be things that we can't see either. We don't have to know or see to believe as it just requires faith." she tried to work out a proper answer, "I'm not really sure. I've never actually thought about it until now. Why? Do you know of one?"
Elisia was not trying to make fun of him, she had her own way of working things out. Maybe it would make sense if he explained his situation.

"Well, they're one of the reasons I'm here." Kato breathed a little easier. It was a lot easier to continue after you got over the possible embarrassment. "My time in the world of the living was...not so fun, I'll put it that way. I was on the street, reduced to nothing more than a guy that most people would ignore. Chances are, if you had seen me, you would have ignored me too. My dad was non-existent...and my mom..." He smiled. "My mom...From what I hear, she's was the most kind, the most generous person who had ever lived. After I heard all the things she did for people, I picked my life up. I wanted to be like her." A film of tears covered Kato's eyes. "Then....she died. I didn't even see her. I didn't even know if she remembered me. I was lost in despair once again, and threw myself into a car the day after her funeral....While I was here, I walked around aimlessly, not sure why I was here, and probably would be just the same as I was before if it wasn't for a dream I had. A beautiful angel, dressed all in silver, came and told me one thing. 'Don't give up hope.' He gave me a white feather and a silver cross." Kato smiled. "Now here's the amazing part. When I woke up, I was holding a white feather in my right hand, and there was a cross around my neck...I don't know how it happened, and I don't want to know. I just wish for faith, and the power to protect those who can't protect themselves...for people the way I used to be."

He sighed, unsure of what to say next.

Elisia was silent for a minute, trying to absorb everything that he had said. His mother. She turned her head away quickly, trying to hide her tears. Unfortunately, she was always really easily moved by anything sad.
"Don't worry. You're just like your mother. After all, the job of us Shinigami is to help others. And isn't that what you are doing? I think...that your mother and that angel would have been proud of you if they were here right now..." she said, trying to wipe her tears away.
Wasn't that silver cross the only thing that saved Kato when he was fighting the Espada? Maybe angels were real. Elisia sighed. She didn't really know what to say or do now. Kato had been human once. Inside, she wondered what it would have been like to live like him. She had fully known about the better-off humans. People like Kato were relatively unknown to her, since she had rarely visited Earth.

Kato reached into his pocket and took out the diamond and ruby necklace that he had gotten from the box in his his quarters.

"I want you to have this. You're the only person who hasn't ridiculed or teased me about anything I said. 3 weeks ago, I found this box under my sword. It read, "For someone special. Mom". At the time, I was confused and sort of disbelieving of the whole situation. How could she send me a necklace? Was it hers? I...think it makes sense now."

He extended her hand for her to take the necklace.

"Don't know whats going on.. Don't know what went wrong.. "
~/The name is../~Remito Yuro
Remito moved the last few noodles around in her bowl, before pushing it away. "It's alright, sir. I really just go with the flow of things." She moves her hand in the air, mimicking the wind. She smirks and looks as a girl entered the place, Elisia, if Remito wasn't mistaken.. Which she hardly ever was, when it came to names.. Following behind her was Kato, and Yuki had always been there. Remito raised a hand to them in greeting and held up the bowl for one of the people to come and take it away.

Elisia was surprised and felt a little awkward. She couldn't accept this gift! She didn't want to hurt Kato's feelings but...she just couldn't take something so precious away from him. Not to mention the fact that it had been his mother's. Should she accept it? Suddenly an idea flashed into her mind. She could give a present to Kato too - she had just the thing from her past childhood which her father had presented to her.
"Thank you. I'll treasure it...But can we go by my quarters later? I have something for you too..." she said.

She slipped it onto her neck where it settled there comfortably. Trying to think of something else to talk about, she settled on a question she had been meaning to ask for a while.
"I was wondering, what happened to you after the battle? I couldn't find you and...you seem...different now. Did you go somewhere?" she asked, since that had piqued her curiosity.

Tomomi chuckled a little, "You're a strange one, Miss. Remito.. I think that's probably why I recommended you to this squad; we needed someone that thought outside of the box more often." Tomomi sips on his rice milk and finally gets his ramen. He eats a little bit and the waiter takes the bowl from Remito. He saw the Kato and Elisia walk in while him and Remito were talking, and could feel the presence of Yuki. He felt strange for a moment and shook it off, "Mm, must be a new spice in the ramen." He eats a little more and looks to Remito, "I think we should ask Miss. Yuki over; she's all alone." Tomomi stands up and bows to Remito, "Excuse me for a moment." Tomomi walks over to Yuki and bows his head to her, "Madam Yuki, would you join me and my 3rd seat at our table? You were all alone, so I thought you would like some company; unless you wish to stay by yourself?" Tomomi raises his head and looks at Yuki; a sweet smile he usually carried when pleased spread across his child-like face.

