They worked together to drag Embri back to their little home, trying not to jostle her too much along the way. Once back at the nest, Toshiro enlisted Jiyuu's help in gathering water from a nearby stream using some old coconut shells. Once they had returned, the shells were placed carefully near the filly so that she could drink once she came back to. "Now, about earlier..." Toshiro cast his gaze upon their children, his displeasure for their actions quite clear.
Jiyuu shrank again, but at the same time stood defensively in front of his sister. "I-It was my fault," he stammered, trying to keep any blame from his sister, as promised. "I ran off after you guys and she only followed to make sure I was ok."

Chione shook her head quickly at the end of Jiyuu's explanation. She couldn't let him take the fall for it, not entirely. Even after what he'd said. "I'm sorry. I- I didn't want him to go alone, and we were both curious. It's not Jiyuu's fault. Um... entirely." She glanced off, feeling about two feet tall. "I knew what I was doing when I did it..."

There were... voices. Young voices. A faint frown crosses Embri's face, as she tries to make sense of the sounds reaching her furry ears. The only young Kirin should have been herself... before she could make any sense of this fact, the filly drifts back down into dreamless sleep.

"You two do realize how foolish that was, don't you?" he replied. "If there had been a predator near by then you could have both been killed. When we ask you guys to do something, it's for a reason." Granted, being at the nest all by themselves wasn't super safe either, but the stallion had checked out the area many times and had yet to spot any predators. So it was still much safer than the foals wandering into the unknown.
Jiyuu hung his head in shame. "I'm sorry..." he replied in a meek voice. At first his curiosity had gotten the better of him, and once there he had wanted to help. But really, what good had he been, other than causing his parents grief? He still wanted to help the filly, but at the moment there was nothing to be done besides to let her rest. "I won't do it again."

Chione's gaze flicked away. "I won't either. I promise."
Kindle smiled gently, nuzzling Toshiro's neck gently. "At least the pair of you stuck together. There's safety in numbers, and for that much we're grateful. But please, please, listen to us. I know that you're getting to an age where it's a little easier to handle yourselves, but you're still small."

The winged colt gave a small nod. "Yes, mom."
"Alright then, we'll be holding you both to that promise," Toshiro said with a small nod before turning his head slightly to nuzzle his mate back. Now, what were they going to do about their little guest? The stallion honestly didn't know much in the way of healing, as he hadn't been with his herd long enough to learn. It was good that she was resting now, but what kind of attention would she need when she fully came to? I hope we can be of some help. Perhaps even some basic protection will be enough. "If you all will excuse me, I'm going to scout the area for a bit." Carefully making his way out of their home, Toshiro set off to patrol the area once more.
Jiyuu watched his father go for a moment before settling in near the unconscious filly. Someday he would be able to help his father with the patrols, but for now he was still too young. "Mom, is there anything we can do to help?" he asked quietly, readjusting the wings on his back. He still just wanted to help.
(I don't know about you guys, but if you want to do a small time skip to later in the evening or whatnot that's fine by me.)

Kindle merely shook her head gently, her voice kept carefully low. "No, Jii. All we can do for now is wait. Give her a little time to recover on her own. For now, just give her space. Keep things quiet around the den."
(( Good with me as well. Hmm, think Embri would be up by the next morning? That would give us a decent starting point. Bah sorry... PreK graduation today... it eated my brain ))

(Morning sounds good to me, lol. XD Time skip it is then!)~The Next Morning~ Just like his father, Jiyuu was an early riser. Perhaps an even earlier riser, being that the sun wasn't even peeking over the horizon yet when the colt came to. Although his mind was still foggy, he had a nagging suspicion that he should remember something... Oh yeah! As soon as he caught sight of the light-colored filly, all of yesterday's events came back into mind. Quietly, so as not to wake up anyone, the colt stood up and stuck over to where she lay, checking her over briefly to make sure that she was alright. Well, she's still breathing. That's a good sign. I wonder if she will come to today? The foal had remained unconscious ever since they had brought her back. I hope she'll be alright...

Something intruded on Embri's mind; she wrinkled her brow, flared nostrils catching the moonlight faintly. Not a something, exactly, but rather the lack of something. Insects. They had stopped chirping the nightly chorus. The filly flicks one ear, then the other, as if searching for the unheard sound.
Finally, she wakes properly, dragging one eyelid open wearily. Darkness greeted her vision, the unborn dawn barely a hint of lighter indigo on the horizon. So thirsty... the filly's mouth was as dry as the sand she was laying in, parched and leathery. She could smell moisture nearby, and the odd silence that had woken her was forgotten in the more pressing need for liquid. As she snuffles about, seeking the source of the water-smell, Embri is suddenly struck with the feeling that she was being watched. Freezing in place, she flicks back her ears and glances about, trying to figure out what was going on.

Jiyuu watched in surprised silence as the filly finally began to stir. Had his presence accidentally woken her up? Oops. She still seems a bit confused, he noted and she began to look around. Slowly, so as not to alarm her, the colt nudged a water-filler coconut shell closer to her so that she could drink. She had to be thirsty by now after all. In a quiet whisper he said, "Good morning."

Ears flicking, Chione cracked an eye. Still dark out. Still dark equated to at least three more hours of sleep. Settling down, she murmured blissfully until her brother's voice roused her. Grumbling irritably, incoherent, she scanned the darkness once more. She could only just make out his form, his shadow against the dark of the shelter.

The filly squeaked with alarm as a voice drifted out from the darkness, weak legs scrabbling to lift her up and flee. Embri half-rose, much like a newborn, before flopping back down on her belly in the sand.
"Wh-who... Hel-ki?" Dim starlight outlined a wing to her vision, but didn't help clear her mind much. It didn't sound like Helki... but who else would be here, greeting her, with wings? The pounding in the filly's skull felt like a malevolent foal had decided to tap dance all over her brain, shaking her head slightly she opted to not try to stand again. Tucking her legs and wings around herself as best she could, Embri peered out into the predawn.

Jiyuu was slightly startled when the filly started to panic. He took a small step back before speaking again, still trying to be quiet. "No, not Helki. My name's Jiyuu. My parents found you trapped under some branches after the storm." He lightly nudged the coconut shell toward her again, wondering if she could she it in the low light. "We brought you some water."
Toshiro started to come to as the sounds of movement and conversation filled his ears. He opened his eyes to see that the sun was only just now starting to peek out from the horizon. Lifting his head slightly, he glanced about to find the source of the commotion. Ah, good, she's awake, he thought to himself, spotting his son and the filly speaking. The stallion decided to remain silently for now, not wanting to spook her any further in the low light.

Parents... storm... Jiyuu... Embri blinked rapidly, shaking her head again with a soft whicker. None of it made much sense... but she was definitely on a beach of some sort, and terribly, terribly thirsty. Light glinted off the surface of the liquid filling the coconut shell as the colt nudged it towards her. Ears flicking back with uncertainty, Embri stretched out her neck and buried her muzzle in the water, sucking it down fast enough to make her choke and sputter.
