Blooddusk paused in her hunting to sniff at the air. She paused at a scent, like leaves, mice...woodland smells. But not pine trees. She frowned, remembering the scents she had learned so recently. ThunderClan! She whirled around and raced towards the scent, ready to fight if need be. She ran past Blinkchase and Bleedingmoon, slowing down only as she saw the ThunderClan patrol with Foxtrot. She narrowed her eyes. There didn't seem to be any hostilities; none of the cats were snarling, and their claws were still sheathed. She slowly padded out of the brush to sit silently behind ShadowClan's deputy, flicking her ears as she listened to what ThunderClan had to say, curious as to why the other clan had crossed their borders.

Brambleclaw didn't reply back immediately. His eyes scanned the cats that were around, watching the conversation that was about to unfold. Well, this was as private as he was going to get it, as he wasn't their deputy and couldn't tell them to leave.
"One of our warriors went missing, sometime last night. I..."
He shook his head before looking briefly at Spiderheart, who had the sense to stay away. The tom could ruin things by blaming Shadowclan for Linnetsong, and he better not do the same.
"I was wondering if you have scented her on your territory, or anyplace nearby."
"Shush." Blinkchase responded back to Bleedingmoon's question. She leaned in closer to listen, and blink at what Brambleclaw had to say.
A missing warrior? Like that was a surprise to them. Thunderclan was a clan full of trepassers after all, and she supposed that the said warrior had wandered onto someone else's territory.
Then again, his voice sounded urgent. Maybe it was serious.
"Still, why are they checking with us?" She muttered to no one in particular.

BleedingMoon tossed Blooddusk a thankful glance as she joined the group of warriors that had gathered around the ThunderClan intruders. Despite how well ShadowClan had been doing this leaf-bear... the fortune seemed no different in ThunderClan. Though skinnier then leafgreen all were strong and able. He had to admit, he was some what intimidated by the patrol... if a fight did brake out, none would leave with out scared pelts.
Luckily they didn't seem to have crossed to pick a fight but rather in search of something... help, prey? Flattened his ears Blinkchase hissed to slience him but was soon distracted by BrambleClaw's speaking. 'A lost warrior, how very interesting indeed! A female to top it off.' Thought his silver eyes shimmered mischievously silently hoped he would find the 'rogue' before her clan had. .... Blinked as Blinkchase voiced her thoughts. "What would ThunderClan warrior have to do with ShadowClan? Unless she happens to be a crossclanner I don't understand it." he muttered to no one in particular before bedding his head to give chest fur several firm licks.

"We haven't seen her. Sorry." Plumgaze had been caught off-guard in the middle of a kill when the ThunderClan cats arrived - he spoke thickly through a mouse, which he hastily laid down into a pile of leaves. "Did her scent come this way?"
Then the black cat's ears flattened. He'd just remembered that Foxtrot should be the one to talk, as deputy. "Sorry Foxtrot." he mumbled, giving the deputy a sheepish look, and resolved to lock his jaw from now on.
He backed up and eyed the Thunderclanners with curiosity, wondering who the missing warrior was.

Milkspot's anxiety shortly turned to curiosity and the black-spotted tom was soon peering at the shadowclanner's that came to join their deputy with interest. He had yet to attend a gathering, so he had never seen any of the Shadowclan cats before. Behind him, his tail waved in a peaceful manner; even if they were on an important search, there was no reason he couldn't try to be friendly with these other clan cats, right? If the other clan saw that they had no hostile intentions, they might also be more inclined to offer up helpful information! A quiet, pleased purr started up in the young tom's throat as he realized how intuitive this thought process had been.

Foxtrot didnt even look at Plumgaxe, but his tail flicked his paw ina gesture to stand down. He would have a work witht he black pelted warrior later, but would not punish him for his readiness.
"As Plumgaze said, we have found no traces of ThunderClan on our territory. If we had scented your warrior, we would know. The only Thunderclan I've scented recently is the border this morning."
Foxtrot sat tall, twitching his tail behind him. Why should these cats come here and question them? Is this not a matter that didnt require a border crossing, especially not ShadowClan's? "Is that the only reason you have for leading a patrol over our border?" Foxtrot's voice was neutral, but words obviously irritated.

Blooddusk's eyes grew wide at the news of the missing warrior. She tried to think back to if she had scented any trace of ThunderClan, but she couldn't think of any time before the enemy patrol had arrived. She shook her head to show that she had no knowledge of the missing cat. Her eyes narrowed once more as the dark tabby glanced at the reddish brown warrior. This cat had something to do with the missing one...Blooddusk forced the fur at the back of her neck to lie flat despite her foreboding. It might be translated as aggression, when all it meant was that she had a bad feeling about this meeting...it could so quickly turn into trouble.

