Walking through the festival, he would notice that there was some trouble going on in the festival and he was not gonna have any of that where respect was supposed to be shown. "I guess it's true that the bonds of the leaf village crumble just like the leaves of autumn? You should treat her with respect as you're both from the leaf village and the respect of my fellow shinobi who were killed by the leaf shinobi." All though this festival was a combination of other wars, it was to strike a blow to this Shadow fellow. He also hated people shoving their ranks around...honored or not, one should not act like absolute jerks to the ones around them. "Not to mention you throwing your honored rank around makes you seem more like a stubborn spoiled brat than anything else." Katagi would place his hands into his pockets as he smiled to see the response shadow would give him. He would nod to show Elruda that every thing would be all right.

(....Then I found out that i'm picking on a level 20... gonk Hope this doesn't make Katagi look like a bad guy, since nothing bad was really going on. )

[[>.> I’m kinda ignoring/disrupting everyone’s events to drag them to do something else. Hehehehhe.]]

Marcus was walking through the streets of the village. He was enjoying all the sights and sounds and even found some things to be a bit more… interesting than he had imagined. He would walk about the place and come up to a small stall with various clothes and displays around. He would smile looking about from one place to another, like a child at a toy store.

Crossing his arms, he began to look about and think on the items that were present. He had, after all, seen so many different pieces of clothes in his life that he figured he had somewhat of an eye for these types of things. The moment he began to look about, 2 people instantly shot into his mind. He began to look about for a moment and soon his eyes fell upon a set of clothes towards the back of the stall. They were… different to say the least and something that kids today would love. He smiled a bit and looked to the shop keep.

“Heeey. That’s nice. Can I get those two.” He began to ramble off the sizes of the clothes. The shop keep looked the man over and smiled a bit. He would give Marcus the outfits but then take out a kunai and threaten him when he tried to pay. Apparently, the Kage’s money wasn’t good at this shop.

[[the one wearing the cat ears is Elrude's, the one wearing the bunny ears is for Yokou]]

Marcus simply smiled and nodded and began to take the clothes in a tightly wrapped box.

He would head through the streets of the fair, purchasing all manor of snacks and food as he went. Some that most kids here would know and some that would be exotic. Marcus had invited several stands from far away lands to broaden the horizon of the kids.

And soon, his quest was over… or rather just beginning. He had been looking for someone in particular and decided that it’d be fun to travel with this person. She seemed to have a little gathering around her as well. Marcus would move to the boy named Shadow and place the boxes on his head. He also had a bag on his back which he was carrying the treats in. He would reach in and pull one out that would look like a colored cloud. He would undo the wrapping and shove it into Shadow’s mouth. “Here ya go kiddo.”

Marcus then would turn to Shinratsu, Shizuka and Elruda. Marcus would grin to Elruda a bit, “Hehehe, you’re a popular little midget now aren’t ya?” Despite her obvious rejection of the motion, Marcus would still pick her up by the waist and begin to lift her to sit her on his shoulder as if she was 3 or something. The freakish Kage was a bit stronger than his looks portrayed.

Of course, Marcus wasn’t as rude as he would seem. He looked to Shizuka and looked her over for a moment. It took a long moment as he had knelled to look her in the eyes then he would reach up and begin to feel on her ears, “Oooooooooooo so soft. Morde never lets me do this. Heheheheh” Ok… maybe he was that rude.

He had come up, interrupted the entire conversation and then messed around with each and every one of the people there… oh wait, not yet. He would stand and take Shinratsu’s hand “Donkashan(I’m spelling that miserably bad but its basically hello) Hehehe, looks like you got a midget infestation. Care for some company?”

Marcus would reach into his bag and pull out some grilled squid and a meat kebab with a piece of candy at the back end like a ‘prize’. He would hand the squid to Shinratsu and the kebab to Shizuka “There’s food and candy in it for yo~~~~~~~~u”.

"Haha...they're both really weird but really nice people...well, at least I know for certain Yokou-dono is." The last part was added almost thoughtfully: after all, Shinratsu honestly hadn't been around the Senju Hokage enough. "It won't be charity." He reassured her. "The concert aside the favor's repaid...now another to entrust something else..." He nervously fingered where he would have normally wore his locket. Senju better not lose his mother's necklace!

