There's no set list of beliefs Wiccans have, to be honest. One may believe in faeries and dragons, and the next may think it's all rubbish. I would say that really the only things that tend to be universal for the Wiccan faith is the use of the pentacle, and Goddess. Even then with Goddess it's questionable.

But it seems to be a very common trait for dragon magick users to believe in dragons at a very early age. It is the freer years, and around younger kids is where dragons tend to be found. Those childhood years before the negative programming of adults telling you it's just imagination digs its claws into your mind... I too have had a very strong love of dragons, I can't explain why. I just like the wings and the elements and the claws and the power and.. they're just plain cool.

Ok I get it I know what you mean "Its just for fun blah blah blah" Oh REALLY? Explain Nessie ya haters.

I am not sure if you can or cannot have a faerie guardian. I have not yet begun studying that area, but I would imagine it is a possibility.

I have never worn a pentacle, but it's because I couldn't find the one I could connect to. I don't know how to explain it, but when I see some necklace, sometimes I feel the "click" inside that tells me - "That one is for me". I wear Egyptian ankh which cost me nearly fifty bucks along with guardian angel necklace that was about two bucks and I love them both the same. I wore once the rune of Veles, God of magic and household fron Slavian (Slavic? Russian?) paganism, and the rune of Chernobog (Black God, or Lord of Darkness) from the same pantheon. Of course, Christianity dubbed them as evil, and it was rather risky to wear them in the open which I did boldly and recklessly where I lived at the time, but I never considered them as such, and Darkness never equaled as evilness for me. If anything, I have Dark tendencies despite my longing to be more Light-ish.
Hmm. And I have one more necklace. It's Black Cheetah with light spots. I consider it as my own animal counterpart and essence and when I imagine myself as a spirit, I see myself exactly like that. biggrin

I agree with you there, I always have to be atuned with what jewelry I'm wearing, cloths not so much but jewelry.

Any animal can be a guardian, or totem animal spirit. I had mentioned in another post that a lot of pagan beliefs have animal symbolism. As for dragons, I wish they can be more popular than what they have out there. McCoy has a sequel to "Dancing with Dragons", called "Mystical Dragon Magic". Like anything Pagan, dragons have been greatly misunderstood during the centuries. They were actually regarded by the Celts as guardians of the earth, the earth itself to be a dragon, and the magik lines called ley lines were also called dragon lines.
I performed a Lughnassad ritual last year with two members of CUUPS which was a dragon ritual. It was neat when, during it, there was this reddish-pinkish cloud in the shape of a dragon hovering over us.

Back to the pentacle - the circle also represents the Circle of Life (cue "The Lion King" music). As I explained in my forum post, point down also represents materialism. You don't really need a pentacle to claim yourself as Wiccan or Pagan (it's not just a Wiccan symbol). Also, runes are Pagan symbols that some like to attune themselves to (one I'm attuned to is Dagaz - it's the rune that looks like a bowtie - which is the rune of new beginnings). Also signs of the Zodiac and other constellations, and, well, each branch of paganism, even Native Americans, have their own symbols for just about anything. You have to remember that Wicca is only one branch of Paganism, and it is not the definitive practice for all Pagans out there (as there are many branches of Wicca).

Looping back to the topic, I'm happy to say I finally have my own store-bought pentacle I can wear :3
I've been able to wear it at school with only a few stares, but no harassment or anything, but I'm unwilling to wear it outside of that. My biological mother's obnoxiously Christian, so.. it wouldn't go over well.

Thanks. It makes me happy to wear it.

Plus I get to go up to my favorite camp (I'll bring pictures tomorrow) in about a half-hour, and should be able to gather a LOT of natural materials if Goddess permits. I want to make a pentacle out of sticks and stuff. Not for wearing, just decoration.

I actually wear 2 different necklaces, one is a celtic pentalcle made from pewter, and the other is a Seven Sisters emblem. for those that don't know what the Seven Sisters is, it represents the seven names of the Goddess. I wear them all the time even when i sleep! lol. the only real problems I've had wearing them came at work and with my Grandfather. I'll start off with problems at work first although 3 of you guys on here already know the story..... So anywhat, I was getting ready to clock out and leave work at Wal-mart a few months ago and I went up to my supervisor Sonia who was talking to a couple of managers about something, to let her know that i was getting ready to leave. no problem but then as I turn to leave, this a*****e Matt Durbin, he's not even manager of my dept. and he asks me about my pentacle (this was before i had aquired the seven sisters) and i told him "oh this? it's a pentacle, its a symbol of my religion wicca" to which he replied "Oh, well I'm gonna need to ask you to tuck it in under your shirt while your working, 'cause you know it can offend people's religion and stuff" now this is the point where most of my friends would duck and cover from the explosion of expletives that would normally spew forth from my mouth, but since i cant afford to lose my job i just said "ok, but just so you know this is my equivilent to wearing a cross" and well i left all the while with a fake smile on my face, when i got to my car and left, i just broke down and cried, i had never felt so hurt, here i am working my but off i had been wearing this pentacle for almost a year now with no problems, and suddenly just because he has a problem with it i have to suffer? well luckily i got hold of mer (eternal thanks are in order for you being there for me) and talk to her. few days later spoke with the store manager told me not to worry about it and to go ahead and wear it, and now Matt doesnt even bother me. my

The situation woth my grandfather is simple, i'm still in the "broom-closet" to him lol so i have to hide it when hes around.....

One thing that gets to me sometimes is when there'd be a trivia question about the pentacle or pentagram (like on Jeopardy! or Cash Cab), and they refer to it as "a Christian symbol adopted by pagans", or some hooey like that, and they'd say that it originally symbolized Jesus' wounds. That's when I want to jump at the tv screen and shout, "You're wrong!" Even the cross was a pagan symbol before Christian times, and, like the pentacle, it symbolized the four elements, as well as the cardinal directions.

Well I own a pentacle ring made of sterling silver, hate the metal because of it's flimsiness, and I wear it from time to time. Due to some issues with those that live around me I rarely wear it. Many around me are christian and hate anything they view as evil or any of that, so i try my best to avoid them seeing it. Not many are as open minded as we all wish some were. But I mainly wear it on certain days of the year.

as a matter of fact no they aren't the same thing really. a pentagram is an upside-down pentacle and is actually called a hexagram and is used mainly for the breaking of curses and hexes, not casting them like alot of people I know like to think. *stares straight through the walls of his house at his mother with daggers in his eyes*
