Rhianodded eagerly, still practicing with the coin trick. "Oh yes, yes please sibling-Zi! I want to learn more, more!"
Though Faolan's accent was still rendering her fairly into mush, his last declaration prompted a grumpy "Mmff," from the brunette, accompanied by a wrinkling of her nose. Resolutely, she started looking around for clothes. . . not that she had any to find at the moment. Lovely.

"I'll need to get a playing deck. Hold on." The alter went to the dresser and fished out a deck of ordinary playing cards with Farstep's logo on the back, then brought them to the table. Shuffling them with one hand, Zia set them down and looked at its sister. "Now, the thing about card tricks is all in directing people where to look. If you're talking to the person you're showing the trick to and making sure to keep them distracted, they won't see what you're really doing and it'll look like magic."
Fao grinned and pulled Elle back against him, licking at her neck. Now that his own mental fuzziness had cleared, he lessened his accent. "Are you sure, love? You always say no, but you might actually enjoy it if you'd just let me."

"Really, really, sibling-Zi? It sounds complicated," the butterfly said, not sounding daunted in the least by the complexity of what she was being asked to do. Instead, she seemed positively thrilled with the fact that she was getting her sibling's attention in a positive manner - something she wasn't used t getting, not all to herself.
Managing to recover herself more as Faolan's accent thinned, Ellandra pouted just a little. "I'm quite sure, thank you! Now help me find clothes, please, since I seem to be .............. out of them at the moment?" She said, raising an eyebrow in a way that clearly stated"and you're still in trouble for that too, mister, don't you forget".

Zia nodded. "It can be complicated, but once you get used to it, it gets easier. Here. Try shuffling the deck. Start with both hands. When you get the hang of it, I'll show you how to do it with one hand." It shuffled the deck with both hands to show Rhian how it was done, then set the deck before her.
Faolan held his hands up, fingers splayed, in surrender, a slight frown gracing his features. "Oi, lass, what are you mad at me for? By all right, I should be the one upset, but you don't see me whingin' on it, eh?" He moved around and stood up, not at all bothered by his lack of clothes, and went to their dresser, fishing out one of Elle's old skirts and one of his t-shirts--the first things he'd put his hands on--and held them out to her. "Put these on, lass, if it'll help."

Rhian nodded, flicking her antennae a bit as she concentrated on trying to imitate Ziazan's actions. This was harder than the coin trick had been though, and she kept messing up. "I'm not very good at this one, sibling-Zi," she said, just a little disheartened but not greatly so as she continued to try.
Elllandra dressed hurriedly - though really, the t-shirt alone might have been enough if she was the type to be comfortable showing more skin than a nun. Sighing, she swept her hair over her shoulders, not trying to put it into any sort of order, and shook her head. "You do nkow i'm just going to have to replace all of that lost clothing, don't you?" She said, a bit of amusement coloring her voice despite herself.

"Here, put the two halves together and run your thumbs down them like this so they overlap," Zia said, showing its sister how to shuffle again. "Then you scoot them together. I'll show you different ways to do that when you get better, but this works for now."
Faolan rested his hands on his hips, watching her. "Aye, and hopefully with clothes more suited to this life here." He turned away to get some jeans out to cover himself up with.

Rhian nodded and tried again, repeating the process until she was doing it reasonably well. "Like this, Sibling-Zi?"
Ellandra bit her lip and sighed, twisting her hair arounds her fingers in a nervous gesture. "I......... I'm sorry, Faolan...."

"Just like that. Keep at it and you'll master it in no time," Zia said, smiling and watching Rhian shuffle.
Faolan looked back at her, fastening his pants. "Sorry for what?"

Rhian flicked her antennae happily, but said nothing, intently focused on what she was trying to do.
Ellandra looked away, sighing and closing her eyes. "For.... annoying you, for reading your journal, for . . .. many things, I suppose."