"What belongs to me is our whole team's. Nos sumus prosapia...we are family..."

"I'm...sorry to hear that..." And truly, he was. "But I doubt so...it's...natural for parents to want the best for their children, right...? I..." His voice trailed off. "...I really should've made most of the time when mine were alive huh...." It seemed like so long ago now - a distant memory, a distant dream - the days in the Fubuki castle... A soft pause. "Here...for you..." He held out the box with the painted Kitsune mask to Shizuka.

"They are said to ward off evil spirits...my family is Shinto, but I'm not quite sure if I myself believe that... But, who knows." He grinned. "Maybe they'll ward off depression too. Festivals should rightly be cheery, after all."

To the audience of kids glaring at Shadow, she burst into fake tears, rubbing dramatically at the corners of her eyes. "See how horrible he is!" She said loudly, gesturing in Shadow's general direction. But then, the cranks of the 'getting the hobo away from her nee-san plan' stopped turning and a smile lit on her pretty face when she saw Katagi. Cheerfully, she waved to him. "'tagi-kun! How are you..."

But then hearing the taboo word (midget), her aura darkened... Her eye twitched. "...you called me a superdementedfreeze-driedbeansprout..." At this, most of the crowd seem to sweatdrop and murmur 'he didn't say all of THAT'... As she cracked her knuckles and advanced to Marcus, and slowly - slowly - looked up...there was a frightening sadistic smile twisting what were once pretty, doll-like features... "I'll grow...just to spite you...now you pay...pay...pay..." The last part went disturbingly echoey...it was easy to see who had been a corrupting influence on the once sweet child's personality...

"And not only will I grow six hundred feet taller (ambitious much?) I'll get a-a-..." But she never finished her physique plans...because Marcus picked her up. "I'm not a bag of rice!! Put me-..." But remembering bad memories on Pegasus' back...and suddenly realizing she may very well fall if she kept struggling, with a small yelp and very grudgingly, she wrapped her opposing arm (to secure her position) around the Taida Kage's other shoulder. And so she sat, with a pout, her pale cheeks flushing rogue looking like the cute and doll-like child she was...despite the earlier display of manipulation and the demon-elf child from hell... They really did look like father and daughter here, despite the oddly-colored hue of the child's eyes and hair a darkly contrasting shade of midnight-blue to silvery-blonde.

In Elruda's opinion though...how frustrating! Marcus keeps treating her like a child!! (At that thought, her cheeks puffed out, the cross look becoming a little crosser but with the puffed cheeks only looked cuter...) But then, remembering something very important... More demure suddenly (albeit looking a bit worried?) she whispered. "I'm sorry..." And gave him a small kiss on the cheek.

That was apology for last night...for...blaming him.

The crowd went 'awwww' but inwardly, despite feeling guilty, Elruda was a little proud. Her mum hadn't told her to apologize THIS time - neither did Zephyr or Shikamori-jiji either! And she could care less about the bad guys circling around the area like hawks either...all the more better...they can report to those old geezers who looked like they'll drop dead at any moment that Marcus-jiji is loved by everybody, including kids - unlike...

Unseen by the others, sideways, she snickered at Shadow. The older Konoha shinobi got his wish for candy all right...maybe this be the one time the other could afford candy!

Shinratsu and a girl she haven't seen before came into the clearing...she glared at the Fubuki prince, daring him to comment. He'll be Kempo-ed faster than he can say the other taboo word (cute)... But she suddenly looked curious at the ears too. Her expression becoming childish again and an awed look in her pale-lavender eyes... "Shin-kun! Uwwwahhh...your girlfriend has cat ears...? Lucky~"

It should've been impossible (with his bloodlimit) but Shinratsu turned scarlet at the words. Firstly - how did the other even know of these things! Wait...he shouldn't either... But Shinratsu was top of his class back at Kiri and in his clan...finishing assignments early means he had lots of extra time with nothing to do...here, for once, visits to the library ended up more corrupting than productive with their rather...ehm...colorful romance novels. Curiosity kills the cat, or so they say... "T-that's n-not...!" He spluttered. In his nervousness, he began muttering away in Chinese how the Hyuuga princess got the wrong idea and he was merely talking to Shizuka - ...the other's his teammate!

