Claes' eyes hardened once more. "Vest does have a point, Aine. Even if they are but in training, fighting with the public brings a smear on the shiny record of the Dragon Riders."
Kotare rolled his eyes. And you're one to talk, Claes. Remember North Fort?

Klys nodded a hello at Skystar and Iliana, "but it's still..."
"quite weird, I aggree Klys." Izsa looked to the sky and she still saw nothing, she closed her eyes.
Klys closed his eyes and a flash of light dashed accros his lidded pupils. He saw the hold, not a rider in sight a small mini dragon swooped arround and cried for attention but no humman was there to give it. "Izsa. We have to go to the little one, I bet the creature knows where every one is." Klys climbed onto the green dragon's back. "We're going to the hold to see where every one's gone to."
Izsa lifted her wings and the two where in the sky soaring higher and higher. they zoomed with great speed back to the hold.

Aine started calling after them but the two did not hear for they had flown too far out of earshot. "They should not be traveling alone.They are still to be awaiting the arrival of their mentors." she said with concern. Vest's attention went away from Luca for a moment as he stared after the other two apprentices. "Someone should go with them." he said thoughtfully, preparing to mount Aine.

Luca looked after Klys questioningly, then glanced at Vest, "I'm guessing we're going too." he thought. Gesturing to Aodahn he hopped onto his back with a sigh. Luca could almost feel Aodahn smirking, "Look at it this way, at least his face didn't turn purple this time." Aodahn thought mischievously.

Claes nodded in approval. "A fitting test for the young students." He turned to Vest. "Master Vest, perhaps we could scout the borders of the ritual grounds while we await them? Kotare has yet to eat today."
The dragon gave an audible growl, or it may have been his stomach. Quite a pain, if you ask me. He said grouchily. If the hunger pangs don't subside soon I think I'll shrivel up.

Vest stared at Luca for a moment as though he was examining him, then gave a small nod. "Very well. Luca, you and Aodahn are to follow Klys and Izsa. Signal to me or Aine at the first sign of trouble. Do you understand?" he demanded strictly.

Klys heard Aodahn flying up beside him, "Luca! Come on we're going to the main court!" Izsa flew in slowly and landed inthe middle of the court, Klys had a feeling of dred in his stomache, there he saw the little Mini dragon lying on the ground. It had to be the pet of one of the hold lords or a harper. It's chest moved slightly, it was probly dying of starvation or thirst. "Luca, Come here I've found a mini, It's almost dead, let's find it some food and drink." Strange not but an hour ago this court was filled with manny people and harpers singing and laughing going about daily busness, now it's a dead zone. Klys spoke through his mind, the sounds echoed as if he said the thoughts out loud.
I aggree it's creepy and not natural if you ask me "Aodahn scout from the skys with me. we may not be able to see much, but it's still worth it." Izsa looked toward the other rooky dragon.

Luca nodded, running up to the mini dragon, he knelt beside Klys. Aodahn followed Izsa with a worried glance at Luca before taking off in into the skies. Luca pulled a pouch of water off his belt and handed it to Klys, "Here." he muttered, listening to the dragons breath.

Aine began to growl in the back of her throat. "Something isnt right at the hold. I can feel it now!" she said urgently. "Kotare can you not feel it also?" she asked worry seeping noticably in her voice.

Skystar knelt down as Iliana slid off her back. Something is wrong little one, she said. I feel it.
Iliana looked up at her companion. I know, she replied. I feel it to. It's like something or someone is missing from the world.

Kotare was silent for a moment, then he turned quickly to Aine. Someone is hurt or badly sick... I feel their suffering. It is the burden of we with black scales. He said. We must trust the students to their task though. I suggest we scout this area.
Claes nodded. "I agree. Perhaps you should come, Vest? You and Aine could come with Kotare and I. Iliana, would you mind if I asked you and Skystar to join the other two student pairs?""

"Yes we will go with you." Vest answered, but he wasn't looking at Claes. Instead he was staring out into the distance where the faint outline of the hold could be seen. "The students are all well trained. Luca and Aodahn may both be reckless but they're are also resourceful and strong-hearted. They will be fine." Aine assured him gently. Vest nodding easily leaping onto her back. "Let us go then." And so Aine took off slowly rising in altitude as they entered the sky.

Luca examined the dragon, there was a long cut along its side, "I think it was in a fight." he said quietly, so as not to startle the dragon.

Claes nodded, leaping with two jumps atop Kotare. He hung from the dragons side like a daredevil as they lifted off, waving a farewell to Iliana and Skystar. He then swung himself around, underneath Kotare, landing perfectly atop the riding hollow.
Kotare sighed. Showoff. He said as he looped around to follow Vest and Aine.

Aine swooped about, her keen eyes carefully scanning over the seemingly tiny world beneath them. "Do you even know what it is we are looking for?" Vest asked her. "I will know when I see it. For now though, all we can do is look." she replied dropping lower for a better view. "See you anything Kotare?" she called to her fellow dragon.
