"My... apologies for not noticing you, raven of Kilvas." Sue said while turning to Annis. "My back was to you... as for Miss Ninian, she's able to sense oncoming danger. I thought if we went up this road to the manor, we could definitely find the source of it."

When his conversations with the others had ended, Valter just stared off into oblivion, just allowing random thoughts to float into his head. Hardly three minutes had passed when he was startled out of his thoughts by a strange new face. The raven girl's seemingly sudden appearance made the wyvern knight jump, but quickly regained his composure. "Who are you?!" He asked quickly, voice slightly faster than usual.

Roy turned his attention to the raven, who had just appeared. Well, actually, she was there for a while, but her attention was directed towards Sue, and he had his hands full with everyone suddenly talking and greeting him and Ninian and then there was Ninian's ability to sense danger and...there was too much.
"If there was anything we could do, it would have already been done. She has an ability to sense oncoming danger, but it causes some headaches when she senses it. That's why she's like this. I doubt you would be the 'danger' though...so it's probably at where ever out merry little group decides to go to..." he replied to Annis.
He then turned his attention to Canas, who had just greeted him. A finger went up to his lower lip, racking his memory a bit. He then recalled seeing a picture of this man with his father in the library. He smiled gently.
"Sir Canas...I only know you by name and appearance. But I believe you. It's finally a pleasure to meet you." he said with a grin.

Ninian smiled at Roy, just a small smile but a smile nonetheless, the phrase 'I'm so glad you're alive' coming to mind. At first, she had wanted to avoid the man who was her son because he reminded her of his father, but now . . . now she realized how foolish that idea was. Roy had done nothing wrong, and Ninian knew that he would keep his word.
"If something does happen, don't leave my side Ninian. I'll protect you."
Don't leave my side. . . . So many ages ago, Eliwood had said those very same words to her.
"I know you will," she whispered.
The deliberation continued with no one seeming to know what was going on. Hearing her name mentioned, she focused on the conversation.
"It's true," she cut in as a laguz she didn't know spoke of her. "I have the ability to sense impending danger, but I don't have the power to do anything about it. Unlike my brother Nils, my power causes me both physical and emotional pain, resulting in headaches that get worse depending on how bad the danger is. I'll be alright, really."
"Lady Ninian..." Canas said, catching her attention as he bowed elegantly. "I trust that you are doing well with Lord Eliwood? Yes?"
She forced herself to ignore the stabbing pain that came with Eliwood's name, doing her best not to let it show on her face. "I . . . I was, yes, before I came here," she managed, hoping the sudden wave of panic hadn't shown in her eyes.
And then--WHAM. Someone may as well have dropped FEFGA's house on her, her headache was suddenly that bad. She froze, unable to hear what Roy was saying.
What--?
The last time she'd felt like this, the sword called Durandal had been pointed at her. Just as suddenly as it had come, the pain vanished. She straightened, a combination of the dull throbbing and many sleepless nights blurring her vision.
"Something . . . something's coming!" she cried, panic coloring her voice. "Something bad!"
No . . . not again. . . . Haven't we gone through enough?

Crunch crunch crunch...
The strong of hearing could have made out the sound of leaves and twigs crunching in the forest off to the left of the road. One with particularly strong sight might make out figures moving between the trees.
The good at living might dodge a poisoned arrow as a morph archer let one fly straight at Valter from the safety of the forest. Out in the gloom, a small group of morph scouts slunk around in the shadows-- mages, mercenaries, fighters, archers, and everything else, a full mix taking cover in the trees.
They had orders to kill.

Leon was ready to take down the threat that he was given a message about! He had his poleaxe, his javelin, an elixir strapped to his belt, his cape in the right position, and his little notebook to keep record of his tactics... not like he was tactical, so more like his victory. Just one Druid. He could take them.
The problem was... he was a long way from FEFGA's house, and he'd just sent yet another messenger to Leena to send his steed, Anri his way. Oh well, not that a little walk would hurt. Besides, he was secretly patrolling the streets while on his way to the suspicious call. Up ahead, there was a crowd of sorts gathering... "What're they doin'?" he asked no one. He was too far away to be noticed yet.
However... he did see something they probably didn't. A shadow moved...
~~~~~~~
Further up ahead, Sue could definitely feel something on its way there. She couldn't fight the instincts she had, and gripped her Killing Edge she carried rather tightly and never let go. There was darkness on its way, more darkness. It wasn't strong, but numerous.
~~~~~~~
Leena looked up when a messenger dropped her off a letter in the Watch's Recordkeeper stationary. She knew that it could only be one person. "Leon." She muttered as she looked at the message, asking her to release Anri to find him immediately. He was outside Fefgas, don't come. "He's gonna be in danger again..." she muttered.
She looked into Anri's eyes and patted the steed's nose. "You take care of Leon, Anri. I know you will."
Feeding the horse a sugar cube, the Jewelry vendor released the horse. "Go find your master now." She told him.
With a cheerful whinny, almost like a "See you later!", Anri took off.

