"I know!" Leena said, almost demanding rather that suggesting. Oh, she hoped she wasn't being too pushy! "We... could both pray for him, yes? I'm sure that the Goddess will have mercy on him if we only speak to her. Now, when it's quiet here... we should... so then Ashera can hear our voices..."

Hatmon pulled herself up into more of a sitting position once Ganon had come over and Ed no longer required her services as a pillow. Have to admit, being a house pet wouldn’t be so bad. She idly amused herself with the thought of sleeping most of the day and always having people around to pet her as she tilted her head to the side. Curious conversation the two were having, though it wasn’t helping to give Hatmon the answers she wanted. All things in due time though she mused as she purred lightly, while rubbing one of her large ears with a black paw.

Perhaps it was on some strange cue, that Ed suddenly looked like she had lost a few years off her face, not to mention her body. Eh, suppose that’s not something I see everyday. The chimera stood up as she circled around the two before plopping back down a bit closer to the two so that she could better observer the both of them. What ever had just happened, Hatmon was just as puzzled as Ed was about the matter. Sniffing the air around the girl didn’t even provide the answers she so desired.

Certainly seemed like some new mystery was curious workings was afoot. It just gave her all the more reason for the ancient girl to stick around. Hatmon’s petite wings fluttered slightly before settling back down against her back, as if they required stretching. “Perhaps, some kind of anti-aging thing is at work? Shame that I'm not a cat, or we could blame this on luck. Sure is interesting either way,” Hatmon said; a toothy grin plastered on her face.

Aran was also wondering if Annis came from Tellius or not but he figured she did. Besides, what other continents had Laguz in them?

"I'm doing good for now." Although, I have a feeling that I won't be feeling good at all in sometime. He left that bit out, no time for negativity.

Clang had spotted Adele the first time she jumped up, and he was over the barricade in a second. He had a good memory for faces, and she was still on the Wanted list from October. The Hero was fast, and not fazed in the least by blood, which is good because he had to dash through a minefield of corpses as he chased Adele down. He caught up quickly and called, "Oy, yeh quit yer stampin'! Yer under 'rest!" He darted down a side street and jumped a high fence, then shot out in front of Adele, sword not yet drawn.

Some little part of him really hoped she'd resist arrest.

Magnet smiled. "You're welcome to stay here, of course, Leena. We will... both keep Leon in our prayers."

Ganon gently released Ed and sat back, glancing at the little fox-thing. "She's cute," he murmured, wagging his tail a bit. "You collapsed... and I guess a Watchman found you, hon. Are you okay, Ed?" He seemed concerned-- she was acting like the Ed he knew from ages past which... didn't make much sense considering she'd aged seven years since then, and had gone through an important period of development.

And apparently someone had tattooed her with magic runes.

At the little fox-thing's comment, he simply blinked and turned to look at her. His tongue flickered out and the familiar voice matched itself with familiar scent, causing things to become clear. "Aha. Hatmon... I knew I knew that tail from somewhere," he teased, reaching down to scritch between the little creature's ears. "You have yet to cease to amaze me, it seems. I suspect you are one of those who never will."

Large raised a brow, taking another puff off his cigarette, and offered it to Annis. "Here, this'll help." He grinned, blowing smoke out at her, then pulled the little rollie back and took another puff off it. "We got a fire over there, see? Those nice seamstresses who work outta the house, end of the street are making stew for us."

Annis rose an eyebrow and gave the cigarette a dubious look. "Last time you gave me one of these, I couldn't get rid of the urge to snack for hours," she told him, her voice blithe. She turned the cigarette away from her and folded her arms across her chest, watching him take another puff on his smoking tobacco. "Stew, huh?" Annis questioned. She turned her eyes in this 'over there' direction and spotted the women in question. Her stomach growled again.

"I'll wait 'till other people start eatin', I guess. Try to be nice." Annis cracked her knuckles again. She needed a shower, food... House is somewhere in the barricade, I think... but there's no food there, I can at least shower...

"Wha...hey! What the hell do yeh think you're doin'?" Adele halted in her tracks. "And whaddya think yer doin', talkin' like me? I didn't do nothin', I swear! I was just...lookin' 'round town!"

Clang raised a brow, hand off the hilt of his sword. If he put his hand on his sword, see, before she got her axe out, he wouldn't be allowed to use it. "'S a pretty bloody axe fer a lady takin' a wee li'l stroll, yeah? An' right through a big ol' pile o' dead folks, eh wot? Why don' yeh jus' put tha' down, an' I'll drag yeh on down ta th' nick an' yeh kin stay in a cell t'night 'til we drag yeh off to the court'ouse tomorrow, eh?"

