Lanakirene watched others laying their cards down, and nodded appreciatively at Wei's cards. It had been a good hand, and she didn't feel so bad for folding so immediately now. Keeping an eye on the other hands, she reached up to run a hand through her hair and checked herself midway, eventually settling on smoothing her kerchief instead. Some old habits died hard, and La had a tendency to play with her hair when she was thinking about something. Leaning her elbows on the table again, she leaned her cheek on one hand and waited calmly for the next hand to be dealt.
When she received her new cards, her expression remained carefully blank, although instead of just one eyebrow, both rose this time. Fanning them out briefly, she selected two and slid them across the table. The remaining three she piled carefully back on top of each other and set facedown before she anted up. Steepling her fingers together, she watched the rest of the table over them with that same mild interest. Firyal's expressions fascinated her; she honestly couldn't tell what the girl was playing at. Wei's mannerisms interested her as well, but she said nothing, merely regarded everyone like she was waiting for the next fun thing to happen. She was.
The new cards came soon enough, and La took them up quickly. When she looked at them, she smiled slightly and then set them down atop the rest of her pile. Glancing at Wei, she gave the woman a friendly nod, and proceeded to direct cheerful attention at the rest of the players, as well. She would not be folding this time around.

T'ka was hardly bothered that she hadn't won. After all, it was just one round, wasn't it? Leaning back in her chair, she drummed her fingers on her knee. Hopefully Xythe and Daeok weren't getting into too much trouble without supervision. Haanyath too. Good for the girl who won. Even if it was luck...
She looked over her new hand. Not bad, but it could be better. She pressed two cards down to try for better. Nothing wrong with that. Hopefully she would do better.

[[ OOC: Anyone who isn't Arri or Gift should have 7, not 8, points. Arri has a lot because she won and Gift has 8 because she folded before the betting round. (10 - 1 (ante 1st round) - 1 (bet 1st round) - 1 (ante 2nd round) = 7) ]]
Apparently, C'ren was not going to earn his keep tonight. With a great sigh, the greenrider doled out the cards himself once Wei was declared the winner of the first round. F'sey counted and made his tally. Winning the first hand was important, but that didn't mean she wouldn't blow it.
This time, the game went much quicker, his players deciding what to discard much more quickly than last. F'sey didn't mind, the sooner he finished up here, the sooner he could go out and find something to eat...and his sharding flits. And as if on que, one of those sharding flits waltzed right in, popping in above his head and settling on top of his shoulders.
"Song," F'sey said by way of greeting, idly wondering where the bronze had been. He was immediately confronted with images of food and people he couldn't really recognize and he realized the little lizard had been off begging. No wonder he was settling so quietly.
Shaking his head, he turned to the players. "Bets. One more to discard and bet, and then you lot can show your hands."

Taking her hand very seriously, Wei flicked her gaze from person to person around the table. It was hard to be sure, but...
She tossed in her ante for the coming round - along with an extra piece. "Ante and raise." The game was poker, after all; what was the point in playing, if you weren't willing to pump up the pot every now and again? And being that she could afford it much more easily than the rest of the players, she might as well be the one to start the real competition!

La looked thoughtfully at Wei as she raised. Now she was struck with a bit of a quandry. Looking unsure of herself for a moment, she tapped the back of her cards thoughtfully before giving a brief, decisive nod and putting in two pieces. "I'll see your bet," she said slowly, and then hesitated.
"And raise," she continued, adding a third piece and smiling.

Glancing at her hand, and weighing the value of sticking it out against keeping her points, Vera put her cards flat on the table. "I fold." Ordinarily the Harper would've played fast and loose with her hand, but not today. The prize was far too sweet to tempt fate with a foolish move. Leaning back in her chair comfortably, she surveyed her competitors with faint curiosity. She was willing to bet that one of the women who had raised the bet had a good hand, and that the other was simply being cocky. It would be interesting to see if her guess was correct.

Firyal, too, felt that the stakes were becoming a little too dear, and her hand wasn't one she would consider a winning hand. So she lay her hand facedown on the table and murmured, "I fold, too." She couldn't stay too much longer. It wasn't fair for her to keep E'rik waiting while she spent her afternoon avoiding the crowds by gambling.

Shells, what did she have to lose? T'ka pushed in her bet with a smile. Why no? It was fun. "I'm in," she smiled, voice low. This was just a game. And it was fun. She would entertain these others with her money. It didn't mean much to her.

Conomor gave a slight shake of his head; no way his cards were good enough to go for it. "Fold," he said placing his cards down on the table, and leaning back in his chair a little to observe the other players. It had been too long since he'd last played this game, but at least he didn't seem to be the only amateur here. {7pts}

Ren licked his lips at the others started to raise and gglanced at his cards again, he was still reasonably confident about this hand, better than his last at least thank the first egg so really he could afford to tale the risk, he tossed in his marks, "I'm still in." he uttered. He still had enough to play this out

"Conomor, Firyal and Vera are out. Wei, La, T'ka and Ren are all in. Show your hands," F'sey said, collecting up the folded cards so he could start shuffling. As soon as the winner was determined, he could deal again.
[[ OOC: Next hand dealt at 6 PM EST. If you do not post, you will be assumed to have met the bed and I'll just announce the winner. ]]

Tentatively, Wei spread out her hand - pair of nines, pair of sixes, and a queen-high.

La looked at Wei's hand and nodded, giving her a pleasant smile. Then she flipped her own cards over and fanned them out with one (obviously extremely practiced) smooth gesture. Whether or not she was good at gambling, she made the effort to look good with the cards. Particularly in the company of other pretty girls.
Three fives and a six, king high.

Ren lay down his hand. Two pairs. 4,4 two aces and a Jack. He was already beaten and his brown wrinkled, he should have folded earlier. His own cards were fanned but laid down without ceremony, he was not looking to stand out in this.

((Totally not sure who won, so...I kept my post short. Sorry for my inexperience, I've never played poker before sweatdrop ))
T'ka smiled and lay out her hand. A Jack, a pair of queens, a king, and an ace.
