Kiji snickers at the expression on K'tinka, but quickly catches up with Amoret. He stops suddenly when Amoret's voice becomes low and she crouches. All he does is widen his eyes a bit, looking confused, at her- it takes him a second, but he finally looks from Amoret to the parrot and then mimics her by crouching.

With a michevious look in his blue eyes and his tail swishing behind him madly, it's obvious he's treating this more like a game than a lesson.

Ooooh! It's so exciting to be hunting for the first time- it's a lot better than starving, that's for sure. He wriggles excitedly as he watches the parrot, which is luckily perched quite low. Despite Amoret's coaching, when he pounces he squeals delightedly and lands short of the bird- two things that cause the bird to fly away.

Kijibwa, however, is not disappointed but excited. After he calms down from the thrill of scaring a bird he realizes he didn't hunt right- if he had, he'd have the bird to eat. His ears flatten and he looks at Amoret..

He brightens when Amoret continues to be encouraging despite his failure, becoming more determined to get it right next time. Cheery once again he follows along after her.

"'nother parrot?" he asks quietly.

As soon as Amoret comes to a stop Kiji skids and crouches. With another mischevious smile, he slowly sneaks in the direction the rustling had come from- another low spot in some leaves.

With another wiggle but without the squeal, he pounces- this time only falling a couple steps short of the target and realizing it quick enough to stumble forward. The lizard attempts to evade, and it only successful because it goes around the trunk of a tree and Kiji doesn't.

Despite going head first into a tree the cub doesn't seem hurt, it clearly wasn't a hard bump into it. He scowls in the direction the lizard went and looks back at Amoret, "Tree in th' way."

"Try again," he repeats after Amoret, and glances in the direction indicated- if there are more lizards, he will try again. And he'll actually catch one this time! He crouches down and inches his way around looking for a new lizard to catch.

His tail sways and his eyes narrow when he sees one, he keeps inching closer until he figures he can reach it if he pounces. With a great swish of his tail and a leap, he lands with his front paws right on top of the lizard. His claws extend as he tries to keep it there, succeeding mostly- though he has to keep moving so it doesn't escae entirely.

"Lizard!" he announces.

Kiji puffs proudly at Amoret's pleased tone, still holding the lizard beneath his claws. He looks down at his paws thoughtfully when she gives him the option of eating it or letting it go- he isn't very hungry anymore, she'd gotten food for him already.

Maybe he can give her food?

"Amoret," he says, pushing the lizard toward her still being careful not to let it go.

Kiji stays puffed up proudly until she tells him that it's not good to kill when you aren't hungry and sets his gift to her free. He sighs, but she did say thank you so he brightens up again.

"Kay," he says agreeably and tries to bat at Amoret playfully.
