"Keychains are good for many things," said Elizabeth thoughtfully. "More than just keychains, anyway. And they are easy to make and also you can buy a lot of beads for very cheap-" She tilted her head and put a couple of fingers against her chin. "I had a brother who would wear them as bracelets," she said solemnly, and she might have continued except!

Apparently they'd missed someone in their group. She looked around but, being so small, couldn't spot the person the microphone-man was talking to

Casia nodded to Rhye, warming up to the idea. Maybe she could be useful. And she couldn't object to a sixties theme, after all, not when she talked and dressed like she did. She had never tried tye dye before though, and looked doubtful. "What would we tye dye?" she asked.

At this point, the siren noticed that a funky looking purple mushroom had sprouted beside her while she had been talking, and she blinked. Casia was used to pretty weird things, but up until very recently, all those pretty weird things had been limited to movies and books. However, a mushroom suddenly growing in the gymnasium seemed a little too trippy. Her brown eyes travelled down and further down, and presently saw it was actually a mushroom-person. This made less sense, but she figured that a girl with wings shouldn't be too picky about what people looked like. The mushroom child looked young, and since it was over here, it was probably a group member. Casia gave the fungus fellow a little wave and a brief let's-include-people smile. "Hi, cool cat. What's your name?"

Tode smiled at the fact that the winged girl didn't totally spazz out at seeing a weird little mushroom kid next to her - perhaps people were more accepting than he originally thought.
"Ahhh uhh, hi girl-lady..." he said, shyly, still fiddling with his bottom lip. "M'nameis Tode. I'ma mushoom." He flashed her a dorky little smile at realizing how redundant his last comment was - he figured she was probably smart enough to be able to tell what in the world he was. "Ah uhh, what are we ahh doing here, for this artsincraffair..." At saying that, he realized that throughout being signed up and listening to his guardian tell him to be friendly and talkative to others, he never actually learned what this whole get-together was all about. "Ah... what's an artsincraffair, ladygirl?" he asked Casia quietly, hoping that no one else would hear that he had no idea what anyone was doing.

"Eat me," Jace called back to Antony, but she'd wandered towards her group -- planted herself next to Elizabeth and Kashmira and done a huge double-take, staring at the little blonde girl and the first Luck twin. She was a tall, cropped-headed teen girl, a slightly terrifying figure if you were of a certain temperament, her ripped t-shirt displaying a skull -- playing guitar with its teeth? Whatever. "Oh, jesus christ, it's the squirt brigade."

Before she could get mobbed by kids, she added: "Jace Darnell ain't doing no bake sale, we better be doing something cool."

Casia, who had been called worse than ladygirl, wasn't quite sure what she was doing here either. But her reasons were different than Tode's and she felt a brief surge of pity for the 'mushoom' toddler. Stooping down and hugging her knees so he wasn't forced to look up to talk to her, she answered "We're making things to sell and stuff. What're you good at? We were thinking we'd probably do a groovy sort of sixties theme with cupcakes, and if you tell us what you're good at or you have another neat idea, we're here to talk about that and decide before we beat feet and get to work."

It still felt bizarre to be chatting with a mushroom, and even more so to be talking to a mushroom with a speech impediment. She had friends of unique species, it was true, but they were usually part animal like she was, or in the case of Darsh, part Blue Meanie. Talking to fungi was new and interesting.

Sixties theme? That meant little to nothing to the very young toddler, but at least he was happy that he didn't have to crane his neck up. "Good at things...? Ahhmmm, I like flowers. M'daddy works with flowers. He taught me what they are and stuff. I can draw them, too, kindasorta." He looked around for some crayons and paper, but decided to keep talking after not seeing any within his line of sight. "Flowers are pretty with colors and stuff, can we do flowers? Are theyumm, groovy? What's groovy mean, ladygirl?" The thought of asking for Casia's name didn't cross his mind - he already decided on what to call her, and was sticking to it.

"We were talking about doing keychains and jewelry," Kash said to Jace, speaking up because she was the oldest. "I thought we could do some bead work and clay, you know, and paint them so they look really pretty?" She reached under her shirt, pulling out her clay flower necklace. "Like this, see? I made it last week. We've got an oven in the art room, right? I know how to use it."

The flower was actually pretty well done for a kid, and painted with purples and whites.

"Flowers are right on." Casia affirmed. "It's not Flower Power for nothing, you know?" Reaching into her pocket, Casia pulled out her ever-convenient notebook and pencil when she saw Tode look around. She felt around the pocket a little longer for something more colourful to draw with, but her search came up fruitless. Casia's artistic endeavours were enthusiastic, but they had never been great, and certainly not good enough to merit carrying art supplies in her pockets. It was copacetic though, they could always find something better later. "Wanna show me, little man?" she asked him, holding out the materials.

Casia had never thought she would meet someone who didn't know what groovy was, and her brown eyes widened as she thought quickly. She had always used groovy. How did she describe it to someone? "It means really good. Like... in a cool, easygoing way." She bit her lip. Kind of like that, anyway. It was hard to capture the essence of grooviness.

