I was so freaked out during a chair test that I just played scales (note: It was a part of the Nutcracker -_-) And I still got 3rd chair (out of 4... sweatdrop )

babbitt One time I totally forgot all of the notes of the Chromatic Clarinet scale.....Then again that isan't anything new......I do it all the time...I can't ever *sniffle* remeber the *sniffle* clarinet chromatic scale!!!!!!!!! crying crying crying Don't feel bad. Last year, I had to play all of my scales and I messed up on A-flat... one of the scales that I've been playing since my second year on flute. >< I felt so dumb, lol. I needed like three trys to get through it.

twice for me, one time, it was for the all city band try outs, i did SO bad on the music, that i got 5th chair ( i should have gotten first, 5th was a TERRIBLE chair for me), and the only reason im upset about that, is because i got 6th chair in the region band, and the first chair from city band got 15th chair int he region band. and the other gay, our director had us play the 2nd part of thunder and blazes (the circus march), and i messed up SO bad on it, because on the 16th notes (tempo of 120, and i play trombone), i can tounge the notes pretty good and everything, i just messed up SO bad on the range, i did the best out of all of us, but i did SO bad. it was pretty funny.

I've never messed up on one... but there was this one time when I had first switched to bassoon, we were having 12 major scale tests. I was so worried that I would screw up I started hyperventilating, and my director was nice enough to let me wait a few days until I had them down better.

I've really never "bombed" a playing test. He never really gives the flutes any playing tests in the first place. But, it is kind of intimating playing in front of the whole band.

eek ...oh yes. A few years ago I did so bad I came out crying crying
I had to play in front of a video camera. The only way I got into the band the next year was cuz the director had told me I was already in it before he watched the tape. After he saw it he told me "Well, it was worse than I thought it would be" sweatdrop I still am embarased about that redface

I don't bomb the unimportant ones, I only bomb the big if you fail this test you'll be stuck in the sucky band all year tests. grrrrrrr bad memories scream

I just did that last week gonk I was so embarresed. I played worse than anyone on that song.
Luckily when I'm out of intermedite band and in the second concert band class, I won't have evil playing tests.

Just on Monday. I was doing a cheek-off ((A every week playing test)) it was and EASY song and I forgot to go back to the fine and I bombed on the test. But, a good thing is that I got to try again on tuesday and I passed it. ^_^

I was auditioning for Wind Ensamble, and the sight reading piece was for B Flat Clarient, and I play Bass Clarinet. All the notes were above the staff.. and I NEVER see notes that high for bass clarient, so I was inexperieced. I had to bring down all the notes an octave, and that was difficult for me.. so I didn't even play in rythem... i was just playing the notes as i figured them out. It was pretty awesome. I felt horrible afterwards.

Bombing a test.... ninja well once I was playing a soli with the bassons and I sneezed in the middle of it so it sounded like an elephant just went off in the concert hall. crying
