I really liked the Materia in FFVII. Its different than all the other Final Fantasies. I hated the junctions on Final Fantasy VIII. They should've stuck with Materia at least up to Final Fantasy 9. I don't have any complaints about it. I think its genius. Sheer genius.

I found the materia system was okay, but I liked other systems in other final fatasys, like in FFX and X-2. (Bad games, good battle systems) I like Junction too...
And I liked Bahumut ZERO and Kjatus, or whatever his name was.

I like the materia system. One of the reasons is, like what was mentioned earlier by someone, you could equip each character according to how you envision them. smile
I didn't realize how much I used materia until I did Yuffie's side story...

Materia was one of the better systems but I thought every Final Fantasy game brought a new inovative system.

I thought the materia system was really good
It was alot better than say FF8 Junction system, it was really confusing, and I guess the FFX Grid was okay but it wasnt as simple as FF7

Yeah, it DID take a long time to Master, but it was SOOOO worth it in the long run. It helped alot during the boss fights to have mastered the restore materia. Regen = luff.