Rhye, having been listening, also crouched down to the little mushroom boy, so that he didn’t have crane his neck for her either. A mushroom boy talking was odd, but then, it wasn’t any odder than she and her sister, or their neighbor, Casca, let alone Casia, Orli, and Chris. “Flowers, huh? Well, if we do cupcakes, too, we can decorate them with frosting to be flower like,” she said. She then looked to Orli. “Perhaps we could have cup cakes, or the tye-dye things as an extra prize for some sixties trivia?” she asked.

She also didn’t make a comment to the questions. He was little, after all! There was lots to learn.

"Yaaay flowers!" Tode cheered at Casia's affirmation of his flower-related ramblings. His eyes then lit up as she pulled out her notebook and pencil. He made a quick test scribble with it, and although he made a disappointed sigh at how grey and drab the color of it was, he drew with it anyway. After a few seconds of scribbling, he flipped the notebook around to show Casia.
"See see? I drew flowers! Look! There's a rose, an' a daisy, and a tulip, an' a violet, an' a lily..." Despite clearly knowing varieties of flowers, nearly all of his drawings were of daisies, complete with the straight-up stem, teardrop-shaped leaves, and crudely disproportionate petals. "M'daddy taught me how to draw flowers, he said that's how they all look, except the rose, I made it different." He pointed to his drawing, which actually varied from his legion of daisies - instead of having blobular flower petals, it was a circular blob of scribbles made in the attempt to replicate the intricate look of a rose. "Flowers are pretty," he said, again not fully realizing how redundant his comments are.

He looked over to Rhye, who had bent down next to him while he was scribbling. "See see, look at my flowers! I like flowers. Make everything flowers!" he cheered, not quite knowing what a cupcake was but still being fully in support of putting a flower on it.

"All right, little man, that's where you go." Laura pointed to the bleachers on the left and gave her son's hand a squeeze. "You want me to take you over there?"

Bal shook his head. He didn't think he had met any of the children in his group, but they all looked older than him and he didn't want to get dropped off like a baby. Laura laughed, as if she knew what he was thinking, and kissed his horn, which was also pretty sketchy in terms of babyhood, but it was for luck.

He scampered across the gym, light-up shoes flashing, and came to a skidding halt at the base of the bleachers; running was easy, but he hadn't really mastered stopping yet.

His group was a little disappointing. They were mostly girls, which was okay, but might mean that there would be pink and glitter on their craft, and even the boy was talking about flowers. Bal watched them for a moment and rubbed his cheek, which was turning slightly pink -- he wasn't so good with groups of people -- before clamboring over the first couple steps. This was tricky, as they were almost as high as his waist, but he was good at climbing.

"Hi, 'm Bal," he said shyly to the group, gravitating towards the younger boy. He might have been drawing flowers, but there was still some masculine solidarity there.

"My dear, you are appalling," Martin said absently, tugging his wayward daughter along by the hand. "This is charity. Are you really going to deny poor sick children the fruits of your budding artistry?"

"Notta artist!" Dawn scowled, and attempted in vain to dig in her heels. "I don't like drawring."

"Well, there's always dance, I suppose," Martin mused, scooping her up. "You'd make a fine ballerina, perhaps a fairy--" Dawn gave a impotent cry of fury, and Martin laughed, settling her in with a group of older kids.

"Excuse me, gentlemen, ladies," he said, nodding respectfully to the children. "I believe this is Team Four?"

“Those are good flowers. I’m not too good at drawing, myself,” Rhye praised the mushroom boy. Maybe their booth would be decorated in them? It’d work with the sixties.

The luck dragon looked over at the new boy and smiled. With him, their little group was complete. “Hi Bal, I’m Rhye. That’s Casia, Tode, and Orli.” She gestured to each as she introduced the group. “We were talking about doing tye-dye things and cup cakes, with sixties trivia. What do you think?” she asked. That might be a little much, all at once, but it’s best to get it all done, right.

Joshua smiled at Nataya, relieved that he hadn't needed to answer Galleai's question. "People used to believe that, if they were played right, they caused rain." He told her with a nod.

"My mom told me that. We can use beans and paper towl rolls. We'll need nails, and tissue paper too." He told the group. "Oh, the nails are to slow the beans down. If they go too fast, they don't sound very pretty."

Morgan was watching the exchange between Kash and Jace, having no particularly desire to get between the two older girls who weren't exactly fighting but still..

He smiled at Elizabeth though, glad to know keychains were for more than just people with keys and his crazy uncle. He'd also thought Kash's clay flower was pretty cool and while he wasn't sure about using an over the Nu Mou boy figured he could leave that to the older kids.

" We have small nails at the store" Rook offered imagining you'd need small ones considering that a paper towel roll wasn't very big.The grey skinned boy looked over his shoulder and smiled at the newest addition to the group and her guardian " Yes, we're team four"

Nataya nodded in agreement with what Josh had said. "Momma said they used to use them when she was a little girl." she said, smiling slightly. "I can bring in the tissue paper. We have some at our house; I'm sure Momma wouldn't mind if I borrowed some."

The purple-haired fairy looked up as she heard the angry cry, her eyes scanning for the source. Somone didn't sound very happy! Her search was made easy when the gaurdian approached with little girl in hand. She nodded and looked up, smiling at the pretty little girl. "Hello, there! What's your name?" she asked, her tone a bit softer.
