During marching band we get our sets right and know our music
our director knows this and pretty much lets us go and works with the winds and brass

but duing concert season, we still do that.
But he can just hear us now xD

Ok everyone can help move the pit equipment to the field and then tell me how lazy we are. lol

THANK YOU!!!! This year no one dares to call the pit lazy because they see us moving all of our equipment and because the show is focused a lot around us this year. Past years, though... -.- Let's just say people are idiots.

Like, yeah, we have lazy moments where we're like "Ugh! I don't wanna move this stuff up the band room levels!" but we do it anyway. And the only two people outside of pit who ever help without being told to are my brother (low brass) and the tenors player in the battery who's really nice and we're really close friends with.

o.O And I really can't imagine how a battery could ever be lazy...

squishtastic psycho pop
yeah, my section is massive (12 people) and we only have like 1 bass drum and 3 working snares and two other parts. The rest of us usually just go sit in the back and work on fixing whatever our middle school retards broke that day. (*sigh* yes, we share our equipment with the middle school)

then that must make my section huge! (22 people) 4 snaredrums, 4 bass drums, 1 tenor, and 13 pit members!

In our band, Percussion is the least lazy....

While our Band Director is blowing his top off at everyone else, we sit there, waiting to be able to play because we know our parts, because we're not sports jockies who joined band just because their girlfriend did and never practice because we're too busy talking to our girlfriends who sit right next to us and can't keep their mouth shut @_@ And we end up playing only like 2 measures before class is over because the Band Director doesn't worry about us and makes all the other sections play their parts...

in my band the percussion we learn not to depend on others because 1) during marching season there would be only me and this guy and 2 people (who are not in pit) help me move all the instruments (except mallets because that's my job to take mine) out of 5 pit members so yea I get really pissed off every game because of that.It really frustrates me that people in band consider pit the laziest section of all,I go and tell them,"You carry one instrument and march, while the pit carry a lot of instruments and go back and forth to put the instruments up,so yea that's being lazy," concert season is the boring one for percussion since there is a lot of rests, but lucikly some like me count the whole time, and others know when they play by ear.The talking part oh we only talk when it concerns our music parts and giving out advice other than that we don't talk at all, since the band director we have talks A LOT!!!

well being perc. in a marching band with over 200 kids in the band [no Joke] we have the strictest bd in history. if you talk you have to do like 3 laps around ftball field during 3rd quarter break. not fun when the person next to you is talking and you get blamed! sweatdrop

Dude I play trumpet and the drumline is easily the biggest group of lazy people I have ever met, don't get me wrong, they're hilarious, but they always make the pit do their work and they never know their drill sets. The almost always miss them. so far this year out of our drumline of 4 snares, 3 tenors, 5 basses, and 4 cymbals. the snare captain has been kicked out, one of our tenors and one of our basses has been kicked out, for literally no reason. They were all seniors and the best snare, tenor and bass players I have ever heard. And now the last senior is a another tenor and he is pretty close to getting kicked out too. :******** YOU ELROD

Our percussionist kinda tick me off. they just sit and TALK ugh! Then they screw up and dont change. Now they have their own freiking class! I think collar gaurd needs it's own class. the percussion belongs with the band. the collor gaurd has to learn routeind and be away from the band.

All I'm going to say to this lovely display of 'i'm-better-than-you' is boo-freakin hoo.
Don't you love how words come back to haunt you?

btw, the drumline marches too. In fact they march with really heavy instruments. Also, if they play even one beat off from the person next to them...you can hear it on the field, you can hear it in the judges panel, and it overall sucks.
Saxes not sooo much, but you get the picture.

As for concert season, check out some of the solos and ensembles we play outside of you silly little concerts that we sightread for fun. <3
