Melanie smiled, shaking his hand. "It's nice to meet you too. I'm Melanie by the way. So have you played long, teach youself and stuff or did you take classes?" She was very interested in wanting to know what he knew about playing the piano, since Melanie loved music herself.

Rider smiled. This was one of the few things he was proud of. he hadnt acomplished much in life but he could say this. "Well it was kinda learn by ear. My mum used to play but when we lost her dad just couldnt get rid of the piano. I would listin to Mums favorit songs carefully and try and match the notes. It was jsut a game was i was small. But i guess you can learn through fun."

Melanie leaned in a bit, interested in what he was saying. "Must have been hard trying to learn by ear, but some people are very good at that." She didn't want to mention it because she didn't know how he would react but she thought it must have been hard watching your mom greive over someone.

Rider shrugged. "I was too young. i dont remember her. But my dad use to tell me amazing stories about her." Rider let out a sigh and his eyes strated to water. He quickly shut his eyes. "But yeah, it was just a game, then i started putting nnotes together and learnt to play."

(oh well it says "her dad" so i thought you meant HER DAD xD)
Melanie looked away from him feeling alittle bad. He looked really upset about this subject and now she wished she didn't bring it up so she tried staying off the subject. "You think you can teach me sometime? To play the piano?" she smiled alittle trying to make him smile back.

Rider opened his eyes and smiled alittle. "Im sure at some point i would be able to yes. through i cant say if i will be a good teacher or not." He said. "Oh, and dont feel bad about brining up my younger years. It really is ok, i dont remeber her well enough to get really upset." he insisted telling that she felt bad.

Melanie looked down, embarrassed to look at him. She never knew what to say to anybody after they brought up something like their mom or dad had died. "It doesn't matter if your good or now I guess, I just want to learn alittle bit." she smiled, mainly at the floor since she still hadn't looked up yet.

Rider laughed alittle, placing a hand little under her chin lifting her head. "You know, it is a shame when an angel hides her beautiful face." He said and smiled at her. He stood up and sat at the piano once more and began to play. The song still had some rythme to dance to but it was deffinatly more romantic.

 James sighed and slumped back against the refreshment table. He wasn't sure what it was about musicians that girls liked so much, I mean it wasn't like they were all going to become rich and famous rock stars, but then again he had never understood music or girls very much. He had tried to learn to play the guitar once but it had ended badly, after hearing him practice "twinkle twinkle little star" in the band room at school a rather large group of girls indicated he was a " baby" and that he should " go back to grade school and start again". But then he was used to this sort of thing, so he let it roll off his shoulders and looked around the boat again. He couldn't help himself from picturing scenes from the movie Titanic, but he knew all about modern commercial freight liners and cruise ships, the odds of it sinking were minimal at best. Heck he was a lot more likely to get in a car crash in the cab on the way over. He settled back and got another glass of punch, looking around the room once more.

Melanie smiled lightly and watched him walk back over to the piano to start playing again. She was still amazed at how he knew such a song so complex that he learned just by hearing. She looked around the room at the other people; some watching him play, some dancing to the sound. Melanie walked over and sat down next to him as he played, and smiled at him.

Samantha was still holding Bridgette. She walked back over after the song was over. She liked the new romantic song that someone was playing, but it just didnt suite her much. She kissed Bridgette lightly on the forehead. She went back to the oh so popular punch area and got a small glass for Bridgette and a glass of champeinge for herself. She sipped her champeinge after she let Bridgette down and Bridgette hid behind her again watching the people and drinking her punch.

Rider smiled When Melanie sat beside him. He finished the song and sat closer to her. "One way to learn is by playing." He put one arm around her and took both her hand placing them on the keys. He pressed down her finger slowly in order to start the next song. "Make sure to move your hands with mine."

Melanie tensed when he pulled her hands to the keys and started playing the next song with her. He had told her to move her hands with his and that's what she did. She felt herself blushing, and all she was thinking about was messing up, trying to press on the keys when he pressed on her fingers.

Rider smiled. He hadnt choose a particularly difficult song but it wasnt exactly easy and it still had the same dance rythme. "You are doing great, just keep going."

Melanie nodded as he spoke again, she also giggled lightly at how she was playing. She loved it and she wished it didn't have to end. Out of the corner of her eye she saw a few people watching but she didn't mind. "This is so cool." she smiled watching her hands and his on the piano.
