Ellandra paled, scooting closer to Faolan instinctively as fear welled up within her and threatened her in its chokehold. "Z-ziazan?" She muttered out, though there wasn't really any true meaning behind it, and she didn't feel well enough, really, to do much more, especially with fear wrapping around her and choking her.
She realized, distantly, that she was trembling, and swallowed past the lump in her throat, aware of.... not much, really, aside from how tired she was and the now overwhelming, choking fear. "I - I ....... it's - this is something bad, th-then....?" She managed to finally get out, though she didnt' really know if she would even undersand the Esssentic's answer.
Rhian moved to perch in the rafters. This wasn't a fear that she could calm, no matter how much she wished to. there was nothing she could do to help her owner-mother, not right now. She was learning more about when it was time to wait and let others care for her first, and this was definitely one of those times. That didnt' mean she wasn't concerned herself, however, her antennae and wings moved about as fast as she was capable of, the rising fear and worry in the room a palpable thing to the butterfly proto.

Faolan frowned, hugging Ellandra. "Out with it, hinny. What's wrong?"
Zia bit its lip, trying to decide how to tell them what it felt and saw. "You're sick. Both of you. Fao got it first . . . from the cat. He doesn't show illness easily, you've been tired, haven't you, Fao?" At the young man's nodding, the alter continued. "You gave it to Elle without knowing. Been more tired and sore, Elle? Yeah." The Essentic looked down, jaw clenching and unclenching a moment. "Now your baby boy has it and the girl's getting it. You have to go to a doctor and get treated. All of you."
It was a long moment before Faolan spoke, his voice thick. "What . . . um, what about you and Rhian? Are you sick, too?"
Zia shook its head. "We're fine. You'll have to let someone else have Rags, though. It's not the cat's fault, but you shouldn't have him here anymore. He's not sick, either, so you know, but he made you get sick." It looked up at Rhian in the rafters, telegraphing that she should come comfort her owner.
"Sweet Aveta," Faolan breathed, letting go of Ellandra and getting up to get dressed. "Ellandra, wife . . . fall apart on me after we get to the doctor, please. I need you with me right now." He hurriedly located a t-shirt and tugged it on, then went about searching for his boots.

Ellandra had no words to say, but when Rhian came down from the rafters and wrapped her arms around her neck, she pulled the flutterby to her and hugged her - a bit too tightly, but Rhian wasn't going to complain. Even she had no words right now, so she just hummed. Hummed and soothed her owner Mama as best she could, considering the gravity of the situation.
Luckily, this was enough to keep Ellandra anchored to sanity against the consuming fear, and she managed to stumble to the front room and shove on her shoes, forgoing socks since that meant she would have to let go of Rhian. She couldn't take the flutterby with her to the doctor, though, and she didn't know how she'd manage without her. She was barely holding on as it was.

Faolan moved to the front room, walking past Elle to get the front door, and looked at Rhian. "You're comin' with us, lass, but you have to be absolutely still and quiet. Pretend to be a doll so Elle can keep you with her. Can you do this? It's important." He looked at Zia. "You go tell Da where we're goin', okay? Then come right back here to wait for us." The young Essentic nodded and went past Faolan and out the front door, heading in the direction of Keagan's vardo.
"Come on, lass, we'll have to go talk to the roustabouts to borrow one of their vehicles. Don't think a horse would be too good right about now," Faolan said, ushering his wife out and shutting the door behind them. He lead her across the carnival grounds in silence, not sure what to say now. Feeling like s**t would be an understatement for the man. He knew this was his fault, even if he'd been careful about handling the cat and cleaning up after it. Hell, he'd volunteered to be the one in charge of Rags to keep Elle from having to deal with it, and then managed to get her and the babies sick. The guilt and anger at himself was evident in his expression as the crossed to where the roustabouts normally stayed.

Rhian nodded once when Faolan asked her, said a very quiet, "Yes, I promise," then went completely still, letting her owner-mother hug her as much as she needed. Anything to stay with Ellandra when she needed her. Anything.
Ellandra huddled close to Faolan as they walked, her thoughts spinning wildly through her mind, tumbling, reeling, going every which way. For a long time, she said nothing, just held onto Rhian in silence, cuddling the proto to her in an attempt to stay calm enough to function. At long last, she did speak, though she didn't say much at all. "Faolan... I'm scared."

"Me, too," Faolan said, voice sounding strained. He walked up to the nearest roustabout. Assa, Georgie! I need to use your truck. Small family emergency and the wife needs to get to the doctor."
The man nodded and fished some keys out of his pocket, handing them over to Fao. "Everything okay?"
Faolan just shrugged, having no answer to that. "I'll have it back as soon as I can." He hustled Elle over to a beat up, nearly ancient pickup truck and opened the passenger door, helping her in. Satisfied she was alright, he shut the door and headed around to get in on the driver's side. After buckling up, he put the car in drive and headed for the entrance of the carnival grounds, remembering where the nearest hospital was in this district.
