She raised an eyebrow, "Er...good luck....?" Palladia looked the other way, finding this to be extremely awkward. She cleared her throat, hoping to ease her nerves, but it made her feel even more awkward, "Well...um." she turned to him, concentrating on the ground in front of him, "Mattie is very affectionate of fruits. She doesn't like to eat her vegetables much." she started to list them, "She absolutely refuses to eat spinach-we're going to have to fix that, carrots are okay with her, as long as there's something sweet to go with it, she hates broccoli as well..." Palladia put her hands together still anxious, "She likes all fruits-especially apples. Plums I think are too sour at this point...but everything besides that Mattie likes." her tone had turned brisk, business-like, "Is there anything else you need to know..." she tapped her chin thinking.

Aubrey smirked playfully before letting out an exaggerated gasp, leaning over and looking at Matilda with wide eyes. "You don't like veggies? But veggies are so yummy! I eat them all the time!"

Mattie frowned, clearly displeased with Aubrey's remark. "Beggies bad!" sticking her tongue out at Aubrey she shook her head, "No beggies! No beggies!" she moved closer to her mother, her eyes still on the male, "Weird." she said pointing at him.
Palladia nodded in agreement, "Weird." she had a small smile on her face, but it wasn't for him.

Aubrey clicked his tongue. "Aww! I'll show you! Some day." His smile softened. He did hope he could show her how yummy a veggie could be. He wanted to show her many yummy things. Her tastes would open as she grew. He'd have to make it just right. "Don't worry. I'll be sure to keep some fruit around for you too. Your mom says you like fruit."

"Chewwies." Mattie said suddenly. Her small ears flicked around, her head slightly tilted. "Chewwies." she said again.
Palladia looked down at Mattie slightly confused, "Cherries? You want cherries?" pulling the child closer to her, she continued, "Do you want to go to the market and buy some?"

Aubrey cocked his head, mind on end again. He would have loved to take Mattie to the market with him since he was already headed there, but... This must be the first step to learning to tough it out. "Well, I was headed to the market already," He said softly, not really looking at either female. "Would you care for an escort?"

Mattie nodded, smiling at her mother, "Chewwies!" she started to brush the small piece of fur against her mother's arm.
"Er..." Palladia looked at Aubrey ignoring Mattie for the moment. Would she have to tough this out? "Um...of course." she said after a deep breath, "You can come with us if you'd like. I'm sure she wouldn't mind." How awkward. She didn't even like this buffoon and they were probably going to go everywhere together just because they had a child. Holding Mattie in her arms, she stood up making sure she didn't have any dirt on her hooves holding the baby tightly. "...I guess we can go now...?"

Aubrey nodded, having every intention to go his sperate way once they reached the market. He closed his bag up and stood, flicking his tail to get rid of dirt before heading onward. No reason for him to stand right next to her... As much as he wanted to hold Matilda the entire way, his desire to stay away from Palladia was nearly as strong. Sensing the female's discomfort made him feel a tiny bit better. "It won't be to long." He said outloud, reassuring himself.

She stayed a good distance away from his as possible, looking straight ahead. Palladia didn't really want to look at him. They were both so against each other that it was practically impossible for them to get along. She walked in silence her head tilted upward slightly, giving off a sense of pride.
Mattie continued to play with the fur, occasionally looking at Aubrey. Why was this man even following them anyways?

Aubrey watched what was in front of him except when he felt himself being watched. He would look over at the child and give her a wave, a smile. True to his words, it wasn't long until they reached the market. They both had to go to the food area, he would just wait until going to the fresh foods aisle. He trotted over to the girls, patting Matilda's head and giving it a quick kiss before backing away again. "This is where we part Matilda. I'll see you later, and I'll be sure to have something yummy ready for you." Then he turned, heading for a random section of the market, intending to take the long way around to the foods.

Palladia wrinkled her nose. She hated going to the market. It was crowded and loud, and sometimes it reeked of garbage and other wastes. But it was the only way she was able to get food to feed herself and Mattie. Glad that Aubrey was leaving, she slowly made her way to the food aisle, looking at the fruits.
Mattie gurgled happily at Aubrey, waving back with the fur in her hand. Staring at him when he patted her head, she was confused. Why did he leave? She immediately forgot about him when she saw the fruits. Mattie pointed at the cherries squealing.
((I guess it ended? o-o))
