MYTHOS
Mythos couldn't help but get an odd feeling about the officer that just walked by. Obviously there was nothing to fear, at least for Mythos. If Mythos had wanted to he could've grabbed the man, he knew as Oual from behind using his mind and imploded the man's entire body, but Mythos was trying to lay low. It wouldn't do any good to starting causing trouble around here. Mastermind would punish him severely anyway. Mythos decided to not worry about it.
The girl, who had yet to name herself, was quickening her pace and so Mythos copied her exact movements. He needed to concentrate on the task at hand so then Mythos said, "Is there any recreational center we could view? A park? A museum? A zoo?"
JONATHAN JOHNSON
Jonathan Johnson could tell Oual wanted nothing to do with him and that made Jon slightly upset. Shouldn't cops of all people show understanding and respect? Jon wasn't going to shoot up the whole coffee shop right then and there, he needed help! Jon snuck a look at his watch and saw that the day was almost over. 'Ugh! I'm never going to find James in time for tomorrow!' Jon thought.
Jon knew he was in WAY over his head. Already Snottsborn was going to be livid with Jon. The entire time that Jonathan Johnson had been employed at Snottsborn Industries, Jon never was given vacation time. In the nine years he had been employed at Snottsborn Industries, this was his first vacation, and what a hell of a vacation it was......
Jon nodded politely at the chief of police and said, "N-n-n-no... no... he is not ex-ex-ex-expect-expecting me, but we ssssssort of have a complex oc-oc-occasion going on right now. Th-th-th-thank you for y-y-y-y-y-your time. ," and walked out the door. He rose his hand and hailed a cab and got in. The cabbie just glanced at Jon and Jon jumped up in fright at the appearance of this beaten up cabbie. Jon said very quickly, knowing what the cabbie wanted, "Listerine Home! On the double!"
Apparently the cabbie knew exactly where this was, and why shouldn't he? When Jonathan Johnson had heard Oual say that James was working with a Listerine it was just Jon's luck for Listerine Labs, owned by Larry Listerine, Laura's father, was the only competing rival that Snottsborn Industries had. If Snottsborn ever found out Jonathan had ever had to visit a Listerine, Jon would be fired on the spot, so this had to be a quick in and out visit and Jon would tell nobody about this adventure... not even his roommate!
'I hate my life.' Jon thought as the cabbie drove at a fearfully fast pace.

Anthony noticed Oual glance at him and knew he couldn't duck out now. "Why're you so worried? He's a good guy and he just wants to help." His brother was really starting to get on his nerves, "Hear him out. I promise it'll be worth your while." He let some of the tension leave his shoulders and his jaw unclenched as he took a meditative breath in and decided his brother probably knew best. Drying his hands off he manned the register and stood with square shoulders.

Violet, while Oual had been speaking to other people, had gotten bored, as she tended to do any time the present situation did not engage her directly. To alleviate this, she had begun to make butterflies (though her butterflies had not metamorphosed completely; they were fat caterpillars that hung limply, little legs struggling, as their wings flapped listlessly) and release them around the room. As soon as they came into contact with a surface, they imploded in upon themselves, making a squealing noise not unlike that made by a startled bullfrog. Obviously, this would be quite distressing to anyone who wandered in, and especially so to employees. Subtlety was not Violet's forte. When, seconds after Violet had released her noisy horde, Oual returned his attention to her, she stared up at him with innocent eyes. Her creations fluttered in all directions, and one bumped into Oual's chest and imploded with a startling shriek. "That's okay, Mr. Detective," Violet said in response to Oual's apology. "See, I made friends! I bet I can make more things than this store can make. Uh-oh! Do you think the store will get jealous? Maybe it'll see how good I do and make me queen. I always wanted to be a queen, only I kind of wished it would happen after I turn into a bullfrog. Did you know that tadpoles turn into fireworks if you stare long enough?"

Anthony tried his best to hide his amazement as the little girl conjured what Anthony could only guess were little worms with wings out of thin air. Oual was talking to her now and motioned at Anthony but Anthony stood his ground and made like he wasn't listening. He wanted this infernal cop to come up and order already but bided his time and tried his best to be patient.

Anthony put his game face on and decided to just get this over with. He took his apron off and clocked out and then took a deep breath in and then a deep breath out. Walking over to Oual and the girl from prom he gave an effort to smile, "Well, there's a familiar face I didn't think to see again, or atleast not so soon." He was awful at small talk. He continued to take deep breaths through his diapraghm to keep his adrenaline under control. "What brings the two of you to this establishment?"

Anthony liked this bizarre twist of events. Rather than the cop making him squirm like he had at prom Anthony was the one in control of the situation. He decided to press his luck, "I see the young lady from prom has taken to you nicely, I'm not quite sure I caught her name in all the comotion." He gave Oual a look that suggested he'd like to talk elsewhere and in private before he smiled and turned his attention to, "Hello again my mysterious friend, what can we get you today at Cup's coffee?"

((Gah! Apologies for the disappearing act. College obligations.)) Previous Violet blinked up at Oual. There was something different in her eyes, something sharp and intuitive hiding behind the usual bewildered gaze. She sensed, or seemed to sense, that something had gone deeply wrong just now. Even if it was possible that Violet had the mental capacity to understand death, she had no way of knowing what had Oual so on edge. But, somewhere in that scrambled brain of hers, Violet knew that something was wrong. "And what do you want, Mr. Detective?" she asked, a distinctly different tone in her voice. She reached her hand up, slowly, and grabbed onto his, squeezing tight. "Tell Mr. Jumpy what you want. If he can't make it, I bet I can."

Anthony sensed the disturbance and the game became less fun. He wasn't supposed to pick on this cop he was supposed to make him an ally. "Well whatever it is the two of you want it's on the house." He offered a smile and wondered what was going through Oual's mind. Perhaps he would investigate further when he got off work.

Anthony frowned as the cop left. He had hoped this meeting would be a little more productive. He turned on his heel and brushed passed the two or so customers that were in the shop. "Watch the store Beth, I'm leaving early," He said without looking at the bewildered teen. He went into the office, grabbed his keys, put his jacket on, clocked out and headed to his car. Without a second thought he turned the keys in the ignition as the engine wheezed into life and he pulled out of the parking lot. He had work to do.
