"That'd be wonderful." Blossom obliged willingly and got onto a caramel horse decorated with assorted candy that shone like jewels and icing on the sides, eager to give this ride a try. "I bet you by the end of this dream, I'll be stuffed chock full of all this candy," she called jokingly to Helios. "Maybe then I'll be able to push you, but more than likely I'll be too stuffed to even move!"

Looking over at the assortment of candy creatures adorning the merry-go-round, Helios settled upon a white horse with a flowy, cotton candy mane and sparkling blue candy eyes. Keeping it in sight, he moved over to it, placed his head against one of the candy cane poles, and looks sideways at Blossom. "Ready?" He began pushing, slowly at first, then faster and faster, trying to keep his head in contact with the pole. "Let me know when it's fast enough, Blossom!"

Blossom's eyes widened as the merry-go-round began to spin. As it gained speed, she felt her fur blow back past her as the wind rushed past. "I think that's fast enough now, Helios!" This is amazing, she thought. It's almost like I'm flying!
"Helios, would you like me to push now? You look a little tired."

As soon as he heard Blossom calling out that it was fast enough, Helios quickly put on a burst of speed and leaped onto the merry go round, where he hopped onto the white horse and held on as it sped around and around. He laughed as he felt the wind blow back his hair, bringing with it the candied scent of the merry-go-round and the very air of the world. If joy ever had a smell, that would be it.
He felt the horse slowing down, and he looked around as he saw the scenery coming into view as the merry-go-round continued to slow. As Blossom asked him if he would like to have her push, his first impulse was to be a gentleman and insist that he be the pusher, but if they were really friends, he wouldn't want Blossom to feel bad by not letting her do her part. Thinking to improvise, he called out, "Okay, but if you need any help, let me know and we can push it together." ^^

"Alright, then!" Using her eyes, she timed her jump off the caramel horse, landing squarely on her feet. She wobbled a little, unused to the motionless ground after being spun around for so long, but steadied herself momentarily and walked back over to the horse she was riding on.
She rested her head against the candy-cobbled side of the merry-go-round, and gave a little push to see how it went. It spun a little, which was good, because it was a lot lighter than she had expected. She put some more force into her push, and the merry-go-round began spinning again.

Clinging to the white horse and watching to make sure that Blossom was okay pushing the ride herself, Helios smiled as the world became blurry once more and he had the sweet-smelling breeze blowing in his face and through his hair. "Okay; you can get back on," hr called out as he clung to the candy pole his horse was attached to.
In spite of all the fun he was having, Helios found his thoughts wandering back to the moment before they had found the playground, where Blossom has been trying to ask her question and get the answer that he himself seemed to have botched. Well, he thought, when we've had our fun with this merry-go-round, I intend to give it another shot. Maybe Blossom will have forgotten it enough to not take offense at his trying again to give her the answer she sought.

Blossom hesitated for a moment, trying to gauge the timing to jump back on to her caramel horse. As she let go of the side of the carousel, she increased her speed to catch up with the horse and thrusted herself off the ground and back onto the carousel. From there, she simply climbed onto the horse, letting the cool, sweet wind run through her fur again. "What do you want to do next?" she asked as she felt the carousel's momentum gradually slow down as she turned to smile at Helios.

Smiling as the world slowly stopped turning, Helios nimbly leaped off of his horse and moved over to Blossom's to help her down. "Actually, there's something I really would like to do right now. I'd like another shot at your question." He hurried on before Blossom could interrupt him. "I know the answer I gave wasn't adequate somehow, but I think I know how to ascertain the right one." He cleared his throat and smiled disarmingly at Blossom. "Do you consider me to be more than a friend?"

"H-huh?" Blossom was caught completely off guard as she was climbing down from her horse and nearly fell over backwards off the carousel as a result. As she finally gathered her thoughts and comprehended what Helios had just said, she turned a brilliant shade of red and starting mumbling incomprehensibly.
"I, uh," she trailed off, completely lost for words. She squeezed her eyes shut before blurting out. "Yes, I do! In fact, I really really, REALLY like you, Helios! More than a friend."

Smiling as gently as he could at Blossom, Helios walked over to her and ventured a small nuzzle. "There now, was that so hard? At least now I understand; you were hoping I would respond the way you just did, and you would be happy because our minds would be in agreement." He pulled away just enough so that he could look Blossom in the face.
"Your warm reception of me in the beginning made us friends, but our times together in this land of dreams has made me very fond of you. Yours is just the kind of heart that I like; innocent and playful. It gives me a desire to protect you and look after you here, where I might not be able to when we are awake. I guess what I am trying to say is, I really really like you too."

Blossom's eyes widened substantially; her heartbeat was going through the roof from all the unexpected revelations from today. "You...you mean it?" She could hardly believe that he had just said that he reciprocated her feelings. Looking into his sweet almond eyes, she realized that he really meant it, and returned his nuzzle affectionately, if not a little hesitantly.

"Course I mean it," Helios said with a kind laugh as he prompted her to go ahead and nuzzle, after all, he had done it first. "I'm just glad now that I think on it, that you didn't take my last remark as coming from someone who ate hearts or anything. I do still have a bit of trouble with communication, you see." He felt a little bit concerned when he fancied he could almost hear Blossom's heart racing, but remembered that that wasn't always a bad thing. Still smiling, he reached over with a front paw and put an arm around her in a gesture that he hoped wouldn't be taken as being too forward.

"Thank you," was all Blossom could say. She felt indescribably happy and secure in Helios's arms, and visibly relaxed a little. "And don't worry, I didn't take it that way. I think your communication is perfect," she added a little shyly. "I really do hope we can talk like this more often, Helios..." She looked up at him and smiled. "Shall we head back to reality? As sweet as this dream is, nothing can compare to how wonderful you are."
((That was about the lamest pun I've ever come up with. u_u wink )

"Really? Well I'm glad to know there's at least one namir who won't take anything I say the wrong way. And I'm doubly glad that it's you." He smiled and gestured for Blossom to take his paw. "We can leave if you like; the nice part about dreams is they don't really go anywhere. This place will undoubtedly be here whenever we choose to return to it." Smiling fondly at Blossom, Helios slowly began to walk with her, back to the castle and the world of waking.
