Lucien noted the odd girl in front of him as he walked past her. He dusted the sand off his clothing and said hi as he passed her towards the docks. He thought it was odd how he was meeting more and more people. Could it be the act of fate? Or was it a mere coincidence? He wouldn't know unless the gods themselves told them. He took another bite then checked his watch. It was only 10 after 12. There was still some time before 3 o' clock.

Leith almost sighed audibly when the man passed and seemed to not have noticed her reason for laughter. She continued on her way at a much more normal jog on the sand. She was dismayed to find more people out in the water a litte ways out, but then changed her mind when she recognized the boat to be of the same make as the ones from her islands. She saw to figures on the boat and calculated her next move. She lowered herself closer to the sand and darted for a piece of driftwood where she sank to her belly and watched.

"Get up here. I will see what I can do about your injuries!" The man called out to him from his boat. Mike was still jogging his way back to the tiny ship, until he heard a sound he hadn't heard in a long time. He thought he heard laughter. It wasn't the laughter of someone's demise or entertainment. It was a carefree, childlike laugh. But as soon as he heard it and stopped, it was gone. Now his ears were playing tricks. He really had hit his head hard. Mike searched for the sound for a moment longer, and, hearing nothing, continued to walk to the ship.
This guy who was going to kill him (sooner or later, he thought) didn't seem like he'd be a medicine man. Not in the least. He seemed way too brutish for that. The sword at his side helped. Mike hopped up into the boat, using the help of his good arm, his right arm. Looking down at his sore, left one, he noticed how swollen and puffy and dark it had gotten. Definitely broken. Just his luck. Mike stood at attention in front of the shaman-warrior-whatever-he-was. He wasn't really comfortable with the fact that he was a male doctor. Doctors touched people. With cold hands. Everywhere. Mike twitched a little. 'If this guy is gonna help patch me up, so be it,' he thought. 'Bring it on.'

Warakai took a hold of the thief's arm inspecting it a little roughly for breaks it wasn't to bad but it was still broken. He reached into the chest and pulled out a small brownish leaf which he handed to the thief "Chew this it should help the pain" he said not letting him know that he was going to have to reset the bone before he could splint it.

Mike flinched when the man's hand wrapped around his arm. Pain tingled through his arm, into his chest, and down to his toes. "Ow ow ow ow ow ow..." Mike grimaced. Then the man gave him instructions to chew a leaf, which he held out in his hand for Mike. He hesitated a small moment. 'Its a suicide leaf.' Mike squinted at the herb, then took it from the doctor with his good hand. After examining it for a brief moment, he downed it. Eyes watering, Mike couldn't believe how sour this was. He had almost gagged. One, because it tasted bad, and second, because he swallowed it whole. Mike clamped his eyes shut for a moment, then opened them, slightly relieved and waiting for the pain killing (or dying) to begin.

Lucien looked across towards the horizon as he finished off the bun. It was a dark and often foreboding night. He sat on the pier for only 2 minutes, then went back to the boat to assist Warakai. He still noticed the girl watching. "If you would like to know what they're doing you could ask." he whispered behind her.

Warakai tried to look as nonthreatening as possible as he took a hold of the thief's arm and with a tug and a push forced the break back together he quickly applied a splint and bound it tight before he had a chance to yank his arm away "There you go, all better" he said with an especially broad smile.