He smirked a bit as he added, "Unless yer resistin' arrest."

"I'm glad you'd all let me stay here. I know I'm not an official member... but... I could never use weapons or staves. I don't have have those talents. I do think my gift an important one, though." Leena smiled towards Magnet gently. Smiling was one of her habits as a salesperson at the front... and although her hands were rough from forging her precious gifts of magic and non-magic alike, her smile never lost its softness and made it quite easy to trust and buy from her. "It's just so nice to know... that you'd let a mere civilian stay here... and that you're trying to help us all... Magnet. That's why I do my job."

"Kekeke...wha? Put down my axe? That's like tellin' the sun not t'shine, or somethin'!" She nodded to seal the deal. "Anyways, it was self-defense, I swear! I was just lookin' 'round, and they was all 'rawr we's gonna kill youse!'" She was weird, but she wasn't stupid. "I mean, youse seen how they are! So I'm-a not goin' with youse to any stupid cell or whatever. But..." A wide grin spread across her face. "I could help yeh keep the peace or whatever!"

((Ohai. Kurai's here. smile If I messed up Needles, take it up with me in the OoE thread, please? surprised ))

Needles hadn't really given a damn about the announcement. Mythical heroes walking the streets? FEF going rogue and attacking said heroes, despite them being old as stone by now even if by some miracle they'd survived all those centuries? Cleaning her fingernails with an arrowhead, she sat atop the roof (Gods be damned, she knew Large hated it when she did that- might be why she did it so often!), her dark boots hanging languidly over the edge as she looked down on Large's head as he talked to some raven lass. It wasn't any of her business.

She thought to look away, find something a lot more interesting than him or that girl he was with. It couldn't be hard, there wasn't much to be seen just looking straight down from above and all--

...Was that a bald spot?

Upon closer scrutiny, the blonde archeress looked down from her perch with a newfound interest, pushing her black headband up slightly and focusing her sharp orange eyes upon his form. Yup, there was no mistaking it- there was a bald spot. Nothing too noticeable- she doubted even he knew about it. But still, she could throw that at his face the next time his cockney attitude irritated her. The gods only know he did that enough, the poor-born b*****d.

Large was muttering with a few others whose names she didn't particularly care to remember, leaving her staring at them for a quick moment before looking to the mattresses they stacked- it'd make for a nice landing. Yes, it'd do.

Deciding to get the jump on him for once, the archer jumped from the roof, landing squarely on the mattress before using its spring to vault gracefully onto the ground.

Showoff? Maybe. Either way, it didn't stop her from pointing rather rudely, straight at Annis's chest. Good birth be damned, she didn't particularly care for etiquette when barricades were bypassed, whether the threat was real or not. Trespassing just rubbed her the wrong way, and she really didn't feel like dealing with rioters.

"Hey, Large. Who's the bird?"

Annis the Raven

PostPosted: Tue Jun 16, 2009 8:50 pm

Annis brushed a flaking piece of blood off of her bare knee, turning her eyes around idly. She folded her arms over her front, leaned back, and looked up right as a blonde woman on the nearby roof leaped down. Annis stayed silent, letting the woman's arrival surprise Large (or not, depending on whether or not he had known she was there to begin with, you never could tell with him).

Annis' eyes trailed down to where Blondie pointed. Her chest? She felt the slight pink color come to her face as she adjusted her arms to cover the generous curves there. "If you're really that curious, they're real, stop pointing, would you?" Annis questioned, feeling the color darken just slightly.

"And the raven is Annis, if you'd like to be so polite as to tell me who you are." Annis smiled just a little, then flipped her hair out of her face with a quick jerk of her head. She looked to Large, then back to Blondie. "If you'd been down here instead of hanging out on the rooftop like some sort of bizarre parody of a superhero, then you might've heard the introduction to him," Annis clarified, jerking a thumb in Aran's direction to clarify. "Nice bow, by the way. Mind not pointing that at me? Arrows make me nervous, if it's not kind of obvious by now due to the, y'know, I-have-wings thing."

Clang smirked. "Yeh, y'keep the peace in th'nice, safe custody o' Cap'n Ghis, why don'cha? Got a whole cell full o' peace fer ya ta keep." He moved closer, his armor clanking a bit as he walked, still keeping his hand off his sword. It hovered near the hilt, but never actually touched it.