"Zǎo shang hǎo (Good Morning)...Zhǔhou Mǎkùsī (Lord Marcus)." He greeted the Tsuchikage in fluent Mandarin...though rather subdued. But why did Shin choose to address Marcus in a language that was more seen in the eastern countries...? Well. Firstly, the Tsuchikage was near infamous for hating honorific formalities. Using Japanese as norm might end up with what had happened to Giglamesh-sensei...which of course, strictly speaking, he had no desire to cross. Then of course, his own life would theoretically be endangered if his Sensei was in the district and happened to see one of his Students showing respect to the arch-enemy of current...

"Zhū rú (midget)...infestation?" Shin said so carefully, almost curiously - half-astonished perhaps as the words slipped from his clan's native tongue and back into Japanese. "Ehm...arigatou gozaimasu...?" He mumbled almost uncertainly, though the formal form tumbled naturally from his lips, as he took the grilled squid on the stick...

He sweatdropped.

He never had carnival foods before...

[[s**t, I need to pay more attention. I thought Shin was a bit older. Hehehe. Oh well]]

Marcus looked to them. Apparently he was the only pillar of age here and he sweatdropped a bit. Hmmm this was of no good. Sides, it’d cause a lot of trouble but either way, he didn’t mind. He would smile to each of the kids and soon look to Elrude.

She… kissed him. He blinked a bit with his normal vacant glance and looked to her, “Oro? Ummm for what?” Marcus had forgotten already and decided that it didn’t matter. He would reach up and ruffle her hair completely out of decency, “Bah, whatever. Don’t sweat it chibi-chibi. Hmmmm yea I like that. You’re Chibi-chibi now.” He would snicker a little and then hear the Mandarin.

Turning a bit back to Shin he looked him over a bit and then tilted his head to the side. His face showed that he didn’t understand a word the boy was saying but… upon hearing the arigatou gozaimasu… his eye began to twitch a bit. Reaching over to the boy, he would begin to drill his knuckles into the boys head a little.

“Hey kid. What is the big idea of being so formal around me? I know you from somewhere do I not? Try it again, this time with no babbling.”

[[I can’t find a good translator. T.T soooo just pretend he’s speaking in Mandarin. Sorry.]]

He would then smile to the boy and nod a bit. “I’ll forgive you this time though.” He then looked on ahead to the rest of the festival. “Well now, enough about this. Let’s go have some fun ok midgets?”

He would begin to lead the children to the rides and games portion of the festival. There were several rides that had been assembled for the week long event. One of the most distinguished (and controversial) was a rollercoaster that had been set up. It was so large that it had to be set up outside the village wall. No one was quite sure how the behemoth ride got placed up in such a short amount of time (it was up in a single night) but still, it stood there. At around noon each day, it cast a shadow over literally half of Iwagakure. Marcus smiled to the kids and looked to them, “Wanna go for a ride?”

"I know my mom does...my dad on the other hand, who knows what he's doing now." She planned to find him one day...the thoughts of what she would do to him if she met him. The thoughts of killing him was one of the top ones, all though that quickly dropped as Shinratsu offered her the Kitsune Mask. "Shin-shin-kun! T-thanks!" She was planning to buy one herself but this makes it much better! "My mom and me also believe in Shintoism. What a coincidence, nyaa?" Shizuka said with a cat like smile as she placed the mask onto her face.

Just as she began to look around with the mask equipped on her face, she would feel some one tugging onto her hat. "N-nyaaa~! Who is that!?" She heard a voice which sounded familiar, why would he be trying to reach for her ears if she hasn't reached the Kihongenri stage of her keikkei genkai? She would pull her hat down to cover her eyes, but when she heard food...that was a whole different story! "Food!? Nyaa! Of course! I've been starving for a while now!" Lifting up the mask a bit to expose her eye to see and her mouth to eat the kebab, she would om nom nom the food given to her. Shizuka would nod as he questioned if they wanted to go on a ride. "I thought we aren't supposed to go on rides after eating?"