"We're the search patrol." Brambleclaw quickly explained. "We're checking other places as well. Thank you for your help."
Well, that went over pretty nicely. He turned around to head back to Thunderclan territory, when...
"I don't believe it." Spiderheart hissed loudly, enough for the Shadowclan cats to hear. "Where else Linnetsong would've gone? She's a smart warrior. She doesn't wander away just like that... unless she was taken by force!"
He acted like he was talking to himself, but his volume suggested that he was really trying to blame the other clan for her disappearance. And he might've been upset that they weren't the ones that taken her, maybe....
"Spiderheart!" The deputy snarled at him. "They wouldn't have any reason to lie, or take her! There's other places she could've gone, and we'll find her!"
He knew it was a mistake to bring him along. His emotions and prejudice towards Shadowclan could cause a fight at this rate. Trying to supress his own anger, he gave an apologetic glance to them before pushing Spiderheart and the others back behind the border.
Blinkchase didn't know who Linnetsong was, but it was obvious that she was Spiderheart's daughter, from the sound of his voice. She had never been a mother but she knew a parent's love for their kits, and what could happen when the kit disappears...
"I don't think she was a cross-clanner." She said, in response to Bleedingmoon's thoughts. "Though he sure had a mouse-brain idea."

Crescenthallow watched and listened. How unfortunate! She furrowed her brows in concern. A missing warrior... what could have happened? She couldn't have fallen in Riverclan's river, she couldn't have been catnapped, from the sounds of it she couldn't have run away from the clan if she seemed so cared about. The tip of her tail twitched nervously as she flattened her ears, a little insulted by Spiderheart. But she didn't feel hurt despite insulted, knowing if she or if any of her siblings went missing her father or mother would be just as frantic and upset.

Blooddusk nodded. This Spiderheart was nothing but trouble...how dare he accuse them of kidnapping this Linnetsong?! She must be his daughter...or maybe an old apprentice...a sister? Someone close... She watched the ThunderClan patrol leave and breathed a sigh of relief. "Like we would take one of those woodsy furballs," she muttered under her breath. The crisis seemingly averted, she got up and trotted through the undergrowth towards the Thunderpath. Perhaps a lizard might be basking in the sun on the black stone. Besides, she wanted to keep an eye on ThunderClan, lest they try to attack, despite their seeming friendliness.

Milkspot's ears fell back and he looked wide-eyed at Spiderheart's sudden outburst. He shot one final glance back at the shadowclan warriors, worried that they would attack, before being shooed back over the boarder by his deputy. So much for friendly appearances... Quietly, the young tom scampered back across the thunderpath and into Thunderclan's forest. "Now what?" He mumbled quietly, his tail tip flicking in unease.

"We look for Linnetsong in other places." Brambleclaw stated, not taking an eye off of Thunderpath until he couldn't see it anymore. He was glad that they got out of there as soon as they could, since a fight was a last thing they needed. No thanks to Spiderheart.
Speaking of which. He turned to the brown tom who was silent ever since the meeting with Shadowclan.
"Head back to camp now. We don't need any more outbursts like back there."
"But..." He couldn't believe what he was hearing. He was his father for Starclan's sake! He'd have the best chance of finding her and making sure the patrol stayed on task!
"I won't do it again. I promise.
"I know. But just to be safe." Brambleclaw nodded and went back to leading the patrol without another word about the issue.
"I think searching near the two-leg place would be a good idea." He told everyone else, not watching the broken warrior made his way back home.
"Ok... seriously? What was that all about?" Blinkchase stared at the Thunderclan cats as they left. "Stupid furballs. They had no right to accuse us."
She snorted and went back to chasing frogs and getting her feet wet.
((Thunderclan, at this stage, can either go back to camp with Spiderheart or continue searching with Brambleclaw.
Shadowclan can keep on hunting or go back to camp to tell everyone else what happened.
Nothing really matters that much beyond this point. I'll let you in on a secret. Linnetsong won't be found for a long while. And those who keep on RPing might end up getting... subjected to a special treatment.))

Rosethorn watched Spiderheart leave for a moment before she continued on with the patrol. She understood his concern, but she also perfetcly understood Brambleclaw's reasoning. Even if they were heading away from Shadowclan and weren't likely to encounter any other cats, they didn't need the risk of needlessly antazonizing any cat if they did come across one.
She wondered how she could help the patrol a bit before stepping up beside the deputy. "Brambleclaw, should we split into more than one group? This is a pretty big patrol, and we could cover more ground that way," she suggested.

Foxtrot spat at spiderhaert as the Thunderclan cats left, wishing them now words of encouragment. He let his shoulders relax when they disappeared from view. Foxtrot stood up, and glanced around at the patrol.
"I Feel it best that I head back to camp and inform our Clanmates of these transpirings. You can keep on hunting or come back with me," He mewed curtly, padding over to where he'd covered his freshkill and set a brisk pace back to camp.

Crescenthallow decided to continue hunting. How would she contribute at all to sharing the story? And seeing her grandmothers face at such a tale... she'll be pretty frustrated with Thunderclan for sure! She sighed, and thanks to that patrol they probably scared all the prey away!
Linnetsong... Such a pretty name, so it must have been a pretty she-cat. I do wish them luck though in their search... Crescenthallow pounced a frog.