"No problem." Kato's eyes widened. "Sure, I dont mind." He thought for a moment. "Where was I? Captain Hei requested me for an experiment on who knows what...After that, I was kinda down because of my performance on the battlefield. Kanpata, my zankaputo, wouldn't have that so he decided to train me. I had to do it in secret....When I finished, I had learned another shikai. I was so grateful to him, I promise to him and my captain that I would never act or perform that way again. So I went to the training field. I was alone for most of the time, until my Captain showed up. We sparred for a while, and I think he is impressed with my ability now. But I kept training after he left....and then you showed up." He smiled.

"Atta boy..." She smiled a little, drained her bowl uncharacteristically of a lady and let out a sigh of satisfaction. She watched them for a bit, content with just listening. Then Tomomi came around and she accepted his offer with a smile. "Alright." She slid out of her chair, stood, and strode towards their table. After sliding into a chair, she smiled at Remito, did her quick routine check of the girl's vital systems (and Tomomi's as well) with her own power and then smiled. Everything seemed alright, for the moment.

Tomomi walked back to the table and sat down. He looked to Remito, "Of course, you probably know Madam Yuki, Miss. Remito. If you haven't heard, she's also the brother of our Squad Twelve Captain, Hei. Yuki is among the nicest onces you'll ever find, like the past Squad Four Captain; she is the one I nick-named, The Mother of the Seireitei.." He smiles to Yuki, "I don't believe you've met my 3rd Seat Officer, Remito Yuro, Madam Yuki." He eats a little of his ramen and sips some rice milk.

Elisia was surprised. He was training? She nearly hit her head on the table. She was busy looking after everyone else while others were training themselves. Another shikai? Actually, she did not know what Kato's actual abilities were.
"I bet you're really good now. I'm not really that skilled with my zanpaktou. I think I should train later too. You weren't that bad on the battlefield - the Espada were really powerful. After all, I could barely do anything except heal people and provide support..." she said.

Still concentrating on the conversation, she was still able to hear Captain Tomomi approach somebody and ask the person to join him. Madam Yuki? Elisia's brain quickly processed everything. The awkwardness which had quickly vanished. The sweet smell. The ease. No...It couldn't be! Did Yuki use some kind of her powers to influence them? Hopefully not. However, her mind was diverted by the arrival of their food. She dipped the chopsticks into her ramen and smiled at Kato.

"I hope I am....I can't afford for it to happen again. Often I wonder what state I would be in if it wasn't for the cross and you." He paused for a moment. "Would you like some help training? I don't think two Lieutenants going at it would be too much of a problem.." Finally, his sushi had arrived, but it wasn't shrimp. "Shimatta...I swear I told them shrimp!" He eyed Elisia's ramen. "I should have gotten that...it looks good and they got you what they ordered." He laughed.

"Don't know whats going on.. Don't know what went wrong.. "
~/The name is../~Remito Yuro
Remito sat with her heels tucked together under her chair, watching Tomomi walk over to Yuki, as to invite her to the table. Her fingers absently circled around the top of her tea cup, making a quiet ringing sound. Remito smiled as Yuki stood and walked back with Tomomi, the woman had looked a tad lonely. "Whoa and behold.. She's walking over to me.." Remito sang under her breath and smiles as they get to the table. "Hello, Yuki, as Tomomi so kindly mentioned.." Remito's eyes shifted to Tomomi, then back, " I am Remito.." She extended her hand and continued to smile.

Elisia smiled again.
"I'm sure that you would have figured a way out. Though the Espada are really brutal...And I'd love you to help me. After all, we can see just how much you improved!" she said casually.
She looked at the bowl of ramen and pulled a wry smile. It did look good admittedly but there was the tiniest problem with it. When did she order a large size? Ah well, she might as well share. Holding a set of chopsticks, she expertly removed some noodles and held them over the bowl which she moved towards Kato.
"Here, try some of mine. I just ate recently and I don't think that I'd be able to fit in much more." she offered.

Yuki took Remito's hand and shook it, releasing it not too qucikly, but not too late either, the perfect amount of time. "A pleasure. Mother, you say. You flatter me Tomomi. But I think I'd like to stray from names that make me feel old. I think we had this discussion once, if I recall." The cup of cocoa that she had ordered back at her table was circumvented to this one by a waitress. Yuki smiled, thanked her and took a sip, all the while listening to Elisia and Kato's conversation. She wasn't being nosy, really. She was like one of those girls that spied on a friend's first date to make sure everything went well. When they began to speak of Espada, she remembered the Espada that was fighting Satoshi. "Elisia fought an Espada?" This was news to her, as she had been out of it by the time Satoshi had gone for Elisia. Then she remembered something else. She would have to ask later.