"Nothing much really...Being lazy and without a team as usual, all though my oddball family as been nagging and pressuring me to become more active as a ninja." He couldn't really blame them, by now he could of been a Chunin and probably have his own team to compete against gigs. But you know what they say, haste makes waste... "How abo-...oh dear." Katagi would witness the events unfold, Marcus would call Elruda a midget and all hell broke loose. "I'm here...you know...Tsuchikage-sama..." Katagi would mumble quietly to himself as a dark cloud of depression would loom over him as he wasn't invited or given food by the kage...was he that invisible? Maybe his hair was too white that it made him look like an old person? Shinratsu's hair was nearly the same color, what made it different then? "Is...he touching that poor girl ears? Our kage is a pervert...isn't he?" Katagi thought to himself, he could suggest the younger ones to come with him, but alas he had no money to even buy anything for himself.

[[>.> s**t, missed your post. How’s this make up for that?]]

Katagi would soon feel something nudging him from behind. As he would turn around. A small pony was behind him and smiled. “heheh, from Marc-kun.” On the pony’s back was a bag of candy. She would move and dump it onto Katagi and then scoop him up and begin to carry him towards the group. Some where along the way, Marcus had summoned the youngest of his summons… but don’t ask when or where.

Marcus would look back to Shizuka and grin, “Well… you’re not SUPPOSE to but those are just snacks. You should be ok.. maybe… possibly. HEY! What are we talking about, we’re ninja here!”

Strangly enough, the ride was also called ‘the ninja’. As unimaginative as the name was, that was about where the lack of imagination ended and the terror began. Multiple twists, turns and sudden drops. Gaps in the track to terrify the user and it even split in certain areas to send riders into different locations. There was also genjutsu seals placed around the ride to give the illusion of almost getting your head cut off by a strangely lowering beam or a samurai slicing at you out of no where. Needless to say, this thing was on the Top 5 BEST rollercoasters for about 3 years straight now.

Elruda huffed. "I'm NOT a chibi!"

"Oof!" Said Shin (expression: @_@) as knuckles grounded into the sides of his head. A weak mumble. "Sum rumex..." I am sorry... But soon enough the Kage got his wish and rather mutely, the children began following - Elruda not having much of a choice there though she didn't seem to mind...he following but stopped and waited for Shizuka to come along...

Along the way, suddenly curious...Elruda inquired to Shin, who was eating his squid. "...Mandarin and not dialect, formal greeting and 'zhǔhou' huh...?" Zhǔhou formally referred to the nobility: with five divisions in descending order, gong (equivalent to duke), hou (marquis), bo (count), zi (viscount), and nan (baron). Rank-wise, the royal families like Senju and Uchiha in Konoha or the ruling Fujiko family in Ame would be referred to as gong - Hyuuga would be referred to as hou and the other families of the Konoha Twelve in the ensuing order of descent. Though as the indigenous noble family to the area long before Senju had settled, Elruda's family were referred to formally as gong-hou - they might not have participated in the founding directly but was referred to as an ancient family from the area before Konoha even existed and eventually officially gong by reference; when one of their family took the Kage seat.

Then that means...without a doubt now, the necklace with Shin's. Must be some sort of heirloom pendant. "So Shin-kun's family is from the aristocrats...? And since there's no accent...you're a native speaker, too..."

"Oh...you understood...?" The boy laughed, albeit nervously. It was unexpected to say the least that there would be ones to understand his native tongue here... "Hou in Kiri, gong in Yuki. My family moved to Kiri around...seven hundred years ago. Well...anyhow, Chinese was my clan's native tongue. We spoke Japanese just to settle in - in Kirigakure no Sato." A pause. "So you are a speaker too?"

Elruda sweatdropped. "Eh-heh...well...a little...well...yes, Hyuuga are natively Chinese...but well..." And finally, hung her head. "...I ran away from the language lessons you see..." She admitted. "There were too many...too many..." She muttered, shuddering. As much as she had a penchant for learning languages, who gives what the teachers praise or think...she found the lessons a pain - a PAIN!

