Obi glanced behind him hearing Tol's voice mildly startled. He hadn't heard anything; wasn't sound supposed to carry up here? Though, from what he could tell, the snake was always silent like this. It didn't help the randomly appearing thing he did though. Heath had mentioned he was normally out killing people (morbid much). But probably for a profession like that, silence would be a must. It picked his curiosity too, if Tol enjoyed being creepy like he was; he had appeared to enjoy flustering Demi.

Quietly, the rat just watched Tol before looking back at Heath at the mention of food. His stomach gave a small grumble as a reply and he smirked, "Not yet."

He offered an arm to the rat. "Well then, shall we look for something to eat?"

Heath glanced at Obi and studied him, but it wasn't an overbearing or predatory gaze. Well, he was an ox after all, generally easygoing and friendly when he wasn't busy being badass and surly. He tilted his head a little. "I think it's interesting that Tol doesn't seem to bother you that much. The idea of needing bodyguards doesn't either. I suppose it would be a good quality to have in your profession, but I have to be honest, I had always expected models to be high-strung and a lot more bitchy." He smirked and stuck his tongue out at Obi.

Obediah glanced at the arm before giving a smile and taking it. "Sure." His fair skin was quite a contrast to the ox's; he was sure standing next to him made the other look like a chocolate bar and Obi looked like a marshmallow or ghost. They could almost make smores?

His tail flicked when he noticed he was being studied and then Heath explained why. He grinned and snickered a little, "Oh, Tol is pretty creepy, but it's a good attribute for his job. Whether as a bodyguard or as a killer?" It was kind of a weird thing to think about, being in the same general vicinity as a killer (or killers), but Obi just didn't dwell on the depth or true meaning of the word. Obi was also an actor on top of his modeling, so masking true feelings wasn't incredibly hard.

"Bodyguards are just precautions. It's not unusual in my profession..." He gave a shrug, "Nothing really bad has ever happened." He'd gotten hate mail and sometimes threats, but there had never been any follow through. And as far as stalkers went, it was hard to tell between them or just obsessed fans. "As for being high-strung, you will meet all the ones that are. It's incredibly stressful to be like that all the time. It's bad for your health." He could be bitchy and he could be high strung at times, but it was easier just to try and stay relaxed. Besides, no one liked people like that. There was no way to be charming or pleasant when you were like that.

(Dirty thoughts from Obi, or is he just hungry? XDD )

Heath lead them toward the stairs while their conversation continued. He nodded in agreement. "True, in his case creepy is a great attribute to have. But you know with a lot of jobs, bodyguards, or models, or even presidents..." He threw the last one in there to make his point, "there's an impression you're trying to make, a look the public expects you to have."

I'm the cowboy, the one you get to go shmoozing with. Tol's the one on the rooftop or in an alleyway picking off targets. He didn't say this last part. If Obi asked or if he made the connections himself that was fine, but if he didn't, there was no need in worrying him with details. Doubly so if it turned out that he wasn't in much danger. But it was possible his life would be on the line at some point. If this came to pass, he had the best guys for the job. If not, well... then they were overqualified. But the only thing taking a hit would be Obi's pocketbook. He could spend his money on worse than two 'charming' traveling companions.

Oh, and as one of those companions, Heath was so looking forward to meeting those higher-strung, bitchier models. He was looking forward to holding his tongue and pretending to be interested in conversations. Perhaps he could pretend to be a vapid male escort, paid for prettiness as opposed to a capacity for intelligent (or in this case fashion-conscious or whatever) conversation. He bowed his head to Obi as they came upon the kitchen and indicated that he should go inside first. "In that case, I shall endeavor to make those excursions less stressful for you, and therefore weigh less heavily on your health."