Magnet smiled, nodding, and glanced back at the back room. "You can go along to the mess, if you like. It's through that door, and it's the room the right. I think Constable Javert and Captain Ghis are back there, and Constable Charice should be back in shortly." He turned back to his desk with a sigh and turned over the page to read the next report on the riot.

Large had been about to say something when he turned sharply, hands slipping under his cloak to his knives before he recognized the sniper. "... Needles," he chuckled after a moment, shaking his head. "Relax. She's a drinking buddy of mine." Needles always served as a suitable distraction for Large, who pushed off his box and walked over with a swagger that suggested he was about ten feet tall rather than a bit under five. "She ain't riotin', she was just bringin' an injured friend back here. So were you up there actually gathering information, or just sittin' up there 'cause you like lookin' down on everybody?" He smirked a smarmy little smirk, shifting his cloak a bit.

"Ah, I see. Well, it was nice talking to you again, Magnet... I just wish that a certain someone was here..." Leena nodded, and made her way to the mess hall. That's another thing she'd forgotten to do while working so hard on her shipment! She'd skipped at least one meal... maybe two? Hard to remember, as all the days kinda meshed together. Either way, at least they had materials here to keep her busy. And this was the first place the vendor would also find out more about Leon...

It had been days now since she heard of his apparent 'desertion.' She wondered where he really was, and how he was doing... until her stomach growled ferociously. Her thoughts shifted instead to what was on the menu.

Needles's eyes showed her surprise at the spark of defiance and sarcasm that came out of the raven- she herself wasn't all that well-endowed, so she understood the girl's initial defensive reaction, but to have her snap back afterward? That was quite the surprise. However, she didn't take it as being all that amusing- it grated her a bit. Who was a part of the Watch here- a sniper that knew what the hell she was doing and actually belonged to the town, or some mongrel bird that had decided to drop in on what was now (very clearly) the wrong side of the barricade? Recovering from the shock, the blonde let her eyes narrow dangerously and moved her hand back to the quiver that was strapped onto her back.

"Needles is the name. Prime sniper of the Castle Guard, shooting down little fledgelings like yourself on a daily basis. Pleasure, Annis." The sniper smiled at her in a mockingly sweet manner, making sure that her taunting attitude seeped into every damn syllable. Two could play at the snarky attitude game. Grabbing an arrow out of the quiver and twirling it nonchalantly in her fingertips, she made sure to keep moving the arrow towards the bow, as if threatening to use it if the girl kept mouthing off to her. But surely she wasn't that stupid?

"Oh, I know the bow's nice. And it just loves your kind so much, it'd be almost sad to deprive it of the sight of your wings, eh?" At that point, she was content with turning to Large, her eyes rolling almost into the back of her head at his half-assed explanation.

"Everyone's your goddamn drinking buddy. I'm keeping my eye out for them rebels--" She muttered a quick curse. Figured that his cockney accent would get to her, sooner or later! Flipping her hair while she composed herself, she continued, her voice failing to disguise the amount of amusement she had at his words.

"Checking out the rebels never hurt. Had quite the gorgeous rogue in the audience. Almost considered letting him over for a bit of quality talk and an ale." Letting her line of joking stop, she switched to a more serious tone of voice as she spoke. "Heard we got a new captain. Another blonde lass, but the damn most violent woman, from what I'm hearing."

Annis smiled just a little wider, not allowing her pleasant expression to be betrayed by the cold chill that slipped down the back of her neck as Blondie decided to twirl one of her arrows like it was a ******** baton. Her hands kept moving closer and closer to that stupid bow, then away, then back again. Which was it? Make up your damn mind, woman!

"If you can catch them, that is," Annis told her with a nonchalant laugh. She resisted the urge to go back to cleaning under her fingernails and simply stared straight at her. As if to taunt her, she sat up straight as she stretched her arms over her head again, inhaling deeply as she flared her ebony wings out wide. "And I'll have you know Large and I actually go farther back than just tossing back beers at a bar, thanks," Annis added. She grinned at her slip; maybe it was just her own way of speaking, but she never really minded when a word or two of his slipped into her own speech. Did it really bother Blondie so much?

Annis sighed, stood up. "Well, I'm going to head out. Food sounds great n' all, but I'm kind of in desperate need of new clothes after getting Ganon over here for that Elixir." She patted Large on the head and grinned at him, tugging his hood far over his head with one hand. "Nice meetin' ya, Blondie," she added. Annis gave a mighty flap of her wings, pushed off of the ground, and was soaring in an instant, headed deeper in the barricade towards home.