Mike didn't expect this. Without warning, the shaman tugged on his arm, applied pressure, and snapped his arm back together. Mike let out a very shocked, and very pained yell that seemed to echo through the beach. It only lasted a second, but all the pain sent his head spinning, and punched the air from his lungs. The shaman rapidly applied the splint and wrapped it faster than Mike could keep up with. Wheezing and yanking his arm back, he could feel his arm pulse and burn. Mike let out one last gagged cry as he held his own arm. Hot tears splattered on the ship's wooden bottom. Mike breathed in and out rapidly, then slowly started taking deeper and deeper breaths.
"There you go, all better," the healer said, a huge smile stretching across his face. He seemed awfully proud of himself. Mike was impressed, but dazed and hurting. He looked up at his healer with wide, blue eyes. Mike squeaked, "That was amazing!" then, half chuckling, he added, "And incredibly painful." Mike thought maybe this guy was an ally now, somehow. One, he didn't kill him, second, he gave him supposed medicine, and third, he fixed his arm. Mike lowered his head. He had tried to steal this man's boat without a second thought, and now he was helping Mike. He was in this man's debt now. He didn't know how long he'd be in this man's debt, but that didn't matter now. He had to repay this man somehow. "Uh-uhm... Listen," Mike stuttered. "I... I... uhm..." Mike was too ashamed to look at his healer, but he finally spat it out, glancing at the man once in the eyes. "Thank you. I uh... I appreciate it."

Leith cried out in shock, fear, and utter disbelief. How had he snuck up on her. She stared up at him with wide eyes as she breathed hard and tried to calm her heart. She knew her scream was loud enough for the others at the boat to hear her so she let her blonde head peep above the driftwood as she sat up more. She pulled herself away from the stranger and put her hand on the hilt of her blade. "How did you get so close to me?" She didn't care if it sounded odd; she wanted to know.

Warakai laughed a little passing him a handful of those brownish leaves "Chew them this time" Warakai said "they start working pretty quickly and should dull the pain for an hour or so" he said standing up straight. "So what hell drove you try and steal a Sarrakon ship anyway?" He asked.

Lucien could only laugh. "When you've lived in a place where everyone's trying to kill you, you learn quickly." Then he gave an apologetic bow. "My apologies for sneaking up on you, but you seemed into it." He dusted some more sand off of his pants. "This is what I get for living in a hellhole such as this..." he sighed , starting his walk back down to the boat.

Mike looked sheepishly at the healer, taking more bitter brown herbs and stuffing them in his pocket, a few, disdainfully, in his mouth. He didn't like pain.
"So what hell drove you try and steal a Sarrakon ship anyway?" He asked Mike. Mike furrowed his eyebrows. 'Sarrakon? Is that where he's from?' "W-well, the truth is... I... I wanted out. And I also didn't want to pay to get a boat ride or deal with guards. Them and their taxes and all..." He stopped, then said, "Look, I'm real sorry about the whole boat-stealing thing..." 'Only because I got caught' "...I don't deserve your hospitality, man. I deserve to have the living tar beat out of me and--"
All of a sudden, a cry broke out. Mike jerked his head in the direction he thought it came from. The south, where the docks and guards were stationed, but it seemed closer than that... He furrowed his eyebrows. 'Is someone in trouble?' Mike wouldn't normally help someone from this city bu,t because of certain circumstances, he felt a little more merciful and glad he was alive. Besides, no one hardly came down to the beach and stayed for long unless it was a guard or droid. Droids and guards didn't have shrill screams.

Leith stared at the guy for a minute as he started to walk away, towards the boat, and then stood quickly and ran after him. What are you, friggin' crazy, Lee? You're just asking for Death to come and swoop you away!" She thought to herself, but ignored it as she kept her gaurd high and her distance. She scrutinized the boat and people she was approaching. One had an arm in a splint, she faintly remembered the scream just before her own. She advanced slowly, her body moving as fluidly as any stream.

Mike saw, in the horizon, two personages. His night blindness wasn't helping and he couldn't see their features very well. Or at all. As they came closer, Mike could see that one was male, and the other, close behind, was female. A very pretty female.
She must have been the source of the scream earlier, and this man must have scared her. Or maybe she stepped in the ocean and it was too cold. Or maybe she was screaming because she needed someone to hold her and-- Mike shut his eyes a moment, then opened them. Now the couple were right at the boat, gazing up at him and the shaman.
Mike flashed a quick smile and lifted his hand as a greeting. "Hey."

Warakai saw the new stranger and his eyes lit up, her clothes her facial features even the way she walked "An islander" he said jumping from his boat he dashed across the sand to greet her he raced past Lucien and slid to a stop in the sand in front of her finding himself suddenly without anything to say.
