Brighten nodded and looked around. He saw a few underwater plants and then a small cave. "A cave? Do you want to see if it has good hiding spots? I can light it up in there." That way it wouldn't be too dark.

Lillison nodded her head, it sure was helpful to know someone with a light on their head, she would need him to find the secret spot again though. "Good idea" she told him as she started to swim towards the cave, pulling her end of the net along with her.

He pulled his side and then went into the cave. He lit it up as good as he could. His light wasn't too strong yet. They could only see around them. "You don't think anything lives in here, right?"

Lillison squinted her eyes and looked around. "I'm not sure..." she whispered, pretty spooked by the place. "Maybe, we can just hide it near the entrance. Not too deep..." Lillison decided as she started to swim backwards, she did not like being in a dark cave.

Brighten nodded his head which sent the light all over the cave. Shadows started to dance around and Brighten started to get scared. "I'm with you!" He found a dip and stuck the net in it. He then grabbed her hand and swam out before anything could get them.

Lillison let go of her side of the net when Brighten did and didn't look back. All the moving shadows, it was so scary there was definitely something in there, but at least it wouldn't be able to find their shells and maybe they'd come back to find them. "Phew, we barely made it out of there alive!!" she exclaimed.

"i know!" He didn't think it could be that scary in a cave. "That's twice today we survived and escaped monsters!" He then smiled at Lillison. "I think we are heroes, maybe monster-escapers!"

"Or monster attractors..." Lillison said sadly, she had never seen so many monsters in her life. In fact she had never seen a monster, and then today she had seen two! "We escaped them, so that is good." It would not be good if they attracted monsters but weren't able to escape them.

"Whoa, you have a point!" He looked around and wondered why they were such good monster attractors. "Why do you think that is?" Was it only when they got together? He did like attracting things with his light...but not monsters.

Lillison shrugged her shoulders, the only thing she knew was that she did not like being a monster magnet. "Maybe we're just at the wrong place at the wrong time?" Lillison hoped, she did not want to think it was them that caused it, she liked having a friend other then her little fishies.

Brighten nodded, they were at the really wrong place at the really wrong time. "How do we get to the right place and the right time?" He chuckled and smiled. He was happy he got to meet another naiad, it was an adventure anyway.

Lillison laughed at the boys joke "Well I guess we'd have to make a time rewinder or jumper, but I don't know how to do that" Lillison started to swim towards the surface of the lake, wanting to find the right place and it seemed like the deeper water was scarier.

"That would be cool. Then we would never run into monsters again." He followed her to the surface. Maybe in time his light would be bright enough that Brighten wouldn't get scared in dark water, for now he would just stay out of it.

Lillison's head nodded enthusiastically at that idea, making her little purple curls bounce. She didn't want any more monsters bothering them. "To bad we can't make one" Lillison said sadly, "But we should be safe up here" Lillison surfaced and smacked her fin against the water surface, making small splashes.

"Yeah, that would be cool." He didn't think he was smart enough to make some fantastic thing like that. He surfaced with her and looked around. She splashed and then splashed too. He chuckled and splashed a little at her.
