She followed him, smiling at him as she did. She was in a very cheerful mood, and rubbed against him as she came up to walk beside him. She gasped as they approached the pond, it was a beautiful area. "Wow, it is so lovely here." she said, running ahead to stick a paw in the water. "The water is not even cold," she said. She waited for him to walk over, and then splashed him lightly. Then, she walked into the pond, and started to swim around.

Star set the backet far enough from the water so it would not get wet but close enough that they could see it and reach it when they were hungry. He laughed when she splashed him and he climbed up a rock pile and jumped in. His splash covered her head as he resurfaced and laughed. "Well, not we both are soaked," he said as he swam up to where she was treading water. His nose touched hers accidently and it was his turn to blush as though he wanted to do it, hadn't been planning on it yet.

She laughed, and blushed too. Then, before her nerve could desert her, she touched her nose to his and then swam away. She continued to swim around, not looking at him because she was extremely embarrassed at her quick action. She dived under water briefly, and then came above-shaking the water from her face. As she did, she swam to the deepest part of the pond and allowed herself to float there. She giggled as a fish swam under her paw, and began to try to catch it in her paws.

Star smiled as he watched her splash about the water and try to catch the elusive fish. "Be calm. And patient. Then and only then will you catch your fish." He spotted one near him and smiled. "Watch me." Star stayed perfectly still as the fish swam up next to him and flipped his paw at the fish at the right moment, tossing it into the air. Star jumped up out of the water and caught the fish in his mouth, before he hit the water with a big splash. He noted that the other fish was still swimming around Hon and moved toward the shore to deposit his fish. He set it on the ground, near their basket and turned to watch Hon. "Now you try."

Hon looked over at him, and smiled. Then, she held still, trying not to laugh as she caught a fish, and then accidently dropped it again. She did this several times before she laughed, and said exasperatedly, "Okay, I do not think fishing is really my thing." As she did, she swam over to him and shook off-spraying him with water. She yawned lightly, and then dove under water again to wake herself up before climbing out of the water to lay in the sun.

Star smiled at Hon, though winced as she sprayed him with water. He dived back in and caught a couple more fish within ten minutes, and coming back with a fresh meal. "We can save the stuff in the basket for later, fresh food is always better." Star smiled and began to munch on one of the dead fish. He killed it first because he would not want it to suffer being chewed upon.

She nodded, and began to eat on of the fish slowly. "Thank you, very much," she said, not as nervous as she normally was. "I am glad you suggested this, it has been a lot of fun for me." She looked over at him, smiling and noticing she finally managed to dry off completely. She licked her paw lightly, to get at an itch, and then continued to eat-watching Star as she did. She stretched a little, but then settled down as she finished the fish.

Star smiled and quickly finished the last bit of fish before asking, "Would you like to read some or go back to swimming? I am fine with either course of action." Star wanted to ask her to be his mate but he did not know if she was ready yet but was old-fashioned and beleived that the male should do the asking. He smiled at her and waited patiently for her answer, wondering what life would be like if she rejected him. He would probably leave.

Hon said, "I'd like to swim some more, it has been a long time since I had this much fun, I really enjoy being with you, Star," she said-and then turned bright red when she realized what she said. "Oh, um....sorry, that is to say, oh I should not have said that...I am so sorry." With that, she quickly went into the water so that she could try to relax again, slightly scared that what she had said would scare him off.

Star jumped in and quickly swam after, corning her against a few rocks. "I was not going to ask this of you yet but why wait," he muttered, clearly embarrased. "Listen Hon, I like you. I like you a lot. I want to stay here with you and enjoy your company for as long as you wish it." Star paused, mustering up the courage for his question. "Hon, my beautiful Hon, will you be my mate?" Star was blushing but he listened carefully to whatever she was about to say.

"I...I....I'd love to," Hon said, shaking a little, and blushing a lot, but clearly extremely happy. She touched her cheek to his, and swam around him for a moment before she headed for the shore. When she got there, she turned and watched him swim around as she layed on a patch of grass to dry off. She shivered a little because her fur was still wet and it was starting to get colder, but she was enjoying watching him, so she did not want to leave. She curled herself up a little tighter and then continued to watch him play in the water.

Star was so happy that she had said yes that he was nearly jumping for joy in the water. He swam around a bit to calm down and swam over to her and walked onto the shore. It was getting cold so he packed up everything after he shook his fur dry. He tossed a blanket over before he went to the basket. "Perhaps it is time to go home, and tell everyone the good news." He said smiling down at her. He picked the basket up with his teeth and waited patiently.

Hon nodded, and smiled, draping the blanket over her back as she walked with him toward their home. She moved slightly over, and walked a little closer to him-still needing to assure herself it was all real. She could not believe how happy she was, although she was still noticably chilly. She, feeling playful, snatched the basket from him, and ran ahead-then stopped a little bit of the way ahead to wait for him. "You coming?" she asked, teasing him.
