ke-chan I was ok with Raito till l died ... But now i don't care any more... I'm making a AMV on the memory of L ^^ I'm going to animate alot of stuff to music it's going to be great! anyway :3 L isn't for sure gone there is still fan-fiction.. and maybe he'll come back to haunt Raito Aah, you have to show us this AMV once you're done! i'd love to see that~!

yeah, yeah, i've only been part of this guild for like, two days? maybe three, but when you all go into little side RP-ish-things..it's very entertaining..! XD
err, on an on-topic note, i guess, well..L's death..didn't really..phase me..much.. neutral i guess because [a]an annoying voice in the back of my head said it's gonna have to happen eventually, i was spoiled for it, and [c]i first encountered L's death in volume seven at Otakon, BEFORE i was reading translations, aka, I WAS SO ENTHRALLED BY THE BRILLIANT ARTWORKS AND INTRIGUING CHARACTER DESIGNS I BOUGHT SEVEN VOLUMES OF BOOKS I COULDN'T READ PAST THE CHARACTER AND THE 'HOW TO USE' PAGES. D: [but it's all good 'cause after i found translations i realized the neccessity of that fandom, obviously..] note that though i couldn't read it, i'd read general summaries here and there and soaked in anything fans said. so i knew the BASIC plotline and who did what..plus just inferring from the images..anyway..topic!
as i "read" volume seven, after L's death, the next chapters were mello and near; so pretty much mello and near distracted me from L's death because I was all "HOMG NEW PEOPLE!!" and "THIS ONE LIKES CHOCOLATE!!" <--i specifically remember freaking out about that to Luminae, who has NO INTEREST in death note, just as i have NO INTEREST in *her* main fandom, Naruto... *cough* anyway..M and N lessened the sadness impact of L's death..i don't think i even blinked when he died..o_o err, it's hard to explain? i've sort of always been both a raito AND an L fan, just seeing how they "battled it out" and stuff, trying get the other to break down and..and..stuff. plus, not being able to read it beforehand, i hadn't set solidly behind any one character..
but i definitely agree with what was said earlier, by the Misstress, i think it was..? that the true sadness of L is that people stop reading after he died..v_v Of the people i've gotten to read DN, they BOTH stopped after L's death..DX the one said it was "getting boring" and the other, my dumbass homophobic brother [sometimes i laugh about that, like 'ahhh, the irony' but it's really just GODDAMN ANNOYING that he's so friggin' blind and offends me with every other word out of his mouth anymore..>|...uhm..o_o;;] yeah, he claims he stopped reading on the grounds that "mello's a f*****t." DX ...*cough* and because L died.
i dunno but it's REALLY annoying when you come across fans who burst into tears at the mention of the alphabet anymore! [no offense to anyone meant..but..] i have a friend like that who slaps me if i even hint "L's death" or say something like "after L died"..DX i love her to death but it's rather annoying, and makes it harder to hold a number of DN-related discussions..
...and THAT was a lot longer than it should have been. D: sorry! sweatdrop

Finding someone who didnt cry and go nuts over L dying must be something very rare. Fans who stop reading just because of L arent really fans at all. *wants to slap them all* It really does make me angry.
You should smack your friend back and knock some sense into her~! One day she will realize that Near is so much hotter and cooler than L~!

Oh and the longness is fine <3 Nice to see some long stuff like that hehe.
As for your other friend saying it was boring... I've never seen it as really boring, if I did that would just be because of having to wait a week between each chapter.
Oh and yeah, Mello and Near softened the blow for me when L died too. The only problem with that would be that I was current when it happened-- and that means I had to wait several weeks for them and all.