Shin grimaced. "I don't blame you...native and local tongues aside, there's Latin - demand to learn the root classical tongue...Spanish...French...German..." He began counting off the more esteemed tongues the aristocratic children were forced to learn...and then the vague languages Elruda could've sworn were dead! Egyptian? How many did Shin learn...?

"Exactly." Muttered the girl. "Why do we need to learn so many anyways? Tch. Most speak Japanese nowadays..." A pout as she puffed out her cheeks again. But then, a nonchalant shrug. "Anyways, as far as Chinese goes...I can read...mostly...aw, come on Shin-kun you got to admit the traditional calligraphy is not fun to learn - and well, understand what you just said but ehm...speech is a bit problematic..." She scratched her head sheepishly.

Turning her head slightly to face Marcus... "So Marcus-jiji suffered language lessons too - woah! That wasn't there the other day before!" But the question ended in surprise at the sight of the roller coaster.

Marcus shook his head, “Nope. I learned on the fly. I wasn’t even expected to be a proper diplomat of the Taida family, let alone the Kage so they didn’t waste their time on teaching me to speak pretty and dance good.” He spoke those last parts, purposely, with horrid grammar. He would chuckle a bit thinking about how he learned some of the languages he knew.

“First language I learned was English. Learned it from a con-man in Suna to make folks think I was a tourist or something who got lost and needed some help. In my travels I’ve had to learn all manor of languages and dialects through-out my lifetime. I found it fun really… Being able to surprise folks by making them think you don’t understand. You saw the kid here. He didn’t know what to think when I started speaking Mandarin.”

Marcus then looked to Elrude and smiled a little, “Hmmm yea Chibi, that’s called… well as corny as it sounds, it’s the ninja. Lets go take a ride.”

He began to lead them to the gates. Once more, his position as Kage made entry extreamly easy. He would walk through and get into the seat and begin to help the other kids into the seats.

The seats were a bit… out there. You see, the reason the ride was called the ninja was because one had to use chakra control on the small plates they stood on. There were minut harnesses to support the person but…

Marcus opted not to place any harnesses on the kids except the minimal ones. “Alright rug rats, here’s were things get fun. Use your chakra control to bind your feet to the plate below. You need to keep your chakra flowing as much as possible while this thing is going or else…”

It would begin to rain candy...raining candy? What kind of festival was this? "Candy? W-Woah!" As he would turn around in reaction of the nudges the pony gave him, he would be scooped up onto the back of the Pony. "T-thanks!" Katagi Thanked the pony as she carried him on with the group. There was nothing but silence as the pony carried the older Genin on her back, until a question popped into Katagi's head. "You must know a lot about Marcus-sama right? If that's the case then would you or he know about our last Tsuchikage? What happened to her?" It's not like he hates the current Tsuchikage but it juxst felt odd how she just vanished out of no where.

This had to be the best kage there ever was! Breaking the rules of not doing active activities after eating! Where were they going anyway? "Om nom nom!" Shizuka continued to eat the kebab with a cat like face. "Shin-Shin-kun! What's with the water type countries speaking chinese? Kirigakure and Yukigakure? Would Amegakure speak chinese too. nyaa?" It was quite confusing and it was hard understanding what they would say when they do speak it...it's like some secret code or something and she must know it!

Red was quiet. She looked back to the boy then sighed a bit. “Well… we’re not sure. To be honest… Marcus just got a message one day asking him to come home. When we got here… he was made Tsuchikage… as far as we know, she just up and vanished… But… Marcus wasn’t close to her or anything… they knew each other as far as I know but that’s about it…” She soon began to gallop to catch up with the rest of the crew.

At the coaster, she would begin to pout a bit, “Waddaya mean no horses allowed!? I’ll have you know I’m the Tsuchikage’s horse thank you very much!”

“Ok ok Red. Calm down. Hehehe, you know you can’t ride this. We’ve had this talk before. Watch over the candy and our stuff ok?”

The horse grumbled a bit and looked away. “Fine… meany. When I get bigger, I’m gonna make the biggest, bestest roller coaster only for horses and not let you on! So THERE!”

