He gave a slightly wry smile at the young man who'd skipped his chores, letting it slide for now. They'd get in enough trouble later, especially if the Candidate master caught up to them.
"I suppose it would be." He chuckled faintly. "I'll be curious to find out though, whenever this is over.

Jessan made his way to the kitchens. There was an unusually large crowd today and he scratched his head trying to remember why. His blue eyes searched the area until he saw three people with three different pots in front of them. Oh yes, the klah tasting or something like that. He paid no mind really to the bragging or apparently singing that was going on. But the crowd roused his curiosity and he moved closer until he could smell all three brews. To be quite honest, none of them really attracted his attentions. Jessan was glad he wouldn't have to worry about testing or tasting anything.

Moving down a little further, he found what he was looking for-a pitcher of chilled redfruit juice and a plate of sweet rolls. There was even fresh bread and jam, excellent. Spreading the jam thickly, Jessan began to munch his way through breakfast and the competition. He watched one of the kitchen girls stumble and make a mess of things.

This truly was entertaining.

Nelioa knew something was wrong as soon as her mouth was full of Klah. She covered her mouth, dropping her cup and sending it clattering to the ground and spilling its now very fishy contents all over the floor. The longer it stayed in her mouth the worse it got.

She could feel the contents of her stomach churning and with a whimper at no other options she spit her mouthful away from everyone else. "BLEH!!!" she shuddered and gripped at her stomach. The flavor still lingered on her tongue. Snatching Jessmet's napkin she tried running her tongue over it to try and get the rest off. "its aweful!" she shuddered.

S'kagi was, understandably rather surprised by this reaction, since it had tasted normal enough to him. he supposed she could just not be a particular fan of Klah, but then why would she be trying it?
"Really? Whats so terrible about it?" He asked, attention now drawn to her theatrical behavior and away from Okassis.

... Did he have to? Especially if she was choking on the klah? He wasn't sure what kind of first kiss that would make, but whatever it was, it was bound to be terrible. "Hey, I did not sign up to kiss anyone! Let Okassis kiss her, since he seems to be so enthusiastic about handing out favors!" Of course, it was about by that point that Sovann realized just how rude his statements sounded. "I mean, uhh, not that there's anything wrong with her, or anything, I just... don't feel like kissing anyone right now, and..." And he was a fardling coward. Scorch it, no. If there was one thing about Sovann that was a constant, it was that he could not back down from a dare. At this point, it seemed very much like that was how this whole thing was being taken, and while he really didn't want to make with the kissing, he was going to have to. Steeling himself, he marched over to Nelioa, and gave her a kiss on the cheek. And turned a strange shade somewhere between his usual dark tan and purple. Well, no one had said he had to kiss her on the lips, had they?

Her eyes met S'kagi's and she flustered. Words didnt seem to want to come out. She could get in serious trouble for this, not to mention she had just acted a total fool. Nelioa continued to dab at her tongue with the napkin. "It... it tasted bad" she said stumbling over her words between trying to keep her tongue out of her mouth so she wouldnt taste it further and trying to figure out her story.

"It tasted like fish... and not in a good way." she burped and covered her mouth as her cheeks flared out and she whimpered. It was clear to see the girl was taking on a greenish hue. The kiss on her cheek only earned Sovann a wided eyed look of confusion. She was scared that if she opened her mouth right then...something worse would happen.

"Hey, you never said I had to kiss her on the lips," Sovann grumbled, looking decidedly put out. His first kiss, wasted on something so trivial. Arrrgh, he was so mad at Okassis! "... Umm. Maybe somebody ought to get her some water, or something? Maybe a redfruit?" Something, anything to get rid of the fish taste? Though why it tasted like fish, he didn't know. Heading over to one of the stoves, he poured a mug of hot water, mixing up some tea with honey. There were some good, clean flavors that might help with that wretched taste. It had obviously been bad. Ambling over to the girl he had just kissed (he still felt so awkward about that), he placed the mug in her hand. "Here, try that. Might help?"

Well, Sovann might not have been an eager kisser, but at least he wasn't just up and abandoning the girl. He'd seen folk be much less reasonable about this sort of thing - stealing the kiss, then being gone as quick as if they'd gone between. So Okassis decided he could afford to be a bit prideful as he looked on at his friend, still grinning like a fool.

Hearing himself volunteered, he switched his attention from the unfortunate couple. "Ohh, I see what you're anglin' at," he joked to Nan, "I'm hoverin' a bit too much here, am I?" Chuckling, he shook his head and returned to klah-tending. He didn't think that Nelioa was going to actually throw up... really, that would be just a bit too dramatic, especially since everyone else seemed to like the klah just fine so far.
