Sighing softly, Zach tied the rope around himself and then handed the end of it back to Cole. "Great," he muttered, "What next, howling banshees?"
Then he paused a moment, thinking on the whole... Murphy's Law. "I didn't really mean that!" he said quickly, glancing around as if something horrible might show up at any moment. He was getting very very tired of this.

The brunette nodded feeling that they were all together, but hearing Nash he immediately moved towards the youth. "Let me see it." As long as they weren't near the tower he was the best the group had. Weiyuan gently massaged the other's hand to relieve any soreness before replacing the bandage and giving it another massage.
He chuckled at Zach, patting the boy's head. "You can only hope that the banshees only howl." There were worse things. Like giant people who glowed and only wanted to cause pain. Or spores from fungi that could kill. Or aliens. Or Poltergiests.
Or other kinds of freaky magical s**t.
Once more, Weiyuan took the lead and continued along the river.

You come across a hole in the ice, so you keep moving down the river until you reach a fairly shallow lake. The ice is broken at the thinnest part, but there's a bear over on the side! Do you try to cross near the broken ice, or do you take your chance with that bear?

"Bloody hell." Nash let out seeing the bear before noticing the ice. His mind had already triggered the dull pain in his hand. "I don't suppose any of you are good with animals? We've learned all too well my unreliable ability." Giving a soft humorless chuckle he looked to the rest of the group hoping any of them had some keen ideas as to what they were to do. It was then he noticed the ice and wondered if a dip in cold water or being bitten again this time by a bear were on his agenda. Neither seemed promising...

Zach frowned, eyeing the bear and the ice. He really had no idea how fast a bear could run (if it decided to maybe chase them) but it looked big and slow... kind of. And, so far as he knew, any wild animal was more likely to run than attack when confronted with humans.
"Well, I don't really wanna end up falling through the ice so I say we do something about the bear," he spoke up, glancing around at the others. "There's more of us than it... I wonder if we could yell a lot and scare it off..."