"Here, now hold them like this to get a wider shuffle," Zia instructed, moving her hands around. "It's basically the same thing, but looks cooler."
Faolan sighed, putting a hand to his face, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Lass, I'm not annoyed. Well, I am, but . . ." He let his hand drop and looked at her. "You seem like you're takin' a lot out on me lately, and I don't know what I've done wrong to make you mad."

Rhian nodded, but was distracted when she flicked her antennae over to the bedroom door and paused in her attempts at shuffling. "They're unhappy again. . . . . can we help soon?"
Ellandra closed her eyes and ducked her head. "It's - it's nothing you've done, Faolan, nothing related to you at all. . . I'm - I'm so sorry. . ." She didn't say anything more, tugging at her hair instead. She couldn't really explain what was bothering her, but she shouldn't take any of her problems out on Faolan. It wasn't fair to him in the least. She paused for a moment to wipe at her eyes and try to hide the tears that were welling up in them.

Zia looked at the door, brow furrowing a bit in thought. "Perhaps we should give them some time." It looked at Rhian. "Can you sense their emotions?"
Faolan watched her, head tilted a bit to the side. "I remember a few days ago how you wanted me to not go shuttin' you out and now you're gonna do that to me? Not a chance. We're in a marriage, girl. We're suppose to be partners in this shared life of ours. How can I help you if you won't let me in?" He walked to her and pulled her into a hug. "Talk to me, please? Breakin' my heart to see you cry and not know what's wrong."

Rhian nodded. "Yes, but I'm not very good at - at picking out what's what, yet, just good and bad, or really really strong ones. . . . I'm better with Ellandra than anyone else but I' trying really hard. Ellandra's feeling all sad and guilty and - and hurt, there's so much hurt there but not from Ellandra-husband.... it's very old and new at the same time, and Ellandra-husband is feeling bad, too, but it's hard for me to tell how, but . . . .umm.... annoyance? Frustration? sadness and worry too, I think..... I'm not as sure with him," she said, trailing off with a shrug as her antennae flicked around wildly.
"Bad emotion everywhere though, unhappiness all over, no positive anywhere in here, none, none." Rhian's antennae were flicking around constantly now, and her wings were fluttering fast enough that the cards she'd stopped shuffling blew out of her hands, and she would have lifted to the ceiling had she not ben anchored to the chair - but this was hardly an excited energy; more a concerned one.
Ellandra bit her lip, snuggling close to Faolan but not daring to look up at him. "I - I'm sorry," she said again, leaning against him and trying not to cry. "It - really it isn't anything you've done at all.... just... my memories keep coming back and - and I remember more now, how I used to be, and then how - how my life was, growing up a-after my mother died. . . I never knew before, but my father tried to - to get every trace of my mother's traits out of me. . . I'm - I'm just having.. a - a hard time coming to - to terms with some of it, that's all.......... I'm so sorry," she said again, repeatedly apologizing as her emotions overtook her.

Zia nodded. "Sometimes I can feel emotions, too, but only when touching someone. Da is . . . he can be hard to read, you know? I think he's too used to trying to pretend nothing bothers him." It reached over and put a hand on Rhian, trying to calm her down.
Faolan let out a soft growly sort of sigh. "For cryin' out . . ." He moved a bit to look down at his wife. Emotions running a bit higher gave way to letting his accent thicken. "You cannae gae t' lettin' a deid man gae dictatin' your life still. Life ain't all beer an' skittles as it be, an' tha's wi nowt lettin' wor deid parents have their say. Th' man be gaen, lass. Same as your dam and mine. If'n he wis tryin' t' erase your dam frae you, then he ******** up. You're more her than him."

Rhian's fluttering picked up in intensity; her wings were just a blur now. "Bad, bad........ I need to help soon! soon~soon!"
Ellandra ducked her head and closed her eyes so that her rising tears weren't visible. "I know that, I do - it's . . . it's just so hard. . everything I thought i knew is - is so twisted now. . . . and - and Faolan. . . I don't know how he - he had my memories sealed but.... they keep coming back and - and it hurts when they do, Faolan, physically hurts........ I - I'm so sorry. . ."
