I suppose that I should poke my head in and throw out that I threw together a 1 Wizard a couple days ago (because I've always wanted to give At-Will Magic Missiles a spin. *laughs maniacally*)
*ahem* However, if the party balance is off, I'm willing to swap out for something else. I'm good at just fitting into whatever is needed.
As far as whether 3.5 or 4e is better, they're different games, yeah? Its like trying to compare Texas Hold 'Em with Solitaire.
I say just play and have fun, yeah? I'm an old 3.5 fan, but I'm all for giving 4e the good old college try. smile

You actually made a thread for this? Man, I should pay more attention. I'm still partial to optional rule heavy second edition (with the occasional 3.5), but I'm just splitting hairs. I've been meaning to try World of Warcraft 4th Edition out, anyways. I'm probably playing a Wizard again, but I haven't looked up all the 'new' classes or anything. I'm just saying. =D That's a good idea for when we start diverting rivers into dugeo-- I mean, it certainly speeds up travel via waterway.

Psychofish Two points: -You should really outline what sources you're okay with people using, and all the starting level/gold/pointbuy information on the first post. Make this a LOT easier for everyone involved. -If we're going on point-buy, how many points? Stuff added. I hope that helps. 3nodding

From the sound of it we've got healer, tank, and mage sorted out, so I guess I'll throw together either a Ranger or Rogue. Get some sneaky sneaky action going.

Also!!
We're going with a Party Size of 4. We'll do 5 only if we get to the point where we have too many standby characters.

Nah, I say we should have as many people join in as you get applicants.
Giant ******** are awesome. It also leads to more climactic (albeit sometimes confusing) battles, since there's bigger and badder things you can throw at us.

It also makes things way more hectic... Let's start at 4, and increase later if we decide to do so. I don't know how easily this is gonna pan out as far as online.
So we'll see.

Funny you mention that...
I want everyone who's interested to post what character they're making/wanting to be so we can start making the party.
I'll be adding classes to the names on the front page. Once we've done that, we can consider who's on standby duty, and who's a main. After that, we start doing practice runs to get used to everything.
EDIT: And on that note, I'm off to bed for the night. As usual, questions here and I'll answer when I can..

I'm still making that wizard.
It's no where near done, seeing as I take forever and a day to create characters.

Ammiel Moonblade I'm still making that wizard. It's no where near done, seeing as I take forever and a day to create characters. Current record on 3.5: 7 minutes. My old DM managed to make a character in 2

Oh, I can crank characters out too.
I just like to take my time to make my characters especially hardcore (usually with at least one crippling character flaw, be it a really low stat or a missing limb or whatever).
Of course, I always run the risk of spending a bunch of time creating a character that dies in a half an hour, but thems the breaks.

Well, if we're going with only four at a time I guess I shouldn't make a second defender after all. =/

Wild Wit is an energetic vanguard who wants to one day become the most powerful sorcerer in this world. At first, he was just a normal halfling who thought he was going to live a boring life as a shopkeeper of his family's general store business until he found out that he could wield magic. Of course, this discovery was found out by an accidental destruction of part of his parents' store, but it was an exciting discovery for this halfling. Quickly, his attitude changed about life, suddenly want to harness this power of his and go out and do something great with it. His parents were against this, but the halfling was too stubborn to obey, soon leaving out on his own. Being a vanguard was not an easy task, however, having him pick up some thievery ways in order to make it for a bit before he could become a full-fledged adventurer. Using his wittiness and good-looking charms, Wild Wit was able to talk his way through many situations, resulting in roguish friends thus giving him his nickname. Character Sheet: Wild Wit