Marcus sighed a bit and looked to Katargi then grinned. “You like candy huh? Might wanna eat that fast and empty your pockets. It’d be a shame if all your stuff fell out while we were going through a loop. “

"Just as I thought..." Katagi said quietly to himself. She's still out there some where and until she comes back, no one will ever know where she went. This festival is for all the fallen shinobi in iwagakure's wars and such...maybe this would be for her also? "Heeey...I'm pretty sure she could ride this roller coster. What other horses have you seen able to talk and understand us? What's the worse that can happen if she does ride?" Hearing Marcus tell him to eat the rest of his candy. "Not to ask the same question as Shizuka-chan..." He looked around at the others going on the ride, he didn't want to look like a loser in front of them. "N-nevermind..." He would begin to eat the candy given to him, chocolate, fruit candies and such. Never in his life would he want to shove candy down his mouth that fast ever again. "F-finished, Tsuchikage-sama." Suger rush time, much? Katagi would stand ready to get onto the ride.

[[You know, i logged on earlier and said 'I'll post after work' and now i get back and i had to read so much! crying . NEVER wait until after work... ]]
[[Haha no worries, even though Shadow's higher level he's a pacifist and wouldn't really fight, so you could treat him like an academy student XD ))

Shadow kept a grin up as the boy spoke, he didn't feel a need to justify himself at all. The boy had taken Shadow calling himself honored as being snobbish, however Shadow wasn't lying when he said it. He was honored to be a shinobi of the Leaf, in the same way that he was honored to be here in the stone. If that made him seem a spoiled brat, then so be it. He also wondered for a moment if any of the others had actually taken the time to give a prayer to the fallen Shinobi of Iwagakure like Shadow had [Bwaha i knew that would play in my favor later on]. He almost wanted to bring it up, but at last moment decided against it. They seemed plenty fine hating him, who was he to take that away? With his smile still up, he began to open his mouth to throw another childish comment, however before he could do anything he was cut off by choking on a piece of cotton like candy. As his eyes went big he suddenly started laughing his a** off at the next series of events.

Haha shorty! I like this guy! He said while choking on laughter and candy. The events were so interesting that he didn't even mind the boxes on his head, even though it made him pretty much a foot rest. He looked up at everyone getting on a ride and just grinned. He slowly stepped back away from the Hyuga woman and headstrong boy who liked to jump into arguments without knowing things. That and he was partly interested at the box on his head. He bobbed it off his head and caught it with his foot, without opening it yet, instead just examening it and letting everyone else go on towards the ride. He was more into the idea of games and competitions than rides. Maybe running along side the ride and throwing eggs at those two kids... Hmmmm...

[[Sorry i missed some things, there was so much to read i just sort of skimmed posts <.< ]]

A festival that celebrated death? In the back of his mind Raisuke just thought it was completely freaking morbid. He wouldn't take the time to voice his opinion.. but he showed up anyway. He knew this was where most of his friends and team mates would be practically all week long. Not to mention new faces.. new faces that could probably be unpleasant. Especially if the Tsuckikage had anything to say about it. Seemed like he only approached if he wanted something.. hopefully Raisuke had him all wrong. Well off to join in the festivities.

Raisuke wasn't in his normal attire. Because for once it seemed he wasn't equipped with his weapons. His pants were semi-baggy for once. A dark blue that could almost be mistaken for black. His shoes were nothing special, just looked like something that was casually comfortable. But he wasn't wearing a shirt. He figured in the middle of the summer he could pick up some kind of color to his skin from the down beating sun. His hair hung down in the back, not tied up and his headband was no where to be seen.

Raisuke continued through some of the festivities of the festival. Looking back and forth at the shops. Kind of window shopping a bit. He knew that he couldn't spend any money at them though. Could only really spend his money on the essentials. The new blades he was saving up for wouldn't forge themselves. And for a gennin, the blacksmith was a pretty expensive price. Raisuke would just continue to walk around by himself for awhile. Before he noticed a couple of familiar voices. He heard the voices of Shizuka and Shinratsu, as well as a couple of unfamiliar voices. Raisuke just kind of stood where they were with the....Tsuchikage? "s**t.." He kind of grumbled. If they heard him it would have probably got their attention, but who knew how Marcus might react.