The strong of hearing might also hear a horse galloping at high speed directly towards them. Nino tried her best to control the horse but it was impossible! It wouldn't listen to her!
The horse flew head on into a few morphs, bowling them over and crushing the heads of a few, and Nino flew off into the bushes nearby.
"AAAAAH!" She screamed. Morphs turned and shot at her, but she got up and ran back towards the group that she had seen, ripping out an elfire tome and deflecting arrows with the magic as fast as she could. "Haaaaaaalp!" She yelled.
She looked back at the hundreds of morphs. Where the heck had they come from? Isadora's horse had run off somewhere and was nowhere to be seen. She spotted Canas. "UNCLE CANAAAS!" She screamed. She ran and took cover behind him. "Morphs! Hundreds of them! Get ready for battle!" She readied herself to use more Elfire.

Uncle Canas Canas Noticed that Ninian was having one of her spells.
Danger Comes...
He saw it. The fight against Nergal all over. The dragon girl Ninian, and the boy Nils, with their power to sense danger. He opened a book that looked extremely old and was titled in an ancient language, "Gespenst". It was the Elder Tome that few had ever mastered, let alone find. He bent down in a defensive manner, bringing his arm up, prepared to give the Incantation at a moments notice.
"Oh how I wish things never came to such measures," He said in a sad tone.
Then He heard Nino's scream.
He bolted forward, to sheild her. An unrenounced desperation filled his eyes as he gave the Incantation.
"Thou, who art darker than twilight, Thou, redder than crimson blood that flows, I invoke the great name of you, buried within the stream of time. Here, I swear an oath and pledge myself to the darkness. To all these fools who stand before us in challenge, let us grant them complete and total annihilation by the power both you and I possess! Gespenst!"
He launched the Spell. Dark lightning fell, and spots in the air began to form. It was as if the air itself bled black in the darkness he had cast upon the Morphs.

Nino stayed close to Canas as she cast her elfire at the approaching morphs. "They're weaker than the ones at Halloween!" She declared between spells. She reminded herself that Canas had not been there for Halloween and she blushed.
"Ninian! Get behind us!" She yelled as she noticed the dancer."

"Morphs! Hundreds of them! Get ready for battle!"
Those were all the words Leon needed to draw his poleaxe from his belt, getting ready in his unmounted stance to fight. "Miss, I'm here to help ya! I'm parta the Eyris Watch!" The Lieutenant shouted to Nino over the noise and panic as he stood beside her. "I ain't gonna let anythin' happen to this town's civil'ins... lemme fight beside ya with m'axe 'ere!"
Sue recognized the Watchman... she'd seen him before in her ordeals of Eyris's abandoned parts of town. Didn't the man have a horse before? That didn't matter. He was another ally.
Gripping her killing edge, she stabbed a Morph between the eyes that was just coming out of the bushes. "They're starting to hide themselves... everyone... be careful." the nomad warned. "We might be surrounded."
"Surrounded?" Leon echoed. "It ain't a prob'm for me!" He exclaimed, preparing for a frontal onslaught alongside Nino and Canas.

The danger was getting closer, she could feel it. And then she heard Nino's scream. The mage was riding a horse--is that Lady Isadora's?--and riding badly. An arrow flew towards someone. Nino cried for Canas, frantic.
The druid moved quickly. Ninian could feel the darkness engulfing him, then forming into the spell he was casting. The air rent, screaming in silence as the spell flew towards the trees. Nino followed with her own spell, the spell lighting up the area.
She'd frozen, unable to move until Nino cried out to her. Instinct drilled into her from her days fighting Nergal and the Black Fang, traveling across Elibe in the process, took over. She moved behind Canas and Nino, letting go of Roy's hand and grabbing her scarf. Tossing it, she spun in the most basic of dances, dancing for Nino.

