"Here, mouthspeech is more common than mindspeech. Only a few people use the latter- but there are those who can't understand it as well," Tenryuu warns, though she doubts it will be an issue for this girl. In a way, she may be in a better position than other children who end up here.
It occurs to her that Kaya has much still to learn about this world- but before she can explain, she sees Byou start for the door, and is on her feet instantly, chasing after cat and girl.

Upon hearing Kaya's cry, Rika turns quickly to Autumn and suggests, "Why-don't-you-sit-down-outside," in a hurry, before she quickly moves to shut the door. But to do so she has to unwedge herself from the crack she had it opened, although hopefully Byou isn't so swift to be able to dodge around Rika's legs and squeeze out...

No, Byou isn't quick enough to get around Rika's legs- and therefore runs head-on into them. Skittering and scuffling quite ungracefully, the cat sits for a moment, looking confused, and then turns tail to dash off...
...only to be scooped up by Kaya, who scolds the dragon-cat quietly. She's sorry for Byou's running-about, and is the lady alright? She still has questions- most having to do with what Tenryuu has said about mouthspeech being more common than mindspeech- that can't be true, can it?- but she feels like she should apologize for Byou, first.
Oh. "Yes, of course.." Autumn begins to say, but before she can finish the thought the door quickly closes. Although she knows that the woman had said that they had an animal that they were trying to keep in, Autumn can't help but to feel that she's being shut out..
..Maybe she should just leave. ._.

Rika squeaks herself, but clamps down on the projection of surprise and discomfort she wants to let out.
"... I'm quite all right," she says after a moment, adjusting her monocle and trying to regather her wits. "Is Byou secured?"
Seeing that that is the case, she opens the door again, keeping one eye on Byou as she nods to the human; "Come inside?" she invites.
Then, looking back to Kaya, she explains, "A species called 'humans' live in this place in large numbers. They do not use mindspeak at all. And this..." she nods to Autumn, "... is a human."
... Poor Autumn, being used as a specimen within moments of meeting Rika.

Tenryuu chases after Byou, managing to not crash into Rika in the process, but only by dodging to the side at the last moment. She loses track of the dragon-cat for a moment, relieved to see her being held when she turns back around.
Since Kaya has control of the situation, Tenryuu collects herself. "Should I make the tea," she offers, "while you take care of the guest?" Entertaining is hardly part of Tenryuu's skill set, and while she isn't sure Rika's any better, it's her house.
She nods in response to Rika's explanation. "While some humans can understand mindspeak, even if they cannot use it, others do not understand at all. I don't think that will be a problem for you, but it's still something you should know."
On a whim, Tenryuu projects a private greeting to the newcomer, mostly to see if she can understand it.