Rejuvenated by Ninian's dance, Nino was able to cast spells twice as fast as before. She gave Ninian a grateful smile. Just like the old days, she thought.
She was more comfortable in battle than she imagined she would be since it had been so long. Maybe it was because she was surrounded by her friends...

Oujay gripped his blade as he had a weird feeling as if an omen has arrived. He moved his eyes as he scanned the area around them. "What was that?" he whispered as he heard noises in the distance. Not just small noises, but a lot of noises coming from many directions
"Something sounds like it's coming our way," he said softly as he turned his body around to look at the other side of the area. The many sounds of footsteps kept on coming closer and closer to them. It kept on getting louder too. This feeling he had so far did not seem right. "If what Roy's mom says is true, then we have to keep our guard up," he thought to himself.
He turned back around as he heard someone yell out a name that was unfamiliar to him. "Morphs?" he asked himself as he heard that. It did not sound good to him. Suddenly one of the druids pulled out a tome and called out the spell. Oujay pulled out his blade and prepared for battle.
Oujay looked in the corner of his eye as he spots another Morph coming out of the bushes right after Sue had just killed one. Oujay pushed off his feet and ran towards the morph before it could do anything. He gripped his sword. He jumped into the air and did a flip as he gripped his blade. The morph stopped to look up as Oujay dived right at him. However, the morph did not have enough time to react and Oujay landed on the Morph with the sword plunged through his neck. Oujay had a calm look as he looked into the eyes of the morph. It fell back and onto the ground as Oujay used his weight to make him fall onto the ground. Oujay used his legs topush himself off the morph and pull his blade out. He flew back into the air and soared as he did another flip back onto the ground.
"I won't let you hurt them," he whispered as he looked at the morph.

Immediately after being suprised by Annis, Valter heard something even more startling. Ninian's warning echoed through his ears, and spun on his heels to see what was happening- and not a moment too soon. The wyvern knight noticed something... a thin, fast moving object; and it was coming straight at him!
Valter's vast experience in the ways of war had honed hiss reflexes to a razor sharp edge, but even he was barely able to react in time to dodge the deadly missile. He felt the arrow move through the air right next to his ear, almost slicing a chunk out of it. If he had reacted a split second later, he would have had an arrow where his eye should have been.
Alarmed, he did a 180 degree turn and started sprinting toward his mount. Before he jumped on, however, he noticed something contrasting the usual blue of Kain's scales... A concerned look crossed the warrior's face, and he leaned in quickly to take a closer look. To his horror, he found an arrow protruding from his wyvern's chest. "Kain!", he roared. "D-damn it! Stay here! I... I'm going to kill them!!" (By this time, Valter had heard Nino's warning)
Valter sprinted off in the direction the arrow had come from, the blood lust more powerful than ever before. Nobody hurt his mount and lived. Nobody. The enraged warrior rushed toward the nearest Morph, thrusting his lance through the unfortunate puppet's skull before it could even blink. Tearing his weapon out of the corpse, he immediately whipped another Morph across the chest with the sharp end of his spear, the force of the impact shattering the wooden shaft. Valter quickly drew his silver lance, readying himself to kill anything else that got in his way.

The air... it's so thick with magic...
He'd heard the rumors. Suddenly, the very motley band of strangers that had arrived earlier that day had dashed off in the direction of the manor. What reason did they have to run off so quickly? This was SUPPOSED to be a festival... well, now Jin knew why. It felt a little difficult walking through the forest, the air dense with expended energy. Some sort of battle had already happened here.
His head turned at a loud "Ninian! Get behind us" coming slightly off to the right. He squinted his eyes behind the (once more) black facemask, seeing a small group off in the distance drawing their weapons. One of them was fairly short, with green hair... but who were they fighting?
Most Priests tended to be unable to fight, but Jin wasn't any ordinary Priest. He dropped the staff he was holding, reaching back behind the black cloak over his black robes, pulling out a pair of wickedly sharp stilettos.
He slipped away into the trees. The fallen leaves and twigs made him anything but silent, but in a heavy-duty fight like this, he didn't have to be.
